Hello, newbie Hellenist here! I heard that there's a whole event in Greece for Dionysus somewhere at the verge of March and April - the Dionysia. I know it's ancient but I've also seen a video on the tic tac app of it, or at least sth very similar.
I want confirmation from someone that knows whether it's happening, anyone who knows pretty pls. I really wanna go in 2025 but I'm not from Greece so idk and don't want to go just to find out that what I saw and heard about was a fake:((

hear my yap on the thunder saga
my two favorite songs are Suffering and Thunder Bringer, not only because of the song itself but also because of the symbolism
Suffering:
i'm not talking about violin - Penelope's instrument - not appearing in the song hinting it's not her because I DIDN'T NOTICE IT UNTIL JAY POINTED IT OUT
my tiny little brain at the very beginning went "the 'eh's and 'ah's sounds how sirens would" and greek mythology has roots deep inside my brain because i've live laugh loved it for most of my life
by Odysseus saying he's afraid of the water you can already tell he's lying because what good captain goes by ship and declines to set a foot in water?
if you know your greek myths you also know that Odysseus only had a daughter with Circe (we don't even talk about that in EPIC so shhhhhhht) but by Odysseus in The Horse and the Infant you already can tell he only has a wife and a son
i'm also a psychology nerd so... how could i not? in psychology there's this thing that you see the world how you are; meaning here that Odysseus is a liar, and so he sees others as potential liars, which surely helped him aside the beeswax
another thing is the siren's high voice - there's also a thing where your voice pitches higher when you're lying: when the siren is talking about the lair of Scylla her voice is still high, but not as squeaky as previously. "This is your only way home, the lair of Scylla" is also sung on the highest motes, which might show that there might have been another way, but maybe just maybe the siren felt Odysseus not getting convinced and decided that if she's not eating a sailor today Scylla might as well get that privilege lmao
also wtf would be Penelope doing in open sea? and if it were really her Odysseus wouldn't be asking for a way home because well THAT'S HIS WIFE SHE WOULD KNOW, NO?
In Thunder Bringer I'd like to point out the siren's line because it might signify many things:
Odysseus recalls Penelope as a reason to stay alive
He wishes he'd let the siren take him because that would be easier than making the choice
He realizes that if not for the siren he would have probably forgotten his wife's voice which motivates him to get back home
He's afraid that Penelope's really with another man
He's afraid that Penelope might be considering suicide like his mom
He's afraid that Penelope already lost hope that he's alive but the difference is that he didn't meet her in Hades
If that's what was running through his head, he might as well considered picking himself to reunite with his beloved, even dead
Thanks to the prophet he didn't :DD

HELP i don't know which version i prefer: tanned Apollo, lighter skin Artemis or light skin Apollo, tanned Artemis
HEARMEOWT on how cool tanned Artemis would be because her brother just won't stop following her around and she has no way to get rid of him (but she loves him anyway)

Clarisse also went "give he that mf ima kill him" and attached a corpse to her chariot and just showed it off by riding around😭
The Last Olympian spoilers‼️
Silena Beauregard took Clarisse's armor and died because of a fight she was not meant to be participating in. You know who this reminds me of? Patroclus. The difference is that Patroclus wasn't able to die peacefully in Achilles's arms :((
