ALL BLACKS - The most prolific teams across any sport

The wonderful world of theater

Theater is a literary genre created to be represented. It is the art of composing dramatic works. The performing arts has been related with everything documents, interpretation, production, changing rooms and settings. Drama has Greek origin and means "to do", and is associated with the idea of action. It is understood by drama the history that narrates the events of some characters.

The theater has been used as a complement to religious celebrations, as a means to disseminate political ideas, to spread propaganda, as entertainment and as art. Also known as theater is the building where the plays are represented.

Beginnings of the theater

 The theater was born in Athens, Greece, between the 5th and 6th centuries BC. The Athenians celebrated the rites in honor of Dionysius, god of wine and vegetation. These primitive ritual ceremonies eventually evolve towards the theater, constituting one of the main cultural achievements of the Greeks. Each one of the cities and colonies counted on a theater.

GREEK THEATER: The actors used to wear masks that allowed visibility and helped the spectator to recognize the character's personage. Ancient Greece flourished in between 550 BC. C. and 220 a. C .. Greek theater originated in a circular outdoor space called (orchestra), in which dances were performed. It was a place of smooth and compact earth arranged for the representation of choral songs, one of whose varieties, called ditirambo, was, according to tradition, the progenitor of attic tragedy. All the great theaters were built in the open air.

THE TRAGEDY: Tragedy is a dramatic representation capable of moving and causing grief, which has a fatal outcome. They emphasized the writers ESQUILO, SOFOCLES and EURÍPIDES.Characteristics: Written in verse and structured in scenes, The works are solemn and the stories are based on myths or old stories with little action. Some Some works are: Prometeo encadenado y Antígona,  Edipo Rey,Electra y Orestes, Efigenia en Aulida y Efigenia en Taurida.

The Comedy: The comedy developed around the middle of the 5th century BC. The oldest comedies that are preserved are those of ARISTOPHANES. They have a very careful structure derived from the ancient rites of fertility. His comedy consisted of a mixture of satirical attacks on public figures. By the fourth century BC, comedy had replaced tragedy as a dominant form. Then there was a local comedy, called "new." In the works of MENANDRO, the great author of new comedies, the plot revolves around a complication or situation that has to do with love, money, family problems and the like.

Roman Theatre: The Roman theater didn´t develop until the third century BC. At first it was associated with religious festivals, but the spiritual nature was soon lost. As the number of festivals increased, the theater became an entertainment. The Christian Church attacked the Roman theater and contributed to the decline of the theater as well as to consider the people who participated in it as immoral. With the fall of the Roman Empire in 476 AD, classical theater declined in the West and didn´t resurface until 500 years later. Only the popular artists, known as jugglers and troubadours, survived and provided a continuity.

Medieval Theater:  The Spanish theater, like the European one, arises linked to the religious cult. The Mass is itself a drama, a representation of the death and resurrection of Christ. It will be the clergymen who believe the first theatrical dialogues: the tropes, with which they staged some relevant episodes of the Bible. These representations, were made longer and spectacular giving rise to a type of religious theater that was the medieval theater par excellence. Little by little profane and comic elements were added to these types of representations that, for reasons of decorum, ended up leaving the churches and began to take place in public places. oogleapis.

Studying Abroad

Facilities to get a VISA[1]

In USA, English language school has accepted you for admission to full-time study, the school will send you a document called an I-20 form, which is the application for an F-1 visa. Then, you will need to make an appointment for a visa interview and to pay some required fees.  If possible, apply three months before you plan to travel to the USA. This will give you extra time if there are delays at the embassy, or if you wish to appeal a decision in the event of a denial.

For Malta Non-EU nationals need to apply for a visa regardless of the length of time spent in Malta. When applying for a student visa, you should provide all the necessary information and documents as the Maltese Embassy will not consider half-complete applications. It is very important that all international students who stay for more than 3 months should apply for a residence document. The most important documents are: school’s letter of acceptance, bank statement, health insurance, original and copy of passport and form N – Study and form 1D – 1A.

The UK has specific requirements to people who want to apply for a Student visa under the Tier 4 (Adult) category. This kind of visa offers the student the benefit of developing an educational base in the UK while being permitted to work between 10 to 20 hours per week during term periods, depending on the course of study. If you want a short-term study visa you must provide your current passport, the evidence that you can support yourself during your trip (bank statements), details of where you intend to stay and your travel plans and a vaccine certificate (special for tuberculosis).[2]

The Melon

The melon’s origin is exactly Iran and then it was sent to Egypt. Cristobal Colon introduced this fruit in the American continent. In that time its size wasn’t bigger than an orange, but throughout the centuries they have expanded both in size and in kinds

The melon´s flesh is yellowish white, compact, crunchy and very sweet though little aromatic. The rind is green, very thin,  and in some cases it is reticular. Three varieties save in their cavity hundreds of pale yellow seeds. Its taste is sweet and refreshing.

The melon (also knew as Cucumis melo) as well as watermelons (citrullus lunatus) belong to the cucurbitaceas family. This is a big family in which other edible plants are found such the gourd, calabacin and cucumbers. The melons are climbing plants and their stems can climb up until four meters long normally.

This fruit grows in sandy soils and it is considered a summer fruit. The melon’s kind found in our country are: Future, Category and toads’ skin, they are all are characterized for having uniform fruits as for quality and production, lengthened and with a weight between 1,5 and 2 kilos.

The melon is consumed throughout the year and it has several benefits. It is great to slim as it is almost all water, it is composed about 80% by water, for that reason it satisfies, hydrates and helps us to eliminate toxics through urine. This fruit also helps us to sleep better and it is good to stop the thirst, its consumption is recommended for diabetic people.

The melon can be eaten almost all the year, it is an excellent moisturizing with the advantage of low caloric contribution, for this reason it is possible to eat in the wished quantity without dread to consume excess of calories or sugar. It is indicated in diets of weight control and diabetes control. In addition, the melons’ seeds are pectorals and anti-spasmodic. In the treatment of the chronic bronchitis, cystitis and colic is recommends to drink a beverage made of melons’ seeds.

With the melon, you will be able to prepare the most delicious recipes like melon soup, the best salads with raspberries and skewer of ham with melon. There’s an app for that!

The term app turned popularly rapidly, so much that in 2010 was listed as Word of the Year by the American Dialect Society¹ and nowadays we can do different things with our mobile devices through them. 

They allow us to do things that we couldn’t do before but we love now and they keep people closer to their devices than before. 

We find apps in different operating systems like IOS, Android and Windows Phone, there are two types of apps:

Native applications: those that are developed for a certain operating system, are created exclusively for mobile devices and keep working even if you don’t have an internet connection.

Web applications: You can use them in a laptop and they are usually developed in Java Script or HTLM, however the internet connection is 100% necessary.

These Apps let us do a lot of activities related with our job, study and hobbies, in an easy way in which we can do things. 

There exist free and different applications for that you must pay, in average 20-30 % of the cost of the application is destined to the distributor and the rest is for the developer.

Within the advantages of using Apps we find: speed, easy access and connectivity with people.

The most common apps in social network are Facebook, Instagram, Google +; if we talk about messaging we found Whastapp, Skype, Facebook Messenger, about entertainment you decided if you want Youtube or Spotify, but If we want to talk about News we have BBC News, CNN, NY Times; and of course apps for productivity, games and sport, among others.

It’s your choice or your obligation? Now I am going to tell you about this… for a lot people, it is an obligation to do exercise, but be realistic, the chubby and obese people, as well as people with a bad physical condition, need exercise in their lifes to live a lot of more years or maybe in other cases just to be happy with their esthetic. Now there are some kinds of exercice that we can do.

Bodybuilding it’s the use of progressive resistance exercise to control and develop one's musculature. An individual who engages in this activity is referred to as a bodybuilder. In competitive bodybuilding, bodybuilders appear in lineups doing specified poses, and later perform individual posing routines, for a panel of judges who rank the competitors based on criteria such as symmetry, muscularity and conditioning. Bodybuilders prepare for competitions through a combination of intentional dehydration, elimination of nonessential body fat and carbohydrate loading to achieve maximum vascularity, as well as tanning to accentuate muscular definition.

CrossFit, Inc. describes its strength and conditioning program as "constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity across broad time and modal dominas, with the stated goal of improving fitness, which it defines as "work capacity across broad time and modal domains. Hour-long classes at affiliated gyms, or "boxes", typically include a warm-up, a skill development segment, the high-intensity "workout of the day" (or WOD), and a period of individual or group stretching. Some gyms also often have a strength focused movement prior to the WOD. Performance on each WOD is often scored and/or ranked to encourage competition and to track individual progress. Some affiliates offer additional classes, such as Olympic weightlifting, which are not centered around a WOD.

Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. They are intended to increase body strength, body fitness, and flexibility, through movements such as pulling or pushing oneself up, bending, jumping, or swinging, using only one's body weight for resistance.

We can affirm two things.

First, the exercise is necessary in your life, because this makes you a better person, physical and emotionally. On the other hand, with the exercise you will never be alone, the gym can be your new home, there your problems wil be solved hitting the punching bag.

Movies

Nowadays it is not necessary to have cable to watch movies because the internet provides many of them, some are even free. Therefore, movies are now available for everyone. Films are expressions of art where directors, producers,screenwriters and actors make us feel a variety of emotions like love, sadness and so on. There are movies that have been awarded by the most famous contests but there are also others which have been only recognized by people, even after years from their release. This edition takes a sneak peek to the best movies in each category.

Science fiction movies: These are movies that depict unreal situations based upon scientific facts. One of the best pictures in this genre is: Avatar, this one is a wonderful film directed by James Cameron in 2009. It tells a story about the intervention of humans in the environment of another planet. Director James Cameron hired the linguistic Dr. Paul R. Frommer to create a language from scratch for the Na’vi. It had to be easy to pronounce by the actors but did not resemble any single human language. Frommer created about 1,000 words. Na’vi are blue to create a conceptual parallel with traditional hindu depictions of god but also because director Cameron just liked the color blue. Most of the Avatar animals noises heard in the movie are recycled dinosaur noises from Jurassic Park.

Drama: These are the ones that represent human inner feelings while telling a story, usually romantic or sad. The Pianist is a movie whose story is set in the world war II. It is about a pianist who survives to the horrors of the war. This movie is based on true events about the Wladyslaw Szpilman life. The director Roman Polanski tried to make the film as faithful of an adaptation as possible .The principal actor Adrien Brody had to learn playing the piano, and he also got rid of his apartment, hold his car, and did not watch TV to connect with the feeling of loss required to play the role. Adrien suffered creating his character, he lost 14 kg doing a strict daily diet over a six week period.

Romantic Comedies: These movies have a combination of two worlds comedy and romance. Recently, people are talking about La la land, a love movie with amazing music and beautiful colors. Coregraphics are outstanding and this is one of the favorites to win the ceremony of Oscars to be held this year. Ryan Gosling took piano lessons before the film shooting started and he was able to perform the piano scenes we see in the movie. John Legend learned how to play guitar for his role.  This movie shares with Titanic (1997) and All about Eve (1950) the record for most Oscar nominations (14).

Conclusion: There is a great variety of movies that deserve to be seen by most people because they have enormous quality and awake our deepest feelings.  Some of these pictures were acclaimed by experts and some did not receive any awards but have obtained recognition throughout time.  Although there is such a big number of movies, we can take  a look at some of the best in each one of the most important categories.  This selection can be used to remember how we felt when we saw them or, perhaps, a good suggestion to enjoy, if we have not seen them.

Euthanasia

Also known as assisted suicide, physician-assisted suicide, or doctor-assisted dying, means to take a decision of ending a life to relieve suffering persistent and unstoppable.

Usually it’s a decision made for a very sick person with an incurable condition,

or in some cases patients that refuse treatment that is recommended by a doctor or some other health professional.

Besides, many religious people are opposed to euthanasia and they believe God decides when we die. In most of the countries euthanasia is against the law.  The euthanasia request of a patient is only legal in three European countries, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Euthanasia Classifications

Voluntary when a person has requested it for him/herself, with consent.

Involuntary: The decision is made by another person because the patient is incapable to doing so himself/herself. 

Some Most Controversial Cases of Euthanasia

The 14 year old Chilean Girl who was diagnosed with a terminal sickness with no cure, asked the President of the country the authorization to receive an injection that it will make her “sleep forever”. The healthy woman who wanted to die beside her ailing husband (George Coumbias and  Betty Coumbias).They were an inseparable throughout their 50 years of marriage and wanted to die together. While He suffers from heart disease, She was reported to be in excellent health.

The Belgian man who was killed by euthanasia after a botched sex change operation. He had three operations to change sex between 2009 and 2012 but his body refused the changes. In 2013, Nathan, was given legal euthanasia by lethal injection. He said: “When I looked in the mirror, I was disgusted with myself, it didn’t match my expectation”.

In 2012 the twins Marc and Eddy Verbessem 45 years old who were born deaf were euthanized in Belgian hospital because they were going blind. In one case, a 44-year-old woman with chronic anorexia nervosa, an eating disorder, was euthanized, along with a 64-year-old woman who was suffering from chronic depression.  Do you believe that the state has the right to allow suicide, or the administration of lethal drugs or should it be a free choice?

GUAJIRA’S CHILDREN

Guajira is a department of Colombia. It occupies most of the Guajira peninsula in the northeast region of the country, on the Caribbean Sea and bordering Venezuela, at the northernmost tip of South America. The capital city of the department is Riohacha. La Guajira has various indigenous tribes. “The Wayuus”. The economy of the department is mostly based on royalties from the coal mining at Cerrejon, natural gas exploitation and salt mines, is very popular a tourist destination “Cabo de la Vela”

The above description is amazing, but la Guajira has a big problem: 37.000 indigenous children malnourished, and the least 5.000 have died of starvation. That actual number or deaths is closer to 14.000.

The high rate of child mortally due to starvation is no exclusively caused by food shortage, but also by factor suchas corruption. Lack of water, not access to health care and extreme poverty.

Why? Because the royalties from the coal mining at Cerrejon natural gas exploitation and salt mines are used for other purposes and favors personal and political interests.

The possible solutions to solve this enormous problem are creating special programs for all family members, providing job and opportunities for parents in order to help them support their families.

Creating of water mills to supply water shortage and a very important topic good administration of economic resources and elimination of social segregation. It is very important that we Colombians become aware of this great problem, children are the future and today they are starving.

QUINOA THE SUPERFOOD

Quinoa the grain of the Incas, has been cultivated in the Andean high lands of South America for over 7000 years.

Quinoa comes from the quechua language spoken by many Indigenous people in South America.

It was one of the sacred foods of the Ancient Incas, a plant so nourishing, delicious and vital; they called it chesiya mama “the mother grain”. The legend states that the Incan Emperor would ceremoniously plant the first quinoa seeds every year.

Nutritionally speaking, the properties of quinoa are very healthy quinoa is much more than a simple grain and can be known as a “superfood” its composition is 70% carbohydrates and 15% proteins, with some lipids, fiber and many minerals making up the rest of the seed.

Quinoa is the only plant that has a similar level of aminoacids as soy.

Quinoa also contains the nine essential aminoacids, including lecithin that constitute a complete protein. This makes quinoa a highly recommended part of vegetarian diet.

It turns out that eating quinoa also reduces your chances of developing type 2 diabetes, but it can also help you keep those glucose levels balanced if you already have diabetes. 

If you are unfortunate enough to suffer from nasty migraine headaches, then you should be featuring quinoa in your regular weekly meal line up. Why? Quinoa is high in riboflavin, or vitamin B2, which promotes blood vessel expansion in the brain and reduces instances of migraine headaches.

Once cooked, quinoa is delicious and extremely versatile it maybe used in the place of almost any other grain, including rice to make everything from appetizers.

Quinoa Tabbouleh recipe:

In a saucepan bring water to a boil, add quinoa and salt, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes allow to cool to room temperature, fluff with a fork.

Meanwhile in a large bowl, combine olive oil, sea salt, lemon juice, tomatoes, cucumber, green onions, carrots and parsley stir in cooled quinoa.

Nintendo Switch

From the company that offers the well-know games Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda, we get the new Nintendo Switch, being the hardware that opens the next generation of video game consoles. It combines the essence of all the consoles that Nintendo has released in the last thirty four years. The globally release date was programmed for this year on march 3. Nintendo offers the console in two colors, Gray model and Blue and Red neon model. It has a cost of 299 dolars in the united states and 329 euros in Europe. 

The console allows to play both on the television and as a portable console. This characteristic lets you to continue playing your games at any place. Nintendo Switch has three game modes, the TV mode allows you to connect the console to the television to play in a traditional way. The table mode allows to support the console in a surface and using the allowside controls for two players, and finally the portable mode which allows to use the console to play in a portable way anywhere, anytime.

The Nintendo Switch offers a series of characteristics that make it a technological quality product and at the same time fun. The Nintendo Switch is composed of a kind of tablet that contains all the processing power of the console. This tablet has a 6.2inches screen with a resolution of 720P, it has haptic technology that allows you to have sensations when you touch the screen. Allowsides of this screen we can find the two controls to play called JOYCON, these controls are so well developed that they contain technology like movement sensors, HD vibration, infrared camera that detects distance, objects and movements, among other characteristics. The nintendo switch in portable mode has a battery life between 2.5 hours to six hours, this depends of the game you are using. In TV mode allows to display a FULL HD resolution. Nintendo Switch support up to eight players playing simultaneous with only one physical game in a wireless local network with others Nintendo Switch.

It has been announced that there are more than 100 games in development for the Nintendo Switch. Among the games that coming, we find games like 1-2 Switch which is a series of mini games that allow two players to confront in different activities without even looking at the screen of the nintendo switch, activities such as comboys duel, table tennis, confrontation with swords and even a minigame in which you must milk a cow. This game allows to show the technology that the JOYCON encloses it. The JOYCON reports with fidelity who has been the fastest cowboy or who has hit the sword in the opponent, it also contains a minigame in which you must guess how many marbles are in a box and to wonder of all the JOYCON is like the box of marbles and due to the technology of HD vibration you feel that within the JOYCON there really a set of marbles.

Personally I will buy the Nintendo Switch for all the characteristics that it offers like the fact of carriyng it anywhere because I have few time to play and for the awaited game The Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild, the most beautiful game of the franchise for the style of art and graphic details, with a huge world to explore and a deep history. For sure I will get the console and the game at launch.
