Cats are adorable and loving and I know non-cat owners often say “cats don’t love you”, and it hurts due to it not being true so I wanna share some things!

Adding on to the cats knowing your patterns, they ALSO know routines, even yours. I have a cat who knows my bedtime routine and ALWAYS meows or stays by my feet at that time cause she knows she gets to sleep with me and cuddle.

Hoever another thing I wanna debunk, CAT’S REALLY CARE bout their owners. I had a cat who was really sick and he heard me crying one day, and EVEN IN his weakened state, he wobbled from the kitchen where he was sleeping to my arms. And he stayed with me the whole night, and morning, until his final breath. He knew I was sad, he WANTED TO BE THERE FOR ME.

Saying “Cat’s don’t care” or “are mean” is absolutely wrong. Though sometimes they can be absolutely mean if they have good reason (self defense or something), but if you’re nice to them, they love you. Cats are, in lots of ways, possibly more caring than dogs sometimes.

I’ll ALWAYS defend cats, they care, they love, they’re just not like dogs. And people give them bad takes cause they think they’re like dogs.

Also, the meanest I’ve ever seen cats be was WITH ANOTHER CAT, never a human. If you wanna say cats are mean, they’re not.

I feel like the reason certain dog-lovers insist cats are evil is because they read their body language as if they were dogs. So here’s a very basic guide to common “mean” things cats do that actually aren’t mean at all if you know what they’re thinking.

Rolling and exposing belly- attacks you when touched Does not mean: Give belly rubs! - haha I tricked you!  Actually means: I’m playful! If you reach for my belly I’ll grab your arm and bite it because I think we’re playfighting! 

Lazily exposing belly - still attacks when touched Does not mean: tricked you again! Actually means: I’m showing you my belly because I trust you. Please don’t break that trust by invading my personal space. I might accept a belly rub if I’m not ticklish and I know you well. Snapping at you while being pet Does not mean: I suddenly decided I dislike you! Actually means: You’re petting me in a way that gives me too much restless energy. Please focus on petting my head and shoulders instead of stroking the full length of my back next time.

Is in the same room but makes no attempt to interact Does not mean:  I’m ignoring you Actually means: We’re hanging out! I’m being respectful by giving you space while still enjoying your company. Slapping/scratching your hand when you try to pet them Does not mean: I hate you! Actually means: You’ve failed to establish that we’re not playing, or the way you’re approaching me scares me. Be calmer, speak more gently, make eye-contact and blink slowly at me before you try again.

I love when you find an author who just has a good flavor to their writing. It could be the way they handle characters, the way they use certain tropes or themes, even the specific lilt of their words. Its familiar and comforting and carries across different stories, like coming back to a place of comfort and recognizing the furniture.

Random nonsense

I’ve recently gotten into Ace Attorney, and I have a random thing/headcanon/what have you.

Also, I believe that (in a crossover setting) Phoenix Wright would make a good parental figure for Toyosatomimi no Miko and Mononobe no Futo.

Miko and Futo are like, ancient children (I view them as being physically 13 and 10 respectively), and they don’t understand like anything about the modern era, and they don’t mean to “not know”. And Phoenix can help teach em stuff and (sometimes) keep them outta trouble.

And then Miko might look up to Phoenix’s abilities (since Miko was once a prince) and might occasionally copy him. Like Phoenix comes home from a case and finds Miko and Futo pretending to be lawyers and it’s a wholesome sight to see.

And Phoenix sometimes sits the girls down and is like, “Please just listen better, you’ll get in worse trouble if you keep this up.” (When they accidentally steal something) and they’re just like, “Okay dad…”

I wanna ramble about this to other AA/Touhou fans sooo bad…!

Futo is ALWAYS with Miko, you absolutely cannot split them up, and if you do they’re gonna have panic attacks or something.

They’re also VERY sibling coded omg. It’s precious and adorable and EVERYTHING I do with them will have them together~

They’re the most precious souls ever.

I love when there's characters that are pair bonded and you know that wherever one of them is the other is also gonna be there.

I know how to sew and am great at it (despite only starting learning earlier this year) and I can make clothes and dolls.

I just need purple, black, white, gold, pink, blue, and yellow-tan cloth to make a wonderful cosplay of my baby~

The closest experience I've ever had to discovering "the vitamin" was buying a 100% wool outfit and wearing it in the winter.

Not only was I not freezing anymore, I was not sweating and overheating either. The horrible sensory nightmare of winter clothes disappeared.

In particular, I bought a pair of wool pants. They were a thrifted pair of fancy dress pants like you would wear at an important office job, and they were easily the most comfortable pair of winter-appropriate pants i'd ever worn. I wore them Every Single Day.

From that point on I realized a lot of my clothes were making me feel bad, and the common thread was polyester. Especially polyester blends.

It's a trap because the polyester clothes are the ones that always feel sooooo silky soft when they are in the store, whereas cotton, linen and wool can feel comparatively rough and scratchy. But when actually wearing them for hours throughout the day, it's the natural fibers that feel more comfortable.

Maybe the secret to sensory comfort is not about the presence of softness, but the absence of overloading sensations. Or maybe the sensory stress and agony is not triggered by texture of the fabric, but by how it breathes and regulates temperature.

Then there's the problem of clothing life span: polyester blends, no matter how soft they seem at first, become rough and scratchy and covered in hard, itchy pills after wearing them 10 or 20 times, whether or not they have been tumble-dried or even washed at all. (I tested it!) Linen and cotton become softer and more comfy the more you wear them, polyester but ESPECIALLY polyester blends become a constant stressor. Polyester blend t-shirts I used to love for their softness now feel bristly and irritating.

So now I'm trying to change my wardrobe to as many natural fibers as possible, and the more natural fiber clothes i have the more I realize that the plastic fibers stress me out. It's so easy to overheat or freeze in them and they're always degrading and becoming less comfortable and it sucks.
