Hey yall, I'm Ruby, but you can call me Ru. And yall might want to sit down for this cause it's a lot. :D

My dad divorced my mom and went and married a lady who was very mentally, verbally, and emotionally abusive towards me and my siblings. I would have to go to my dad's house on weekends and stuff, so I was forced to live with her.

She constantly criticized every thing I did, berated me, and always pointed out every little thing I did wrong. She sold some of our toys when we weren't there and claimed we had gotten rid of them. She would also guilt trip me for things i couldn't control, such as my hair getting greasy from puberty. In public, she would act like the perfect mom, but behind closed doors she was a monster. And my dad never did shit about it, basically emotionally neglecting me and my siblings.

I also briefly had a step-dad, who seemed like the perfect guy. He went to church, had a dog, and seemed fun. But once him and my mom mom got married, he changed. He turned out to be mentally abusive and we're pretty sure he was bipolar as well. He stopped taking care of his dog, leaving me to do it (which I didn't mind cause I love animals). He picked fights with my mom and my siblings constantly. We were always walking on eggshells around him too.

But luckily, my step-dad is no longer in my life, having divorced my mom and moved to Iowa. My dad and stepmom aren't in my life either anymore, because we moved states away from them as well.

As a result of all of this, I have constant anxiety, ADHD, and depression. I apologize for every little mistake I do and I struggle with confidence. I also have a hard time trusting men because of this too, which is probably why I'm still single, but I'm not complaining. I also hyperfixate on my Fandoms a lot, particularly Marvel, using them to dissociate from life.

So yeah, that's my story. And for the trauma candy salad, I brought skittles!

Quinn/Wildcard is a female mutant (her ability is she can shape-shift into any animal) who escaped a scientific facility at 10 years old, being found by Gambit. He takes her back to the X-Mansion/Xavier's Institute, where he kinda becomes a father figure to her, hence the card related name. She was very antisocial at first, literally just sticking with Gambit, riding around on his shoulder in her cat form.

Asher/Slatestrike is a male mutant who attends the institute, who's ability is Geokenesis, which is the manipulation of rock, minerals, and somewhat of the land itself. He is one year older than Quinn, and he is deaf as well. He and Quinn become friends quickly due to his quiet and calm personality, and they bond over him teaching Quinn sign language. He does eventually get hearing aids, but him and Quinn still use sign language as their own personal way of talking.

But Farren is a different story lol. She is a creature I made up called a Chiffinix, inspired by one of the Picrews I played around with recently. She has nothing to due with the Marvel universe, and acts as a protector of the forest she lives in.

I have had yet to draw any of these three, but if I do get around to it, Farren will be the first one I draw

Your support about these guys/ my other OCs literally makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside, you have no idea-

Ok, so a Chiffinix is sorta a part human-part animal-part bird type creature.

With Farren, she is part Canadian Lynx and part Wood Thrush (but these creatures can be any combination of an animal and a bird of some sort)

So, her upper body, like her whole torso, arms, and head, are a normal human female's.

For the lynx traits, her legs, like from halfway up her thigh down, are the rear legs of a lynx, silver fur and all. Her Canine teeth are sharper than a normal human's, and her fingernails can extend into claws.

For the Wood thrush traits, she has a set of wings that are colored like that species of bird. Her ears are feathered as well.

Her tail is long like a lion's tail, but has silver fur on it from her lynx traits. However, the end is feathered with thrush feathers.

I might make a species reference sheet, so other people can create their own Chiffinix as well! :D

Oof, sorry to hear that. My mom's been pushing me to get a job alongside my school stuff, so that's gonna be fun to deal with. TwT

SATs are rough, I hate taking tests so much, I get such bad anxiety. I can actually relate a bit with retaking stuff cause i actually had to retake some of my college classes cause i failed them and no one said anything 💀 Hopefully you will be ok! I believe in you!

I hope you feel better soon! Summer sadness sucks. I've been struggling with a bit of depression myself, and with my mom banning me from watching/talking about Marvel recently, it's not really helping matters. I'm not hurting myself or anything, don't worry!

That DnD stuff sounds awesome! I've played it a little bit, like on road trips and stuff, but never got too serious with it. I bet that story is going to be awesome!

Hihiii!!! Ehhhh life’s been life ig 💀 Summer break for me so I feel like I have absolutely nothing to do all summer since literally nobody is hiring 😭😭😭 Literally so many super walkable places and all of them wanna not hire me

I have another year of hs bc my transcripts wanted to be stupid my fresh year so not super looking forward to that, but it let me figure out what I wanted to do another year. Didn’t make my goal on the sat retake💔💔 it’s fine I mean objectively I got a pretty great score and jumped my math from a 630 to 710 but I got so close to a 1400 so it’s idk :P I’m not retaking it again tho so that’s just gonna be my score, it’s well within the upper range of accepted scores for my top school so I think I’ll be okay but it’s a little disappointing to get 10 points below your goal

I tend to get rlly sad over the summer lowkey, so I’ve been fighting off that cause I just get so much more time in my own head, and also trying to stay creative. I’ve been working on a DnD setting I’m really excited for though, first two campaigns are gonna be 200-800 years in the past of the main campaign I’ve been working on, and they’re gonna impact a lot of things in the main campaign but also you can see how the world changes over time and it’s gonna be really cool

Working on Kian making him his own main character!!! It was always supposed to be the plan to have Kara and Kian to both have separate narratives independently from each other, with Kian being more heroic and Kara being a darker story but then I only focused on Kara and left Kian behind so I’m bringing his story up to the same level of thought. STILL haven’t finished their rp blogs yet but I’m gonna eventually I need more colored art for Kian

Hi I’m undead now sort of, have art as tribute, basically all I’ve managed to draw in months since I haven’t had motivation to draw. (Except for my SAT page because OF COURSE my art I don’t get to keep is gorgeous I drew a ton of Kian and fleshed him out and it’s gone forever ;-;)

Watched Brokeback Mountain for the first time and like now desperately coming for the Stucky WWII equivalent. Any suggestions would be fantastic but I have a vision and don’t wanna write it myself

If you’re curious from start to finish it goes Chase my new Digimon rp oc, Granite, Kian one of my 2 MCU ocs and Kara’s brother, Deadeye a clone oc I have a good bit for, and Magnus who *isnt* Magnus Archives silly story behind his last name but he’s a rp oc I have i just wanted to draw his tattoos
