"Usually the way they hold themselves and their body language. I normally check that before anything else. Had to learn how to read that kind of thing quick when arriving at an emergency scene to gauge who needed the most help first. It's stuck with me ever since."

"I'm still working on the plans but in short: stop hiding and to stop letting the idea of one person and what they did to my friends in the past dictate how I live my life now."

"Friends, past and present. The will to survive, no matter what. And watching The L Word at a sleepover when I was 13."

"See, that's the thing: I don't know. This is one of the things I need to change about my life in Redwood. I need to put myself out there more, find out for myself if anyone might have a crush on me and then, you know, do something about it. Instead of sitting back, wondering and getting a huge dose of feeling like I'm missing out."

How has coming to Redwood changed you?

"Redwood gave me the capacity to hope again. It also made me a litle too comfortable, maybe even complacent. I don't want to sound ungrateful to everything Redwood has given me but I need to make some changes in how I view my life here."
