My guy is innocent in all of this. LaCroix is just being a salty bitch.

Reblogging this because I find these HIGHLY interesting. Also glad to see I'm not the only one who headcanons that Isaac was embraced by either Houghton or Dominiguez. In my personal canon for my game he is the Childe of Christopher Houghton from the 1910's after Hollywood was established as a Muncipality and started dabbling in film since Isaac mentioned being as old as Hollywood itself. For Nines I always assumed he worked under MacNeill for a time after building a name for himself as a Fledgling and catching his eye and that MacNeill acted sort of like an adoptive sire to him after his actual sire affectively threw him to the wolves, be it intentionally or completely unintentionally via being caught up in circumstances that never allowed them to mentor their Childe properly by any means. Though it's difficult to tell with the Brujah because of how they tend to embrace people. Not all of them make for particularly- proactive- sires. And that the reason why Downtown didn't have a Baron by the time we were waltzing our glorious behind about there? MacNeill flat out fricking dipped out with the assumption that Nines or anyone else would take care of it. Like the interpretation of Damsel being embraced by a Brujah who specifically embraces young college students and youth activists just to toss them in the front lines with little in the way of guidance and that being a potential motivation for her to become a Den Mother over other Brujah. Who knows, perhaps even fellow Childer and other Brujah embraced under the same circumstances to provide them with some semblance of a support system after effectively being left to their own devices. I feel like that would actually add a lot to her character. Also adds onto her relationship with Nines, perhaps initially she was unsure about being an actual "den mother" type at first in regards to how she takes care of her own kin, other than playing the part of supportive albeit eually as emotionally unstable big sis, and sees Nines as not just a leader but also an example. Also of Skelter being taken in by Nines and Damsel somewhere along the fray because people keep thinking the man is just, yet another abandoned Brujah left to his own devices only to learn "OH SHIT. YOU'RE MEANING TO TELL ME YOU WERE A GANGREL THIS ENTIRE TIME? DAMN SON. Then again, that ALSO makes sense." DHAJFJAJFKAKF. Because yeah. Gangrel aren't exactly Parent of the Year TM material either. (Almsot EVERYONE still treats him like he is a Brujah though because he may not be an actual Brujah but to them he's a Brujah in spirit~)

Also GODDAMN I ADORE the take on Gary Golden and his sire and how it is essentially just a cycle of abuse rooted in jealousy and spite and the whole mindset of "Lemme knock that arrogant little brat down a peg"

I have a couple! Nothing really solid, as i have a one track mind that typically involves lacroix, nines, and/or Lunchbox, but some ideas are floating around here n there

long-ish post below, focusing on a couple characters with no canon sire mentioned in-game

LaCroix - have mentioned it before, but Sire was a piece of shit that exacerbated a lot of the issues we see ingame. Long lasting scars that influence his behaviour and thought patterns to the point of dysfunction. Was obsessed with the image they and those associated with them put forward, especially their Childer.

Nines - Sire abandoned him, yes, but I hc it was either due to a mass embrace tactic deployed by macneil and acted out by multiple anarchs under him, or the sire had tailed Nines for a while before making the decision to embrace him, because they felt he would be the kind of kindred the Anarchs would need in the coming years. And maybe they did want to show him the ropes but were killed by the Camarilla/Sabbat, or had to flee the city. 

Damsel - Brujah that specifically embraces college students and young activists believing they’re what the Anarchs need to fill their front lines etc. Doesn’t make for the most stable group of fledglings, all that righteous anger and propensity for being overly zealous

Skelter - wandering Gangrel that saw a kindred spirit in him. Stayed just long enough to tell him he drinks blood now, sunlight hurts, and to stay away from the cam before disappearing. Skelter occasionally hears from them every now and again, or at least who he thinks is his sire. 

Gary - Sire, who was also a cleopatra embrace, brought Gary into the fold to ‘knock him down a peg’ - who then did the same to Imalia, who just might do the same to another poor soul down the line. Cycle of abuse/ whatever that is classed as n such. Resembled your count orlok type of nosferatu; maybe had a hand in helping the development of VTMB’s unconventional, walkable sewer systems

Bertram - Spy/Cock Robin type sire who taught him how to Listen and Pay Attention to the goings on and rumours. Want to say semi-renegade Nosferatu Antitribu that gave Bertram a pretty detached rundown on the political everything to do with VtM; at first moulding Bertram into their protege, then just letting him do his own thing as they either fled from, or ignored, Andrei’s bullshit

Isaac - I vaguely wonder if it’d be feasible if he was Christopher Houghton’s childe after the latter killed Dominiguez in ‘44. As a way to both stay connected to, and control, the burgeoning Hollywood, as well as stay in the loop about Anarch matters, namely involving MacNeil. Embraced Abrams because of his age and stature in Hwood; Christopher seeing both as a sign that he’s a Good Childer and won’t fuck up like his last ones, surely

Now imagine him going through the script of Nosferatu(2024) and Sinners not even 2-3 years later to do the same thing, only to weep in joy out of that feeling of "FINALLY. SOME GOOD CINEMA. OH GOD THIS IS LIKE CREME BRULEE TO THE SENSES AFTER MULLING THROUGH MORBIUS FOR MONTHS ON END BACK IN 2022. FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS IT." Only to do a double take on Sinners and wonder what the ever living hell a Sabbat flavoured Malkavian is doing in there and why does his main ability feel awfully a lot like Presence? Only reason he let it slide is because not only is Sinners a masterpiece but because while Remmick as a character probably feels a little bit like a call out post, there is enough misconceptions for that to slide under the Cammies' noses without causing a masquerade violation somewhere DAJFJAKFKA. PROBABLY WOULDN'T HELP THE TZIMISCE THO WHO HAVE THE BANE OF HAVING TO BE INVITED INTO PLACES. Because now everytime they ask if they can come in people may or may not assume they're a goddamn Vampire.

Actual artwork of Isaac Abrams? In this day and age? I swear, this is a rare find. I swear, Isaac really ain't appreciated enough. Same with Ash. I feel like Ash gets dismissed a lot as well. Simply because the man is going through shit and for tragic but rather valid reason. Either way I love these two. Especially Isaac. Isaac is one of my favourite characters from this game. Tied with Nines.

What it feels like to pre plan horrors beyond comprehension for your Coterie to run into for the Chronicle you're planning all the while listening to the most Cheerful ass Italian Opera you plan on playing in the background. Mixed with such Horror Soundtrack classics such as the Little Nightmares and Hannibal soundtrack~

Let's just say uh.

There are plans, with my aggressively Italian Hecata and his new found French roommate who happens to be our Hecata from our last Chronicle. Both creepy ass Middle Aged White Men who you should never allow near your children btw.

The one canonically listens to stuff like Libiamo ne'lieti calici while doing shit that would violate the Geneva Convention.

Sometimes you just got to allow yourself to be a little evil now and then.

I made a post about this JUST earlier this evening in response to another individual in this community that brought up this issue.

About this EXACT issue. And I second this. Hard. I'm fine with people giving their Nos a disability as long as it isn't their entire visual identity. Like, they're supposed to be ugly as all sin, but then it's just, someone with burn scars or Bell's Palsy or a cleft lip among other physical disabilities that affect one's appearance. AND if they're intended to be a disabled individual from before their embrace.

As well as if they actually sit down and educate themselves, consult others on the matter and in general just, approach the whole situation with empathy and respect. If it's for the purpose of a meaningful story, including if it's one that is written with the intent to look at the stigmatization towards physically disabled individuals in society both alive and undead. But other than that just. Please. Be more creative overall. As stated previously, the Nosferatu are one of the very few clans where you could go absolutely BATSHIT in regards to exploring the more monstrous and overall unconventional aspects of Kindred. To play around with animalistic features and corpse like features among other more grotesque inspirations from folklore. There is just SO MUCH potential to be as chaotic as possible. Yet not enough people take the opportunity. And frankly. It peeves me out.

I think it's important for vtm players to understand that if you're going to go the route of a horribly disfigured nosferatu who can't go out in public except in october when everyone just assumes they're going to/coming from a costume party, you should probably try to make their disfigurements like, clearly supernatural and unmistakeable for...

EXACTLY. I second this. Just. Please. Have some empathy for the people who actually have physical disabilities that affect their appearance. Not everyone is okay with it.
