Are there any apps you would recommend to learn latvian?

Oh boy, imo there aren’t any Latvian language apps that can teach you the language, only practice.

Memrise - if you want to widen your vocabulary, although the way this app works is really repetitive.

Tilde Translator - better for translating Latvian that Google translator.

Latvian Verbs - basically everything about verbs. Tenses, voices, conjugations, and so on.

Latvian Nouns - same, but with nouns, adjectives, numerals. Declensions and stuff.

Lociņš - little games and tests where you can practice using Latvian verbs.

How do you make questions in latvian?

A very basic run-down for questions in Latvian:

1) Add a question mark to a statement, and it becomes a question.

Tev ir zīmulis. You have a pencil.Tev ir zīmulis? You have a pencil?

2) For yes/no questions add the interrogative particle vai in front of the question.

Vai tev ir zīmulis? Do you have a pencil?

3) Interrogative particles

Kur ir zīmulis? Where is the pencil?Cik tev ir zīmuļu? How many pencils do you have?Kā tu dabūji zīmuli? How did you get the pencil?Kad tu dabūji zīmuli? When did you get the pencil?Kāpēc tev ir zīmulis? Why do you have a pencil?

4) Interrogative pronoun kas (what/who)

(nominative) Kas man iedos zīmuli? Who will give me a pencil?(genitive) Kā zīmulis tas ir? Whose pencil is it?(dative) Kam pieder zīmulis? To whom does the pencil belong to?(accusative) Ko tu dari ar zīmuli? What are you doing with the pencil?

5)Interrogative adjectives

Kurš ir tavs zīmulis? Which one is your pencil?Kāds ir zīmulis? What is the pencil like?
