Huh. Donia didn’t think that she met such a grumpy guy in a long while. It was a shame because the gloomy mood didn’t do justice to that handsome face. Donia was a little upset about what happened but not blind to ignore the good looks and maybe those also were a reason why she wouldn’t let him shake her off just now. ❛❛Wow. Are you always such a ray of sunshine?❜❜, she spoke and folded her arms. ❛❛A minute ago you were complaining about your head, I just want to be nice and considerate. No need to call any ex-girlfriends if someone’s already in attendance.❜❜
That was a bit of a stretch as a reference to what he was being sarcastic about earlier and only a second later she was regretting to have said it. In the worst case it came off flirty and that wasn’t her intention in first place - just a side-effect she hoped he wouldn’t get down the wrong pipe since she was sincere. She was grateful and wanted to be helpful in return, just in case him helping her caused inconveniences. But it started to feel like helping her at all was the inconvenience itself. Donia cleared her throat and toned it a little down as she added rather sheepish: ❛❛I suppose you wouldn’t give me your phone number? I would like to express my gratitude.❜❜
Normally he had a certain way with the women, especially when he wanted something. A smile here and a well timed lean into a woman’s personal space there and he could have them eating out of his hand. Charm was a gene in his family the same way blond hair or the shape of his nose had been passed down. With her, he wasn’t trying and so he was surprised when she followed him. He knew he had saved her, but there was no need to try and harass him. “There’s no one in attendance, but you’re certainly doing enough hovering to take up the position.” Without the benefits, he almost added.
It wasn’t that she wasn’t an attractive woman. It was simply that he wasn’t in the mood for anything other than a glass of wine and his bed. Her thanks had been heard, noted, and now he was moving trying to move past the moment. “Definitely not.” Mathieu scoffed. That would only mean that she could try to reach her from the safety of her bed. “Really, there’s no need for it. Consider it an act of good karma.” One that would likely last him for the rest of the year to balance out the other things that he would do.

spicymcmi·:
He was blindsided by her demands and his initial open heart seemingly shut. Although it made him weary, nothing was going to stand in the way of him being left his father’s company. One he began his journey from the ground up. He’d need to be cautious as they continued their plans but he’d watch hell freeze over before he simply gave up. Besides, it wasn’t in his interests to ask her what she had planned. Whether or not he was growing suspicious, and was absolutely not going to give her his Italian villa, she was damn good at her job. A woman who stood next to him like Juliette would only mean greater things for the company - earnings he could ultimately use to better the lives of his employees. As for what she wanted, it was entirely up to her.
“What a beautiful start to our marriage Juliette,” he sighed. It did him well to sit, pen and paper in hand, because he had a feeling he would need to write down a concrete list of demands. “Fine. Beautiful, luxury wedding. As long as I have absolutely no say in the matter, I am happy. I hate weddings just as much as I hate monogamy. Something we’ll need to talk about but we’ll get there. Anything else?” The wheels in his mind turned. They would need a contract drafted up but his legal team was under his father. He imagined the older Sheffield would be able to bribe them enough to break any confidentiality agreement. His gaze flickered back to Juliette. Funny enough, he still trusted his to-be wife more than his father. The man needed therapy. “You can get that beautiful Italian villa… when we’re married. Vacation there all you’d like. Before? Well, you know investments. Don’t put it all in when there’s too large of a risk with little guarantee of a return.”
When she made the demands, she did so already sure of the fact that he wouldn’t be able to turn her down. He had already declared to a room of people that she was his secret fiancee and so she held all the cards. That was a place that she enjoyed being in. “Don’t tell me you were naive enough to believe that I would agree to it simply out of the kindness of my heart or because of your rousing speech.” If he had truly thought that she would, they were going to need to add that to the list of things they would need to discuss before they finalized everything. He wouldn’t survive very long as CEO if he believed the best in people.
Juliette now had a vested interest in his success in the take over of his father’s company because this really was a coup. Although their marriage was going to be strictly business, their names would be joined together and his reputation would also affect her. She was even willing to go so far as to act star struck and in love when his father might be around. It wouldn't be hard since he was an attractive man. He didn’t know all the resources that she could devote to this, but his success was guaranteed. “We’ll put it in the pre-nup.” she said dismissively. It really didn’t matter when the deed was transferred to her, so long as the end result was still the same and she walked away from the marriage with it. “Think of it as your wedding gift to me, Griffin. More expensive than a mail order bride, but at least you get legitimacy.” and she gave a small laugh at her own joke.

If he was laughing at her antics, neither was Stella aware of it nor did she mind it. The smile suited him and made him look even more handsome. Which made her wonder why no woman stayed with him for long. He was a perfect gentleman, devastatingly handsome, highly intelligent, ridiculously strong, and very witty. What more did those half-brained chicks want? Well, perhaps that’s why they didn’t stay with him for long; they were half-brained, after all. She frowned at his words, blinking a few times in confusion. “Why?” She asked though, she was already beginning to put her arms around his neck. The question wasn’t born out of reluctance, but out of curiosity. Even in her inebriated state, Stella was curious and wanted answers. “Mmh, you smell so good,” she hummed as she inhaled his scent, given how close they were, “were you wearing this cologne all evening?” Stupid question, but that’s what drunk people did.
As soon as he scooped her up in his arms, he immediately began moving towards the stairs with a wide stride. He still had some strength left in his body from his military days and it didn’t matter that she weighed almost nothing in his arms, but Adriaan didn’t want to try and push himself. It would make for a worst night if he ended up dropping her and he didn’t trust that she would be able to catch herself in time. He hadn’t taken her home just to fail at the last minute. It was the least that he could do for her. He never felt that he contributed much from his side of their friendship. Stella was a stunningly beautiful woman with a sharp brain to match, current drunk moments aside since it had been partly his fault for encouraging her. So he did his best to keep her company and take care of her, even if he did do it with a little bit of snark. “Cologne?” he glanced at her out of the corner of his eye and gave a small laugh. “I don’t wear that shit. It’s a waste of money.”

The words he said were extremely reassuring to her. Their relationship was new and for political gain but with their history it was easy for her to erase that duty from her mind, what she was focused on was finally acting on every ounce of her feelings that she had towards Mathieu.Feeling his hands naturally drift up her dress and held her waist caused a smile to spread across her face. “We do yes, I plan on giving you all of me and spending more time with you now that I don’t have to hide or sneak to our meadow to see you.” Daenerys meant it every time, wanting nothing but a fruitful marriage base on everything good between them, and the bad parts like their stubbornness or miscommunication. After all the worrying she had about meeting her future husband it turned out to be someone she had already cared about so deeply. “A wench?” Daenerys’ voice went up a little, rolling her eyes as she rested her arms around him. “If you’re taking a wench it will be me.” She smirked. A wench. “Remember you’ve promise about taking me anywhere at any given time Mathieu.” Dany smriked, keeping his face squashed with both her hands she broguht his face close to her, kissing him slowly but full of all the feelings she’s held back for years.
His adjustment to being engaged to one woman and one that wouldn’t stand for him sleeping with others had happened a lot quicker with her only because it was Daenerys. If it had been a princess that he had never met before, he doubted that he would have been so willing to tie himself to only one woman. He thought it harsh to call himself loose, but it did encompass his feelings about sex and relationships as a whole. His long time friend with benefits back home had never cared much if he slept with other women as long as she knew about it. That was the arrangement he had been used to, but he was sure that if he even considered suggesting that to Daenerys, she was likely to fly into a rage like he had never seen before. No, she would expect loyalty from him and the idea of her being with anyone else didn’t exactly fill him with warm and fuzzy feelings either. If he wanted her to himself, then he would reciprocate by also giving himself only to her. “Of course. Who else would I want to bend over in such a way?” Mathieu smirked up at her.

valarmorghulis--valardohaeris·:
Dany chuckled softly. Hearing the storied from his mom just caused her smile to widen. The him that she knows now still has elements from when he was a child, growing up in this very house. The only person that could tell Adriaan storied like this was Woodhouse, he wasn’t really blood family but he was the closest thing to a legitimate parent that she could have ever asked for. “If you saw the panic he had when I was giving birth you definitely would feel satisfied.” Dany teased, nudgin Adriaan in his side a little. That memory of him would forever stay in her mind, panicking about their daughter having a boyfriend before she even took a gasp of air for herself. Before she said anymore stories his words caused her to feel a little embarrassed and shy that she wanted to spend some quality time with her future mother in law, it reminded her just how young she still was, despite how mature she had to be when it came to her families business and what she had to do. “Yes, so. I spent the last few weeks learning traditional recipes and was hoping to cook and learn a thing or two from you… And one day we can teach Rhaaelyn the same.” Dany glanced at the two of them, feeling the shade of red in her face saying it outloud, but she still hoped for the stamp of approval from his mother. “If you don’t have any ingredients here then I’ll be happy to buy some before we start.”
Even though he had expected her to bring that up once again, he had to roll his eyes at her nudge. All of his concerns back then had been completely valid and he didn’t feel any different about the issues that he had raised. The idea of his daughter dating anyone still drove him crazy. The only difference was that now he had learned to take a breath and try to take it one day at a time. He still had to make sure that she would actually make it to dating age. As soon as she could walk, she might just hit her head too hard on a corner or something. Meanwhile, his mother looked more than pleased at Dany’s offer to cook with her. “Oh, well I was just going to make some stamppot which isn’t very hard.” Adriaan’s stomach let out a low growling noise at the mention of the traditional comfort dish and he smirked without apologizing to anyone for it. There was a million different ways to prepare it depending on what vegetables a person used, but it was all delicious to him. “You’re more than welcome to join me in the kitchen though. My boys only come in to steal a bite when they think I’m not looking.”

Donia noticed that his balance seemed a little off once he stood and her hands already reached forward, but then she thought twice and drew them back again to not even conjure any assumption. Ths guy didn’t seem to be in the best mood - whether it was because of the almost-accident or due to something else that happened before, maybe it wasn’t a good idea to pester him in any way. But then again, Donia was a kind soul and while she didn’t appreciate rudeness she was still able to be lenient due to the matter of circumstances.
She turned her head as he walked past her, both perplex as irritated, and she decided to not be fobbed off by him like that. Her steps were a little shaky but she did her best to catch up with him, this time attentively observing the traffic as she did so. ❛❛W-Wait! I’m not okay, I almost got hit by a car and you did, too. How’s that not a big deal for you? You sure you didn’t hit your head hard?❜❜
He did give her words a second of consideration before simply brushing them aside. He had not been in any danger from his position of safety on the sidewalk. It was hardly worth pondering over any longer. “Oh I’m sorry.” he rolled his eyes at her. “Let me start crying on the sidewalk and then call up all of my ex-girlfriends to tell them my life flashed before my eyes and I had an epiphany that life is too short and I want them back.”
Actually if it weren’t for her sending them both to the sidewalk, he would still be in perfect condition. She had actually done more damage to him than the car had. “I almost got hit. I did not actually get hit.” he told her slowly as if he were talking to a child without missing a step as he continued walking to his townhouse. “Ergo, I’m okay.”

pumpkinwriites·:
Theodore remembered how his kid brother Thomas always got into everything he wasn’t supposed to and it brought a fond smile to his face as he watched the newborns. One day soon they’d all be adventuring through their homes and on playgrounds; getting into trouble. It would be a wonderful thing and hopefully he’d never see them at the hospital waiting to be seen by him or anyone else for that matter. He said a small quiet internal prayer for them all to lead happy and healthy and full lives before his page went off. It was just a consultation and although urgent the family must have left because it wasn’t dialed as an emergency so he could spare the woman a cup of tea. “Oh I’m in no rush,” he admitted with a dry humorless laugh. “I could use some tea maybe a sandwich or something before heading in. And you’re not wrong, I am one of those and I do have a pager,” he said moving from where he replaced the chair. “It won’t take but a moment, I don’t want you to miss seeing your godchild as soon as they make their grand entrance,” he said kindly with a smile before pulling himself up and pocket the stuffed rabbit in the pocket of his coat. “Shall we then, miss Lilith?”
It was probably one of the most quintessential British habits that she had where she enjoyed having a nice hot cup of tea whenever she wanted to relax. Some people enjoyed coffee, but she had never gotten a taste for it even when she filled the cup with cream and sugar. It just didn’t taste the same. Tea was like liquid happiness in a cup and it just soothed her soul to drink it. There was a million different kinds with a million different flavors, but she was sure that if she told him all of this, he would think that she was crazy for overthinking a simple drink so she kept her mouth silent on the matter. She simply accepted his kind offer with a genuine smile. “We shall.” she beamed at him. “Lead the way.” Lilith waited for him to begin walking in the direction of the tea shop that he knew about and then fell into step beside him. Luckily for her, he wasn’t twice her size and so she didn’t need to jog in order to keep up with him. Her mother would probably be furious to know that she was walking with a stranger to some unknown place, but there was this air about him that was trustworthy to her. As they walked, she turned head to look at him and ask, “So tell me... which one is it? Doctor or cop?” He didn’t look like that latter, but she didn’t want to assume in case she offended him.

Donia was just trying to be helpful so the rather harsh retort stunned her for a couple of seconds. She drew her hands back and raised them, showing her palms in a rather placating way but the frown already appeared and would probably stay for a while. ❛❛Alright, alright. I just… never mind.❜❜ She decided to overlook the rudeness in favor of him not being exactly happy about this incident just as her. All in all she couldn’t blame him, right?
She took a deep breath and pushed her upwards. Her legs were still a little wobbly but standing felt a lot better. She hissed quietly as she picked little pebbles off of her scratched knees that stuck to her skin and her gaze drifted to the man for another time. She remained silent for a long moment before she said in a lighter, almost appeasing voice: ❛❛You have very good reflexes. One second later and I wouldn’t have gotten off that cheaply.❜❜ Then she added: ❛❛Thank you.❜❜
If he were being honest and if he had been in a better mood, he would admit that the girl in front of him was rather cute with her wild blond hair and big eyes. She was just the type of woman that he would have been interested in if he had seen her on a night out at a bar. Mathieu stood up from the sidewalk a little wobblier than he would normally be and dusted himself off, focusing on himself rather than looking at her.
Unfortunately for her, he hadn’t started this meeting with the intention of seducing her and so his mood was less than pleasant. Now more than ever, he just wanted to get home. Maybe crack open a bottle of wine for himself before settling down to relax and eventually doze off. “You’re welcome.” he told her. “If you’re okay now, I’m heading home.” and he began to walk away from her.
