UZI ANGST MY BELOVED!!!
Metallic fingers curled into the plush of the pillow that muffled pitiful sobs and oh so desperate pleas for attention never received. Purple optics blinked away digital tears, the sobs dulling to drained whimpers of pain that felt so physical to her.
Uzi slowly sat up, looking at her reflection in the mirror. Her hands gripped the pillow in her arms as she stared silently. Her hair was disheveled and messy because of her crying, with parts frizzy and sticking up awkwardly but she couldn't bring herself to care. The loose old tee she wore hung off her shoulder, her white plating reflecting a soft lavender in the purple light of her room's LEDs.
There was only tiredness, a deep sense of exhaustion and emptiness that only brought wave after wave of lonely pain to the isolated girl. She was missing class, but no one would care, no one ever cared.
An outcast among outcasts, the societal lost cause.
Uzi knew her role well, the one that only ever brought her pain.

I'm alive and I have some awesome writing for y'all!!
This is something I made for a writing competition
It's about 2.8k words
Luvi :3
Yuri slung her backpack over her shoulder, careful of her midnight black wings, which shifted softly as she adjusted the bag. Glancing in the mirror, she sighed, brushing a strand of violet hair behind her curved horns and glancing over her outfit. Typical ripped black jeans, her grey zip up with a white battery logo crossed with bones, a lavender tank top and black combat boots that have definitely seen better days. A ding made Yuri look down, a text from Lizzy and one from Venus as well wishing her a good day. Another sigh passed her lips, knowing what she'll face in the day.
“Hey dad, can I get a ride to school?” Yuri asked when she stepped downstairs, looking at her dad
“Sorry kiddo, I'm running late to work. Maybe tomorrow” Khan responded, glancing at his daughter before rushing out the door, nearly closing his own wings in the door out of his hurry to leave. Yuri grumbled and rubbed her face, already knowing today was gonna be shit.
“Guess I'll walk then” she huffed, annoyed. It was raining outside too, just the worst.
Ten minutes of searching and she couldn't find a single umbrella, souring her mood further. “Great, wet wings and shitty weather, what could be worse?” Yuri grumbled under her breath, stepping out onto the porch and fumbling with her keys to lock the door before heading out.
The rain fell steadily, drops falling against her and soaking her as she walked to school.
While walking, a car drove past and hit a puddle, splashing her with cold rain water.
“Just my fucking luck” she snapped, wiping the water off of her face and flapping her wings slightly to get the water off. It'd be faster to fly, she knew that, but that would mean she'd get far more soaked so she resolved to just walk.
By the time she got to school, her clothes were damp, her hair was decently soaked and her wings were uncomfortably wet. Even worse, she was nearly late to her first class and others were already whispering behind her back.
“Did the little dragon get caught in the rain?” Taunted a voice she'd rather not hear yet.
Yuri gripped her backpack strap and didn't look up. “Not today Lizzy” she huffed, finally glancing at the two in front of her.
“What? Rain sour your mood?” Venus snickered, glancing at Lizzy.
They were good at acting, Yuri had to admit. Outside of school, the three were dating and they spoiled Yuri in all the attention she never received. But within school walls, they were as harsh as could be to keep up their social status.
“Just leave me alone,” Yuri huffed, looking away. “Today is gonna be shit” She added under her breath, going to take a step and tripping over a foot stuck out in front of her. Rebecca, one of their little followers.
Her wings flapped uselessly to steady herself and she fell face first onto the ground, hitting the tile painfully. Tears pricked the corners of her eyes but she pushed it down. She was fine, this was normal.
The three girls laughed as Yuri fell, hitting the floor with a painful thud. Though Lizzy and Venus faltered slightly when the expression on her face twisted into a mix of pain and distress. They couldn't drop the act though, Yuri was the school freak with no friends.
Lizzy bit her lip, looking at Venus, who shared a similar worry.
To cover up, Venus spoke in her normal harsh tone “Whatever, she's not worth our time” words that cut Yuri deep despite knowing it was an act.
Lizzy laughed tensely “Yeah, let's go Rebecca.” She gestured for them to go and they left Yuri to pick herself up from the ground.
Venus and Lizzy shared a worried look as they walked. The Drakari looked genuinely upset and they could only hope their words wouldn't hit deep.
Yuri picked herself up from the floor, brushing off her clothes and pushing away the pain that filled her heart when Venus and Lizzy walked away from her. She told them that this was fine, she could handle it. Yuri didn’t want them to lose everything dating her, even if that meant constant torment from the only two who ever looked at her with more than contempt and barely disgusted annoyance.
The day passed slowly, first period study hall, second period a lab class that no one ever bothered to talk to her in. Third period history came and went in a way that seemed to drag time out. Fourth was ceramics, a class she had with Venus and Lizzy.
Yuri walked in, dropping her bag at her normal seat and walking to the shelf that held her current project, a lighthouse. She was nearly ready to fire it, just a few more details and she’d be ready.
With a heave, she picked it up and walked over to her seat, careful of her wings and others around her until she reached the table and set it down. “Now just for the tools” she murmured to herself, walking off to grab what she needed.
“What if we ruined it?” Rebecca said to Venus and Lizzy as the three sat down with their projects, glancing between the lighthouse Yuri made and the two others.
Lizzy and Venus looked at each other, unsure how to respond. “Er, maybe that’s a bit too far Rebecca..” Venus said awkwardly, knowing that’d destroy Yuri if that happened.
“Oh c’mon, it’s not that big of a deal” The other insisted, shrugging off their worries but ultimately not going through with it when she noticed Lizzy and Venus didn’t want to.
The class carried on as it normally did, everyone working or goofing off. Venus got up to get something, walking past Yuri’s table as she did. Despite how careful the vampire was, she ran into the table, jerking it sideways and causing the tool Yuri was using to stab in the side of the wall. Yuri gasped in surprise and looked at the sizable and unfixable hole in the side of the lighthouse wall before looking at Venus with teary eyes.
Venus froze, looking at Yuri in surprise and horror. Then Rebecca noticed. “Hey! You actually did it!” She exclaimed, looking amused. Lizzy looked at Yuri, then Venus and then back at Yuri, who quickly got up and walked out of the room silently. “Psh, it's not that bad. Dramatic much-” “Shut up Rebecca” Lizzy finally snapped and looked at Venus with worry. After a shared look, they both followed Yuri out of the classroom, hoping to be able to find the Drakari.
Their searching led to no luck, looking in all the spots Yuri normally hid held no reward as the Drakari was nowhere to be found.
“Fuck, Lizzy we fucked up.” Valerie said, running a hand through her hair and looking at Lizzy.
“No shit.” She snapped back, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. The blonde opened her mouth to speak but the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. “Fuck, just great. Okay, we'll fix this when we can”
Yuri curled up in the bathroom, wings wrapped around her like a shield from the outside world and the pain it brought her already fragile state. Why would Venus do that? Did she mean to? Did Yuri do something wrong? Are they gonna leave? Thoughts raced and her breathing labored as she spiraled. She couldn't lose them, she'd be all alone again, all alone. “Please” she croaked out, pressed in a corner of her hiding spot. “Not them, not now. Please, I can't be alone again”. Yuri broke down again, unable to hear the bell ring through her soft sobs and loud thoughts.
When she stumbled out of her hiding spot, her eyes were red and shoulders slumped. The halls were empty and she realized she was late, thankfully it was a study hall with a teacher who didn't even acknowledge her existence. Yuri plopped in her seat and buried her face in her arms, trying not to cry again. Wings curled around her and kept her from the whispers she heard from the back of the room.
Yuri let herself get attached and now she didn't want to let go, pathetic. Lizzy and Venus probably thought she was pathetic now, breaking down over a lighthouse of all things. Stupid, stupid Yuri.
When they saw the Drakari next, it was the end of the day. Yuri was outside, surrounded by a group of girls on Lizzy's cheerleading team and dripping with something that smelled strongly of coffee which was confirmed by the empty Dunkin cup in one of the girls hands.
“What the fuck are you guys doing?!” Valerie shouted, running over to the group and pushing her way into the circle. Yuri looked like shit, she felt like it too and it pulled at both Lizzy and Venus’s hearts when they saw her current rundown state.
The group only chuckled.
“What? It's not like you care for the freak.” One snickered, looking at Lizzy and Venus, who were a mix of fuming and worried for the soaked girl on the verge of tears. This wasn't the teenage rebel Yuri, this was the broken girl no one spared a glance at.
Before Venus could start a fight, Lizzy grabbed her arm and gestured to Yuri, who was shaking slightly with her head hung and wings folded but dropped. They both frowned and Lizzy gently guided her to Venus's car.
The drive was silent except for Yuri's quiet sobs.
“Please.. don't leave me. I know it's pathetic but..” she trailed off, sinking in her seat and crying harder.
“Yuri..” Lizzy started but stopped, looking at the broken girl in the backseat.
“We're not going to leave you, we love you.” Venus said in a soft tone reserved for only Lizzy and Yuri.
Yuri looked up, sniffling slightly. “You won't? Promise..right?” she asked in a broken voice, hopeful but guarded.
“We promise, nothing would make us leave you.” Lizzy confirmed, eyes on Yuri, heart breaking at the sight of the Drakari. She didn't do mushy stuff, she wasn't affectionate or desperate like this normally and seeing her so broken hurt both girls deeply.
Yuri went silent on the drive to Lizzy’s empty house, staring out the window, and mulling over the events of the day. She wasn't quite sure how to feel or what to say. She was hurt, for many reasons really. The lighthouse was the straw that broke the camel's back and caused every carefully balanced wall to crumble and fall.
Venus and Lizzy shared uneasy glances with each other on the drive, unsure how to fix the mess they've caused with Yuri.
When Venus pulled into the driveway leading up to Lizzy's house, she sighed and looked at Lizzy then at Yuri who was already unbuckling. The three got out and stepped up to the door, waiting for Lizzy to unlock it.
“Yuri..” Venus started, quickly getting the Drakari's attention. “I'm sorry-” “We're sorry Yuri, for the lighthouse, the bullying.. everything. We were supposed to love you, not hurt you.” Lizzy’s words destroyed the last bit of composure Yuri had and she broke down right there, her wings curling around her body as she sobbed quietly.
Panic set in for both other girls, who gently guided Yuri into the house and onto the couch, where she stayed curled and crying. It was all too much for her, it hurt and she felt so pathetic for crying like this over nothing but she couldn't help as the pain that once ebbed at the corners of her mind grew louder and all more consuming of her mind.
Lizzy hesitantly pulled Yuri into her arms, rubbing her back as she sobbed softly, Venus settling next to the two and joining the soft hug. As the dragon girl’s sobs dulled to a soft sniffle, her wings wrapped tightly around Lizzy.
“Can we just be normal? Please?” She asked, looking at Lizzy with saddened eyes that made the blonde’s heart break.
“What do you mean?” Venus asked, moving closer to rub her back.
“Normal, dates, affection. I feel like a dirty secret.” Yuri said quietly, not looking at either now.
Venus and Lizzy looked at each other and nodded.
“You're not a dirty secret, we're done pretending.” Lizzy said softly.
They went out for ice cream that night, all three of them. A small date sure, but it was a start and Yuri loved that. Of course, someone saw and it spread like wildfire but Lizzy had blackmail and blackmail she did.
Yuri walked into school the next day, no one pushed her, no nasty comment or secretive whispers.
“Hey Yuri,” Venus said, resting a hand on her back. “Lizzy got you a coffee on our drive here, she's at her locker.” Just like that, the Drakari was dragged along by Venus with a slight blush on her face, feet moving faster to keep up with Venus’s long strides.
“Slow down! I'm not that tall!” Yuri huffed, trying to keep up pace with the vampire who snickered and slowed down.
“The little dragon’s legs too short?” She teased, smirking.
“Bite me! You're just tall!” Was the huffed response she got from the shorter girl as they made their way to Lizzy's locker.
A kiss from Lizzy was pressed against her forehead and a coffee was placed in her hand, which made her go more red. Public affection was new and unfamiliar but part of her liked it, even if she wouldn't admit it out loud. A soft smile lit up her face when she took a sip of her coffee, her favorite, they remembered.
“Thank you” she said softly, the normal indifferent and defensive guard she held up around herself dropping slightly.
“Of course baby, figured you'd need it for the tests today” “UGHH don't remind me” Venus grumbled, crossing her arms.
A day full of finals and stress, they made it back to Yuri’s house to watch anime with the dragon girl for the night.
Mid-way through a show, Lizzy paused it.
“Hey! I was watching that!” Both Venus and Yuri shouted, looking at Lizzy with minor annoyance.
“Yeah yeah, don't care. I want food” She responded, tossing the remote back on the table.
“Snack run?” Venus suggested and Yuri nodded and giggled.
“Monster,” She said with a grin.
“IT'S ALMOST MIDNIGHT YOU CRACKHEAD!” Lizzy shouted.
“So?” Yuri responded, “Bite me, I want my caffeine.”
“You're gonna become a monster with how many of those you drink” Venus commented, snickering.
The Drakari stuck her tongue out at Venus and got up.
“Let's go, come on!!” She said, grabbing her wallet.
A quarter from midnight and the three were at the closest gas station, looking through snacks and grabbing drinks.
“You do not need that many monsters” Lizzy said flatly, looking at the shorter girl who managed to grab ten monsters in minutes.
“Bite me! I'm not drinking them all tonight!” Yuri said, looking at the snacks now.
“You still do not need that many,” The cheerleader told her, rolling her eyes. “You're gonna give yourself a heart attack.”
“I'm literally part dragon, no mortal concoction can take me down that easily.” She said confidently, her wings puffing up slightly at the implication that she could be bested by caffeine.
“The other part is pure gremlin at this point” Venus muttered, shaking her head.
The three laughed slightly and got what else they needed from the store, leaving a very concerned and confused employee when Yuri left with ten monsters and a gremlin grin.
The drive back was quick and filled with jokes and giggles, the three girls stumbling back to Yuri's room with snacks in hand and stupid smiles on their faces. Yuri set her bag down and flopped on her bed, careful of her wings as Lizzy plopped down beside her.
“Thank you,” Yuri said softly, curling up next to Lizzy. “For letting things be normal now.”
Venus sat down and pulled Yuri close, rubbing her side and smiling softer now.
“I wouldn't want it to be different.” She said and Lizzy nodded.
“Sorry for everything before, it was wrong of us and we promise to do better now” The blonde said, kissing Yuri’s cheek. “I like this much better, you get all red when we hug you in public”
“Bite me! No I don't!” Yuri said defensively but caved quickly at a kiss from Venus.
“Our cute little dragon”
Morning arrived and sunlight filtered through Yuri's window. The three were asleep on her bed, a mess of limbs and sheets from tossing and turning and a pillow fight before bed. The Drakari's wings rested comfortably on top of the three like a blanket, warm, safe and home.

I've seen that study too, it actually shows a lot about gender and how roles are viewed.
The behavior exhibited is learned behavior. In most households, whether their dynamic, it's the women doing most of the housework/chores. This has been the role of women for decades, and though it's gotten better, it's still a struggle.
Gender is a social construct
Before you say anything, hear me out
Everyone is entirely different. Due to biology, environment and genetics, no one will ever think or feel the exact same as another. Even raised in the same household with the same treatment will give different results.
Gender is a construct based on instincts and societal factors. That's why roles differ between societies, why women had more rights in some places than others and why it continues to change over time.
No one will experience their gender the same, even those in the Queer community.
If gender roles and expectations were fact biologically, then there would be more structure and consistency with the gender roles in each society. Even the shift in expectations, ideas and jobs within the community within just the last few years alone further prove this point.
Yes I'm writing an essay on this. Yes I had to say it now
