Hi, I'm Ares. Unlike the others in this subsystem I am not a girl and if you call me a girl I take that as an invitation to be a total bitch in return, inconsiderate asshole.

Pretty much all I remember is the Diamond Cutters. They were my family, as far as I'm concerned.

Smithy was the only remotely father-like figure I had. He cared for the team deeply and looked after us well. Though he wasn't all seriousness, he'd joke around and laugh with the rest of us and competed with me and Slinger to destroy the most egg bots on any given job. It was always a close competition. I beat them a few times, through sheer reckless brutality... he worried for me, I'm sure.

Slinger was like a brother to me. He was definitely older than in canon though, somewhere around 16 at the time. About the same age as me. He was a goofball and bit of a nerd once you got to know him and could see past all his showing off. I think he's the one who gave me the nickname Ares. We'd roughhouse all the time like a couple of kittens and get scolded for it, it was fun.

Claire was somewhere between a big sister and a motherly figure to me. She always wanted what was best for all of us and tried her hardest to keep us safe. And it paid off, she saved Slinger's ass plenty of times. I always felt secure around her.

Whisper I was really fond of too. There's something quite endearing about her and her orange wisp buddy being so excited to blow things up. I don't remember exactly what it was, but she was physically disabled; she got tired more easily than the rest of us and needed plenty of time to rest and recover. I seem to remember her using some kind of knee braces too. That's the main reason she was our scout, her skills were put to the best use that way. I still ended up carrying her back to base a few times.

As for Mimic, he didn't win this time around. We caught on to his plan to dispose of us and let's just say I took care of the threat before harm could come to us. It shook the team up quite a bit, but the others know I was acting to protect them. They forgive me. Whisper did become a bit more withdrawn and nervous after that, she felt guilty, though we all did our best to support and comfort her. As far as I'm aware, we haven't lost another Diamond Cutter since then. Though that's as far as my memory goes.

Before we get to posting about our memories, we should get some context out of the way. If you're familiar with Sonic Prime's Shatterverse, this will be easier to understand.

The multiverse everyone in the Shattered Subsystem originates from is referred to as the Primeverse. It's like the Shatterverse, but infinitely and exponentially expanding. A multiverse of multiverses, if you will.

Evie was who existed in the original, unshattered world, hence her being the subhost. All of the versions of her that exist in the post-shattering Primeverse are called Iterations, and everyone in the Shattered Subsystem is an Iteration!

In order to keep track of all the discovered shatterspaces, each one has a nickname that will be tagged whenever it is referenced.

I suppose I will be the first to introduce myself. Hello. My name is Orion.

As I'm the only known individual from this shatterspace, I've decided it will be named Celestial.

I am a mercenary who works with an Ivory wisp and a Cyan wisp. I originally carried two different, relatively compact models of wispons to accommodate them both, however I would later have a custom wispon built by Smithy.

For some time I worked alone, save for my wisps, and was somewhat of a competitor with the Diamond Cutters, snapping up whatever jobs I felt I could handle before their team could. Although for the longest time we never met, there developed a sort of a rivalry.

Inevitably we'd cross paths eventually, helping each other out of necessity and mutual interest. The combined, rather enthusiastic efforts of Whisper and Slinger to convince me to join the team were successful - this was before Mimic, mind you. I usually wasn't much of a people person, preferring the company of wisps, but I felt at home with them and quickly grew fond of Whisper especially. My wisps got along with the others well, and Smithy was quick to notice the inefficiency of my two-wispon approach and begin working on a model that could utilize both my wisps' abilities to their full potential.

When Mimic was introduced to us I was cautious, but saw the utility of his shapeshifting like the others. We worked alongside each other fairly well, though I always sensed there was something off about him. I was willing to look past it; we all have our demons. Until that day.

I had a habit of walking at the back of the group, and the others trusted me to cover them. As such, I'd just begun to cross the threshold of the room when the doors began to close. I jumped back on instinct, instead of moving forward to join my team. That simple action saved my life, and regrettably, I could not save theirs. After hearing what happened inside all I could think of was protecting Whisper, the last friend I had. I didn't cling to any feeble hope the others would survive, no, with a heavy heart it was time for a tactical retreat. We were long gone by the time Eggman realized two of us were still alive and sent our former teammate to finish the job. That is where my memory currently ends.
