hot take: i genuinely think antishipping is going to be dead by the time 2030 rolls around. every day i see more and more people changing their minds/confessing they secretly enjoyed the content they were shittalking. people have all of a sudden stopped hating on fujoshis and toxic pairings (they can deny it as much as they want now but yes, toxic pairings were seen as "proship"), and are slowly getting into abusive pairings yandere age gap selfcest and even freaking noncon 😭 ive also started seeing lots of antis age up their underage fave pairings to write explicit fanfic of them while still shouting proship dni lol, some of these antis being adults themselves. theyre getting bored guys, and it SHOWS, cant wait for the inevitable future "antishipping was actually a pretty racist ideology and japanese people deserve an apology" essays

anti shippers honestly just confuse me at this point. idk, you’ve heard the point of “okay so violence is okay and fine in media, but incest isn’t? age gaps aren’t?” etc etc. and that’s right, it is a very hypocritical sentiment to be overly critical of some types of content, but very little others. i think people also fundamentally misunderstand what proship is, and i’m not going to change anyone’s mind who is already antiship to this point, but a girl can rant about it!!

i think even within proship spaces there is a distinction between those who use dead dove content as a coping mechanism, vs those who just find the content interesting/enjoy it. and if you find yourself making those mental distinctions, you should probably work on that!! it truly does not matter what you’ve gone through as a person or as a child or whatever, you are allowed to like dark content. you shouldn’t have to tell the universe that you are “a victim of xyz, so it’s okay!!” it’s already okay, because it’s fictional. it isn’t real..

the amount of proshippers against [anti-c] paraphiles also confuses me. like there is truly an alarming amount of antikink and antipara sentiments in the proship community. we are siblings!! [anti-c] paras and proshippers are inherently fighting for the same thing. proshippers for people recognizing that what you enjoy in fiction, doesn’t mean that you’d do it in real life and paras for recognizing that just because you think about it, doesn’t mean you’d do it in real life. thought crimes aren’t real, your actions are more important than what you fantasize about. and proshippers thinking that it’s so yucky gross that paras exist annoy me!! i think some proshippers have gotten into the mindset of “i have to like everything” but that is exactly the opposite of what proship is. you are allowed to not like content, and you’re allowed to block and not interact with it. but that doesn’t make people bad. it’s okay to be a paraphile the same way it’s okay to consume dead dove content, it doesn’t mean you condone those actions in real life
