There’s something about editing your chapter in physical form. I was getting stuck and confused trying to edit on the computer so created a Frankenchapter which is flowing so much better! One chapter down another 6 to write!

Feel like I’m in a good space with my writing. The next couple of months are going to be intense but I’m so excited to see it unfold. Really loving my PhD again.

Got to present my research as a case study to second year students today. It was great to be able to talk about my research and relate it back to what they’re learning. Also helped me to clarify what I’m thinking.

I have hit a wall… I’m questioning if I even know how to write because I can’t seem to connect the literature to my research in a written format. It’s in my head but won’t come out…

I’ve been procrastinating a bit with writing my next chapter so I need to get my butt into gear and write. But can we just take a moment and appreciate the chaos that is my desk? I love it haha

Day 673 of the PhD

Second day back in the office and it’s a full day of reading. Which I’m kind of excited about since it’s raining today and the perfect weather for reading. Not going to lie, it’s great to be back working on the PhD. It’s also my third year this year so I have another 6 months after this and then I’m finished so hopefully it all goes smoothly.

Day 659 days of the PhD.

Each year at Christmas someone in the family is responsible for the advent calendar. This year it was my sister and she decided to make us little things. I’ve always wanted my own personal library stamp and now I have one!! It makes my PhD books look so cool! Can’t wait to add it to the rest that are in my office at uni.

Getting ready for the uni shutdown. Taking these babies home to read 🫠 don’t know how I’m going to carry them all home since I forgot my bag with wheels… but oh well.

Finally on a week long holiday to Melbourne. No phd, just pure relaxation, shopping and getting inspired. Feeling at home in this creative city. Day one done! Can’t wait to get my creative mojo back.

Finally finished marking!!

One of the courses I taught this semester was 3rd year design so they will be graduating this year. And one of the students wrote a cute little message to me in their journal. It was such a nice surprise when marking. This makes all the hours worth it.

Now to go back to the PhD and catch up on all the things that have slipped.

They had a petting zoo at uni and now all I want is goats! They were so freaking cute… best distraction ever.

I’m getting close to hitting that mid way point so thought I’d create a vision board to keep me going. It was also a nice procrastination from writing because… damn it’s repetitive. But soon it’ll be hours of marking and then my one week holiday!

So much to do before then… but I have finally started data collection so I’m feeling excited.

There's so much to do before my little one week break, and I'm already feeling overwhelmed... if I had no marking I'd be fine... why did I agree to teach 3 classes 😅

Change of scenery was needed for reading today. I love working in cafes, it's so relaxing 😌 and it makes all this reading feel aesthetically pleasing haha
