Fresh new Snowflake Coral earrings are headed to a good home. Top layer is made with titanium scraps from a race car maker, and the bottom layer is argentium sterling silver. Ear wires are niobium. Scroll through the photos to see the parts and a bit of the process. The earrings were inspired while SCUBA diving when I spotted the coral species. 1st snowflake coral pendant. The back piece was partially laser cut using a green laser. IPG Photonics was kind enough to have their research team spend time to see if the 30 ga sterling silver sheet could be cut through with the green laser. After more than 10 minutes of the green laser on the piece, it still hadn't been cut through. 

Thankfully they have a different laser that did work on sterling, quickly. 

When I started sawing the back piece, I needed to move the silver out of the way. I was happy that the piece peeled out of the sterling sheet just like a sticker.

3 new necklaces I created for the upcoming Winter Abundance show at ZFolio Gallery in Monterey CA. 

The blue green rose cut tourmalines are tension set between layers of recycled sterling silver. The pieces were electrolytically etched and hand formed in recycled sterling silver with stainless steel fasteners.

Winter Abundance runs from Dec 1, 2017 through Jan 3, 2018 and features new art work from members of the Monterey Bay Metal Arts Guild
