Looking around again, trying to figure out if there were anyone lurking in the shadows with a flashing camera before turning back to her. "I would believe that, but they seem to be about in every corner of the world at every possible moment so..." he muttered bitterly, before muttering his shoe-size and taking the skates form the lady, bowing a thank you before walking over to sit down and put the skates on his feet, tying up the laces as tight as they went, after all who would want to fall over because a shoelace undone...on skates. Attention of anyone of any sorts was unwelcome and unwanted right now, on those precious moments of alone. And her, of course, but he didn't mind her company. He got up awkwardly, trying not to fall over at all, and making his way towards the rink. "Promise I won't regret it? If I fall over it's all on you." he chuckled, smiling at her.
"Trust me, you're doing fine, I can't even remember the last did this, I must have been about seven, eight? I can't even remember." he laughed, shaking his head, as he made his way into the ice, holding onto the railing for a while, getting his footwork right, the children made it look so easy, just step after step, but they were children, they would dive head first into a volcano if they wanted to. He smiled at her, watching her push herself onto the ice and skate happily, laughing slightly at the image of her, but not in a bad way. It was nice, he thought, not having to care or worry about performing or singing, just enjoying the moment. Right, enjoying the moment. He followed in her footsteps, gliding not as far away from the railing and regaining his balance, a few paces to side or her and a few paces right of her.
"I'm fine, I think, haven't fallen flat on my ass yet so that's always a plus." he laughed, turning around the corner with a little bit of effort, wobbling slightly but he moved his foot forward slightly and regained his full balance, watching as she skated further away, waving at her every time she did the same, he decided against going further out, his mind still lurking on the idea of the press being there, they would make up a whole heap of lies, twist the truth and deform it till there was nothing left of it's former self. "Are you okay?" he called out, chuckling as she fell over, grinning as she laughed and skating a little closer to her to ensure she was okay, nodding at the stranger to helped her up and for not the first time looking over shoulder for the sight of peeking eyes and cameras. He offered her his arm, just in case she wanted a little more support. "Nothing wrong with that." he chuckled softly, a soft and warm smile gracing his features.
"It doesn't really matter what we do," he replied with a shrug, his tone slightly bitter, "They'll find out either way." his eyes glanced over to hers, before smiling slightly at her, a child nearby falling over and he moved over to help them up, giving them a small smile before watching the child skate away, turning back to Nana. "It's fun though." he said to her, offering her his arm and again, "Shall we continue?"
Hazy Shade of Winter || Myungsoo & Nana
His kind smile made her smile ever winder and she was glad he accepted her offer. It would be quite embarrassing if he did not, in all honesty. She was glad to be able to speak to him in such a casual manner, walking with him to the rental booth, finishing her coffee and throwing it along the way. She noticed his conflicted face, knowing that they were both a little scared the press would find them together. People who take pictures for money sometimes misunderstand. She nudged him, “It’s alright. Everyone’s too busy with their families and loved ones right now,” she promised him. “Trust me,” she chuckled, taking off the hood of her thick jacket, smiling at the woman in the rental booth who seemed bored and disinterested in them. “Two please,” she said, paying and turning to him. “What’s your shoe size, Myungsoo?” she asked him, deciding to no longer call him by his stage name. Finding shoes that fit him, they went to sit down and find a place to put on their shoes. She felt a little awkward, since while she was close to some other members of Infinite, she didn’t know how to talk to him or how to make him comfortable. It was obvious he was unsure of what was happening. “Hey,” she smiled, deciding to use her advantage as a senior to get another smile out of him, “I said to trust me,” she winked, after putting up her shoes, she stands up and chuckled.
“I haven’t done this in a while,” she confessed. She wondered if he felt awkward because of her image as someone cold. But of course, that was only an image and not at all like her. He always seemed as cold as the weather, but she was sure that there was something more than just that. There had to be a Myungsoo behind the face of ‘L’. It would be interesting, maybe even adventurous, to be able to finally see him beneath all the rumours, fanservice, formalities and pictures. As she walked onto the ice, the chill was felt in her spine and a smile and a giggle, as soft as snow, left her lips. She wobbled a little bit on her feet, turning to him, asking him to join her. She watched all the people skating, doing much better than her. She looked nothing less than a child, still trying to walk on her own too feet. She watched him joining her and she deciding to brave her fear and she pushed herself off the rail, regaining some composure and some skill she had acquired the last time she had gone skating. She laughed loudly, glad to finally find her courage, skating much better than before. Sure she was still wobbling, but she was improving by the second. She skated around the circle a little, not moving far away from Myungsoo. She skated back to him, but clutched the side of the rink just in case. She wasn’t doing as bad as she thought she would.
“How are you doing?” she asked him, laughing a little bit. Wisps of cold air left her lips and she rubbed her bare hands together for warmth, glad to have a bit of exercise in the cold weather. “I know I’m being childish, but I’ve missed this greatly. I’m glad to be sharing it with someone,” she confessed, hoping he would take her words in good nature. She chuckled as she allowed herself to enjoy the outdoors, skating around the circle, waving to him whenever her eyes caught his. Her blonde hair shone in the the lights of the rink but her smile shone brighter than either of them. She felt like she was flying, feeling so childlike and free that she forgot for a moment that everything she did or said was seen by the public eye. She wished her freedom would encourage him to be childish as well, but she could only hope. She was going much faster than she should have, and before she knew it, she had fallen and slipped, landing on her butt. She burst into laughter, trying to get up but kept sliding. Her face was red from fun and embarrassment, but obviously happy. She tried not to get in the way of the other skaters, but she looked silly sitting there flat on her butt by herself. Finally, a stranger helped her and she bowed to them, thanking them for their assistance. She skated back to him. “Sorry, I think I’m enjoying myself too much,” she said, knowing she should have been quiet and slow.
“We’re going to get found out this way,” she said, skating slowly with him, hoping she didn’t bring that much attention to them. In reality, there were too many people who were enjoying themselves and busy with themselves to pay attention to them. All around her people were falling, laughing, holding hands and quarrelling.
How lovely it was.

Snowflakes pressed against the window pane, or flickering down to join the rest covering the pavement, with another sip of what was it, his second, third coffee, and another bite of what he was assuming to be a not-so-fresh muffin, Myungsoo sighed, his eyes flicking up to the world around him before concentrating back to the window, the white specks floating onto the sleeves of his jacket. He’d chosen to sit outside, out of the warmth and comfort of indoors, on a whim, even if the cold did sting his cheeks slightly and turned his breath to steam in the air. The rink was just across from his table, laughter and the general echoing buzz of happiness playing in his ears and he ran a hand through his hair, the soft hum of some song he should have recognised but he couldn’t be bothered doing so.  It was his time off, wasn’t it? Those rare moments of solitude, those he prized so highly and were indeed so very hard to come by.
‘This,’ he thought, ‘would make a good photograph’, he took a deep breath, watching exhale white against the transparent air and he smiled to himself softly, ‘the kind of photograph that’s on holiday greeting cards and on calendars’. The lovers, hand in hand, seemingly perfectly in sync with each other’s movements, the glide, and the turn around the edge of the circle. The children, holding onto their parents hands for dear life, their laughter filling the air and making it slightly warmer. They had that power, adolescents, the power to make things seem cheerier, the power to lie. And for the world to believe them. He sighed, finishing the cup and standing up to put it into the rubbish bin, wondering across to the pathway with the leftovers in hand, throwing it away and walking away. He wondered to the side of the rink, taking a deep breath and pausing it think if he should get another cup. Days like this, he thought, days like this should be more common, but that, of course was impossible and not that he would never truly admit it but he liked performing, but that was what he meant to think, that the simple life was the better life.
It looked fun. Not that he’d ever been. Not recently, or not since he was a little kid. He sighed, almost rolling his eyes at himself before he started to make his way towards it, wondering around the fence, not paying any attention whatsoever to where he was going. The sky was quite beautiful, he thought, the snowflakes adorned it quite well. He stopped suddenly, making way for a group of giggling children running ten paces in front of their parents, laughing and chuckling and he couldn’t help but smile softly before continuing to walk towards the rental. The wind was cold and he pulled his jack tighter around his body, doing up the zip and unrolling down his sleeves so they covered most of his hands. Staring down at the ground as he continued to walk, not watching where he was going before suddenly he ran into someone, a few drops of coffee landing on his coat but other than that nothing, he mumbled a “sorry” and not looking up to see who it was before he recognised the exclaim, his eyes looking up to see Nana, sending her a small smile, wondering why she was here too.
“Tis okay,” he smiled softly, wiping the cooling drop of coffee off his hand and continuing to smile at her. Of course, while it was rare to have time off, it was even rarer to be actually alone. Not that he minded, he’d met Nana a few times, and she seemed pleasant enough company, even on one of the ‘rare moments of solitude’. “Only a drop, never hurt anyone.”  He laughed softly before shaking his head at her offer, pushing the cup back towards her with a smile. “No thanks, already had one too many.” He shrugged, with a chuckle, looking over to the rental booth before looking away, tempted to leave, but it was even more tempting to stay and have a little bit of fun along the way. “I wasn’t going to, but, if you’re offering, sure, why not?”
Hazy Shade of Winter || Myungsoo & Nana
Another layer of snow graced the city of Seoul. It seemed to be growing colder as every day passed, and due to the cold, there were less people than she usually saw walking around the streets. Frankly, there were still many, of course. Many lovers, many families, many tourists- but the cold had gotten to some and for once in a long time, she saw some streets empty. It was interesting to see the city through her eyes, the last remnants of Christmas, and the winter thoughts enveloped her brain with ideas of ice skating and coffee. Christmas coffee was always Nana’s favorite. The crisp bitter taste dancing around on her tongue, and the feel of the warmth replacing the cold on her hands. She didn’t know where she found time for a walk during her difficult and busy schedule, but Nana always found time for herself somehow. With a smile, she continued to walk closer to the heart of the city, the crowds substantially but slowly growing in number and size. As she walked, she heard more laughter and more chatter. There was a child being scolded on the side, a couple holding hands not far away, and the snow slowly falling from the skies. The people around here were so busy with one another they did not yet notice it, but she did. Maybe it was because she was alone, or maybe because the others all had someone to distract them from the snow. She was only alone, but not lonely. With a smile, her craving for caffeine finally took control of her and she found the closest café.
Walking inside, she finally took off her heavy jacket that protected her from the cold, the warmth of the café providing her some solace in the piercing winter time. Sitting down and placing her jacket on the chair in front of her, she looked around and saw all the people around her. As always, there were so many people reading, writing, thinking. Many electronics were out of pockets, and it was quiet and everyone kept to themselves. The smell of coffee hit her as the barista served his customers. She stood up, fixing her red sweater to walk over to the counter. Ordering her coffee, she chose the one she always had. A cappuccino that suited her tastes appeared before her after she ordered and she thanked the barista before walking back towards her seat. She ordered her coffee to go, her soul wish to be able to wrap her thin long fingers around the cup. She smiled and sighed happily as the heat reached her fingertips and took a slow walk towards every inch of her body. She took a sip of the delicious coffee, savouring its taste. For a while, she did not do much but sit there and enjoy tranquility. A few minutes she found time to take little sips of her drink by the glass wall and look outside at the falling snow. It seemed rare that anyone in her line of work would be able to enjoy such serenity, and she felt incredibly blessed to have such a moment to herself.
Finally, she stood up and put on her heavy jacket once again. Picking up her coffee with both hands, as to wrap her fingers around it once again, she walked outside of the café and continued her journey through her city. She finally saw a skating rink with groups of people skating. Holding hands and, sometimes, trying to hold on to the edge, people were laughing and talking. It was a stark difference to the silence of before, but she felt happy wherever she went. She stood by the rink, watching the lights and the smiles of the people, taking in the scenery. With a smile, she watched the scene by herself, humming softly to herself. She kept watching them, and giggled softly whenever she saw someone falling down. She was not a bad skater, though, but she was very rusty. She took another long sip of her coffee, deciding that it might be time to see if she still had the ability to skate. Smiling, she turned around to walk to the skating rental close by, but accidentally hit someone. She made a sound of exclamation, almost dropping her coffee but quickly saving it from falling to the harsh cold ground. She split a little of the coffee on her hand but it was nothing to cry about. She looked up, realising she was still pressed against someone’s body. To her surprise, it was Myungsoo, or L, of Infinite. They had met several times before but mostly on work business, so usually never out like this. It surprised her that no one had found either of them yet, but glad.
“Sorry,” she said, moving off of him and bowing to express her guilt and embarrassment from her actions. She didn’t know what to say, wondering why he would be out like she was. She smiled at him, chuckling, “I hope my coffee didn’t hit you,” she said, taking another sip of her drink. Wondering if he was cold, she reached out her drink to him. “Would you like some?” she asked, not wanting him to feel awkward with her around. “I was..um, planning to go ice skating. It’s very rare we get time off, you know?” she chuckled, looking forward towards the people having fun. As much as she enjoyed the silence, she also wished to enjoy herself. “Would you like to join me?” she asked him, a friendly smile on her face.

"Is it a crime to be happy?" He laughed, a smile creeping across his features. "I don't know, to be honest, it's just a lovely day."
“Nothing,” she said with a grin, “It’s just nice to see a fresh face. What’s got you so happy, Mr. Never-Been-Better?” she chuckled.
