I don’t see anyone talking about the calendar in the church, and that’s a real shame because, on close inspection, I think it’s implying a soon to be timeskip:

As you can see, there are three days marked off on the calendar that would seem to correspond with the days of the previous chapters so far. The first one being for Chapter 1, second for Chapter 2 and 3, and third for Chapter 4. If we look ahead at the negative space in the row after that, there’s room for three more slashes of the same size (which is already interesting since it implies Hometown has a 6-Day Week, but more on that later). The next space available would be for Chapter 5, the day of the Festival, and then there’s a day after that too for Chapter 6, but what’s most interesting is that there’s a day circled on the calendar right below the space that Chapter 6’s day will be on. In other words, once we get to Chapter 6, there is a really important day… one week later.

Does this mean that Chapter 7 will take place one week after Chapter 6? I think it does, and this isn’t the only piece of evidence. Think back to what we learn in the beginning of Chapter 1. Asriel is coming home from college NEXT WEEK. This became curious to me after Chapter 2’s ending. I was assuming that Hometown had a 7 day week like ours, and that each chapter would correspond with a day of the week, but after that ending, Chapter 7 was suddenly on track to end on Day 6. Were we going to cut to a couple days later during Chapter 7’s epilogue to get Kris and Asriel’s reunion? Maybe. But now, with two important things slated for next week, the day on the calendar and Asriel’s return, and that day on the calendar being one week after Chapter 6 takes place, I now feel confident that we’ll be getting a timeskip between Chapter 6 and 7, and Asriel will be home for all of Chapter 7.

The biggest question this raises for me now: What will Hometown look like when he returns?

Omg I wonder if we’ll actually see a design like this for Noelle in a later chapter. Susie very directly said that she was into that look for her to Noelle’s face and we all know how much Noelle wants Susie to like her. Maybe something like this is what she wears to the festival in Chapter 5?

Funny you mention that, I actually used a line of thinking like this to predict that Kris definitively wasn’t the Knight shortly before the big reveal. Chapter three in terms of overall style, not color but the way that it feels, was so different from one and two that it felt like a separate “artist” with a noticeably style was behind the canvas.

so, I noticed a neat thingy when playing Deltarune chapter 4 for the second time, and just wanted to post about it - this includes extensive spoilies for chapters 3 and 4, including detailing major plot elements and the superbosses of these chapters - these are below the read more

so, Kris is explicitly shown to have opened the dark fountain in Deltarune chapter 3, and Kris could not have created the dark fountain in chapter 4 (at all points in which the fountain could have been created, Kris was either with Susie or at the Holidays' mansion), and it's heavily implied to have been created by either Carol or the roaring knight who we fight at the end of chapter 3

notably, when we enter Susie's dark world in chapter 4, the colours are different to the dark worlds created by Kris et al - in the setting, this is explained by the idea that Susie is a different person to whoever is creating the dark worlds, leading to them being different - which is in sharp contrast to Kris et al, who, in spite of being notionally different people, all create dark worlds which visually look similar to one another

this indicates that, for whatever reason, The Knight and Kris are registering to the dark worlds as being the same person, in spite of them clearly posessing 2 different bodies, even in the light world (Kris could not have opened the c4 dark fountains, and The Roaring Knight is seen in the light world and the dark world on screen at the same time as Kris)

<speculation time>

I suspect that this links back to the idea of puppetry that are explored with Jevil and Speo, and to a lesser extent Gerson, during their boss fights, where, to some extent, they are expressed as puppets, or people who refused to become puppets, of some malevolent entity

notably, they all hold shadow crystals, and Gerson is stated not to have succumbed to this because he didn't care to use the crystal - after defeating the Knight in chapter 3, they also drop a shadow crystal, indicating a connection to these same ideas of puppetry

I suspect that, through some different means, as only 5 shadow crystals are stated to exist, or in the alternative through that same means if Seam is just... incorrect, Carol, Kris, and *possibly* December (there's extensive speculation that she is The Knight that is fought at the end of c3) are puppets of whatever is within the shelter

there is a part of this idea that does stump me to some extent, and that's how the central dark fountain could be explained - the colours of that dark fountain are consistent with those opened by Kris et al, but the idea that this was opened by one of them feels... odd, and I'm not really sure how that would work with this, if anyone has any ideas, I'd be interested to hear them

POTENTIAL DELTARUNE CHAPTER 4 SPOILERS UNDER CUT

I was just recently replaying the Holiday Manor segment and sitting still to get more dialogue between Susie and Noelle, and I highly recommend you do so as well. Apparently Dragon Blazers 2 ALSO has a “weird route” that Susie accidentally got every time she played since she didn’t know she could be nice to people. There’s also a line during the closet scene where she talks about potentially inviting someone from a different school (who may or may not be real. I unfortunately wasn’t recording what I saw) to join in on the festival!

EDIT: I double checked, and the “person from a different school” was Susie referring to Ralsei. She brings it up in the context of the two of them getting flirting lessons from Kris lmao
