(it’s nothing personal — truly it’s not — she just doesn’t see herself as the relationship type unless she’s had adequate time to develop and come to terms with her feelings of you… which is, to reiterate, a very slow process)

being with her means accepting that there are two ‘loves of her life’ — you being one, and the other being poisons… or, well, medicinal ingredients and her work as a taster/apothecary in general but especially poisons/venoms/toxins
