Melora: I’ll say hi to Beans McGravy for you.

Melora: I’m going to the creek and the trails.  It was raining earlier so it’ll be all muddy, you won’t have fun.

Daylily: No probably not, well have fun and just remember what we talked about at dinner last night.  About the old house?

Melora: I know, I know.  You don’t have to worry about me.  When have I ever been caught doing something like that?  I’m an adult, I’m almost 22 years old now.

Daylily: You’re right, I’m sorry.  I just worry because I love you.  Have fun taking your photos honey.

Daylily: Going out to take some more photos?

Melora: Oh wow hey Day, I didn’t see you there.  Yes...yes I am taking more photos.  

Daylily: Where are you headed?  I was thinking about going for a walk down by the beach.

Puck: Sorry Dad.

Huck: Yeah sorry, you never yell.

Bramble:  I’m sorry for yelling, but you can’t be daring each other to do stupid crap, I know what you’re like.

Daylily: This has nothing to do with your dad’s story, that house is a safety hazard, you could really get hurt.  Now can we not move on?  Why don’t you tell us more about this assistant opportunity Mel?  

Melora: Um, okay, sure...

Melora: Sure, whatever you say.

Puck: “Whatever you say” sounds to me like you’re scared.

Huck: Worried that Beans McGravy might get you?

Melora: You’re not serious.

Puck: Then I dare you to go down to that house and get a photo inside to prove it.

Bramble: Enough!  There is no daring anyone to go to anywhere and I don’t want to hear one more word about that house.  The only thing that matters is that you kids steer clear -- understood?

Bramble: Oh it’s not just a story, I saw him with my own two eyes.  Beans McGravy!  I called out to him - but alas, he faded back into the rain.  But not before giving me a sinister smile and promising death if we ever met again.  So if you know what’s good for you, you’ll stay away.

Alfredo: Wait Dad, are you telling the truth?  Did that really happen?

Puck: No Fredo, it didn’t happen because there is no Beans McGravy.

Bramble: Look all that matters is that you stay away from that house.

Alfredo: You must have gotten a bunch of good photos today, you were gone for hours.

Melora: I did!  I took a bunch by the creek, and then I took some more on the trail near the library.

Daylily: You didn’t go down by that house right?  You know it’s unsafe.

Bramble: It’s where the ghost of Beans McGravy lives, and he is not to be crossed.

Puck: You can’t be serious, that dumb story?

Daylily: Mel, what about you?  Could be fun, working together you and me?  

Melora: Thanks Day, um, but I actually think I’m going to focus more on my photography right now.  

Daylily: Oh!  Well...that’s good too!  

Bramble: Personally I’m just glad to hear you’re going to start developing your gift.

Puck: Boo, Dad come on.

Puck: That’s not what bookkeeping means dingus.

Huck: I know that ass-

Daylily [sternly]: We are at the dinner table.

Huck: As...tually.  I know that actually, is what I was going to say.  But I don’t really know what you do Mom.  I mean, I’m still not even sure what a financial advisor is.  

Daylily: You wouldn’t have to know, it’s just some light secretary work.  

Huck: I think I’ll stick with Dad and the library, but thanks Mom.

Daylily: So I was thinking about hiring someone part-time for bookkeeping.

Melora: Oh?

Daylily: Mhmm, most of my work is done by email and I’m looking for some record-keeping when it comes to my client documents.  I was thinking about offering the job to anyone at this table who might want it?  Maybe someone looking to pay off a nearly five figure debt?

Huck: But I’m already keeping books at the library!

so i'm catching up on gen 5 and noticed that evening had a pretty gnarly neck wound when she climbed out of that river.... was that supposed to be from morning??? if so i'm more afraid of her than before D:

Under the cut because I'm gonna talk about neck trauma and wounds now.

Yes!! Evening never shows her neck fully because she has that giant scar there. Which is a quick visual cue for her, she can't hide her scars except by regular old human tricks like scarves and make-up.  Morning could hide any scars, but then, Morning doesn’t have any she needs to hide.

Morning did give her the scar!  As for how, okay just...this is going to be a little much buuuuut -- (also everything after this line break is going to be unpleasant in a way that deals with blood and neck trauma)

Evening had to cut the apple out of her throat.  Why?  In order for her to stop being dead (important), her body had to repair itself.  The stab wounds closed up and scarred over but what about the apple?  Her body kept trying to reject it, but that piece of the apple remained stuck in her throat.  So it had to be cut out.  This really did not...go pleasantly.

ANYWAYS I’m sure she’s going to share a little more about that soon to an appropriate person in a totally normal and friendly way.
