Cursed hands she had always thought were unlovable. Pitch black as she held that stupid fountain pen you had gifted her for her birthday. She was rather fond of it, considering it came from you. It was stupid, she thought. Why would a woman like you have an effect like this on someone like her? she was a powerful woman, how could it be? She had known you for years, yet these feelings crept up on her, the slightest touch of your hand making her heart race ever so slightly.

You'd never know this, of course. She could never let you know how she felt. If such things would get out, just what would people think of her? she's an important woman with a strong standing! But no matter how hard she attempted to hide it, her feelings got the better of her.

You both found yourselves standing by the railing of street in fontaine. It was dark out, the stars shining down on you both as if a spotlight from the heavens. The small, twinkling dots were bright in your eyes, and she couldn't help but feel captivated. Her hand came up to your ear, brushing your hair behind it before she spoke.

"..Could we ever be with eachother?" Such a sentence caught you off guard. Arlecchino had always been a close friend to you, but you couldn't deny the small feelings that you kept deep down. But however could you be with eachother? Your family, your friends, everyone you knew had a hatred for things like this.. you were raised to believe it was a man and a woman, never a woman and a woman.

"..What must you mean?" You answered. you could only hope she meant.. to be closer friends or maybe just go out with eachother more often. you saw that look in her eyes, how soft it was when she looked at you. she believed you were everything she had hoped for. she fought herself for years to keep her mouth shut and hide her feelings, but she loved you so much she couldn't keep it to herself for another second.

"Can we ever be together? Love eachother just as a man would a woman?" she looked down at you, her face having a hopeful look as she held out her hand for you to take in acceptance. she was desperate for it, needed her love to be returned. she never felt this way about anyone in her cursed life. As you took her hand, you knew you couldn't accept this.

"It's.. we can't. You know this." she seemed distraught, yet she remained silent for a few seconds. you both seemed upset at how it was forced to turn out. she looked away for a moment before looking back.

"Would you love me the way i love you if i were a man?" she asked. she couldn't help but ask, since she had been wondering it for awhile. the moment you muttered a yes, she became even more confused. why does she have be a different gender for you to love her? was she not good enough the way she was? she hated your stupid belief.

you turned to face the railing, your hand laying down on the concrete. she knew your answer after that, and her heart was filled with dread. as you both stared up at the moon, she tried to sneak her hand over yours, just to feel your skin one last time incase you wished to leave her forever after this.

yet you quickly snatched it away, your gaze hard as you looked up at her. she seemed surprised? she looked down at you, hoping for you to get just a bit closer.. begging you silently. yet instead, you only went further. you began walking away, figure fading into the darkness as she stared. she couldn't bring herself to believe what you've done.

She knew this would happen, and she knew she should've never opened up. she had this happen before, so why would this time be different?

it's in her dna to be cursed till the end of her days. her teeth forced to be bared and her walls built high. why must she experience such cruelty?
