We are so blessed to have some of our family move near us. It has been almost one year since we moved across many states. We were in a situation where we had to move and we were having a very hard time finding a home in Illinois when my husband suggested moving out of state. There were several states we considered but through lots of discussions and prayers we found where we were meant to move. It was VERY DIFFICULT leaving everyone and it brought many tears! We left most of our children (we only brought the youngest three), my parents, many siblings and their families (I came from a family of 12 children also), and many dear friends from a lifetime of living in the area! Our two oldest children and their families moved near us! @bonniedonahue about 2 months ago and @whitehouseblackshutters this past week. We also have had several of our children come and visit this past year. @hannah.lasota came this past weekend. It was so nice to see her, her husband, and her new baby. We had a wonderful time at the beautiful Heart Ridge Retreat and Cultural Center for a "Simply Love" Marriage Retreat. Kathleen and Troy Billings lead the retreat and did an amazing job. Their talks as well as the other speakers were heart felt and inspiring. Last week was a very nice time spending several days with 11 of the 12 sisters and sister-in-laws at my sister's house in Texas. We had this trip planned for a long time and before our dad passed away on March 28th. We were going to get together last spring but with Covid it didn't happen. We thought about canceling it but we decided we needed some time together. My sister went out of her way to make every aspect just wonderful! Yesterday was a very hard day for me! My dad passed away on March 28th, at the age of 92, and we had his wake, funeral, and a lunchoen celebrating his life. He was a very good and blessed man. It was very nice to be able to see the fruits of his life as we all gathered to honor him. My parents had 12 children, 82 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, and 8 more on the way! The last several weeks we have been working on a home we bought with @whitehouseblackshutters to share as a short term vacation rental. We have been working on several projects and we are excited to have our firsts guests February 5th. We have been opening up walls, adding walls, adding a fire pit, deck, lights, counters, painting, buying furniture, decorations, kitchen supplies bedding, towels, etc. The list goes on and on!
