I saw the signs, but I prayed for a different outcome

I can’t say it out loud, because if no one knows I can pretend it isn’t real. Maybe I can heal without having to feel. Maybe I can just keep going. But as soon as I catch my breath I feel his hands around my neck & I’m back to gasping for air. I ask why, why would you cross that line? somehow I’m responsible for his actions and mine.
