Mobsters in love by Chiyoko Origami
The second in command to the respected and dignified boss of the Sawasaki group has one big secret: He has been harbouring a crush on his superior for decades! When their lives are on the line, will their true feelings surface?
This is a pretty cute love story. I was wondering through the first chapters how it would turn romantic for the boss, but they did it through slow burn and some high stakes situations. Even if the setting was that the mc was adopted by the boss, it was more adopted as, took him into the yakuza family, and the mc was old enough that it never felt truly parental to me. I'm not sure I really bought the Boss' feelings (maybe if he had been more subconsciously flirting throughout the start, and felt less... unbothered and oblivious emtionally) but in the end they had a cute dynamic.
I do always get a little weirded out by yakuza stories where it feels like they are more...like a nice business family, and the mc gang is all nice and good, and the only indication of gang-ness is that OTHER gangs come up and provoke them. In this one there were hints of the mc's side being brutal as well, but the camera always cut away before their enemies saw any real consequences. Then they just. never appeared again. I saw some comments wondering what happened to one of the villains hoping he won't be back, and I'm like sweet summer child. They shot him in the head most likely. They just didn't show us that.
There is no sex in this, they do a tasteful cut to black in the last bonus chapter, and I have to say that is HUGELY dissapointing!! What is the point of building sexual tension for three volumes and not letting me see them get it on!?!?

"where are the audio dramas made by women??"
"where are the audio dramas made by poc??"
they are here. they exist and they are plentiful. you just need to stop listening to the same show 3 shows made by white men on repeat. it is always so painfully clear to me the difference between people who are fans of Audio Drama as a medium and people who are fans of (insert big show here). When their chosen fixation fails to provide the representation that they claim to advocate for, they make up for it via diverse headcanons instead of listening to shows Made by marginalized communities.
expand your horizons. don't just reblog posts with lists of shows made by marginalized communities, actually listen to those shows. talk about them on social media. the Big Shows don't need more publicity, they will be popular forever. put your mouth and your support where you claim it is.
#i find this a little bit funny because i look at my podcast feed and im like#there are audiodramas made by white men????#maybe as codirectors but as sole creators??#i guess nightvale and tma are the big exceptions#my token white men audiodramas#podcast posting

Hebi Suzu Kyuuairon by Natsuo Nna
Komatsu is a member of the sparrow tribe, and does his best to help his family and tribe survive. One day when he is out foraging, everything goes wrong, but instead of getting trampled by wild boars, he is saved by a white snake. A snake that seems strangely upset when Komatsu thinks he will be eaten...
This was a really cute story with a nice fairytale/fable vibe to it! The two of them have a fun dynamic, and it funny and weird that they (to start with) have animal accurate genitals, which becomes a problem as they grow closer. I love the little ways their animal nature show through (like the sparrow being good at coming up with songs) and the artist really does know how to draw appealing animals! Both sparrow and snake are very cute and fun and well stylized!
I really loved the struggle of having to eat things that dont want to be eaten, but the alternative being starving. That was the main plot, and unfortunately I felt like that was resolved by... ignoring it? A little bit? Like its very cute that the sparrow says he's okay if he gets eaten, as long as its by the person he loves, but like... that seemed to be a real issue, he almost DID get eaten, and we never see the snake accept himself or his diet, I guess he will just continue to do intermittent fasting...? And the risk of his lover getting eaten feels worryingly high? I hope there will be a volume 2 exploring how the heck these crazy kids will solve this now that they are together....
The sex was pretty good, and i think its fun how the top/bottom deal was decided mostly out of practicality. It felt very silly with dick growing magic but i get it.

I didn't expect a scandal like this by Eight hisamatsu
A regular salaryman is desperate to find love and signs himself up to a dating app. To his surprise he matches with someone, and he starts to chat with cute "Yuki-san". But when they meet up, Yuki chan is a familiar face...
This was so cute and fun and horny! It was entirely wholesome, and it's great to see the straight guy getting bottomed for the first time being SUPER INTO IT and asking for more! The love interest IS handsome and kind, and the resolution to the big conflict (the celebrity love interest being outed by paparazzis) is solved in the most power-dream way! But that is entirely the right tone for this romp! My only note is that while the sex was super cute and sexy and fun, and I loved the expression, I kind of wanted to see the couple just... hang out a little bit more. So we get the sense they really should be a couple, and not just fwb.
But no matter, this was a nice read!

Remember when Elena immediately eats shit in that first dungeon in Perpetua? It always makes me laugh, I had to clip it (๑>◡<๑)
anyway back with my second 3d model of the perpetua player characters, this time with elena millefiori! i already love her and had a very clear vision for her (megadungeon hostess is so evocative). once again i learned a bunch of new stuff in blender to test my abilities.
i also put her model on sketchfab so you can rotate her around and around: skfb.ly/py6nM
will be back with more hopefully :^)

I think one of the funniest things about Johannah is that she isn’t even the most problematic blonde woman in the podcast, she isn’t even the second either. There’s a roster and she’s third at best

Takara no Biidoro by Suzumaru Minta
After being comforted by a university boy, our young protagonist decides to follow him and start the same university as he graduates high school. But finally meeting the man again, he is met by a cold attitude and a "ok, so what now". Indeed, what now?
This one has a really loveable protag, I love how he is charming everyone with his big sparkly eyes and absent mindedness. The love interest is kind of an ass, attitude wise, but does make up for it by showing off a heart of gold, and later doing a 180 and becoming a DEVOTED boyfriend. I personally think the mc gets a little wimpy at times, he is so much big eyes big tears, dont know how the big scary world works, and even in the rare moment he gets to show off some bark protecting his boyfriend, it ended up being a sort of misunderstanding and he comes to his sense really quickly. Let him say fuck!!
But again, I love Suzumaru's art, and little funny expressions going on, and how they portray people being so so sweetly in love! In this one especially I enjoy all the side characters continiously being stunned by the going ons of the mc's.
No sex in this one!

Nakayoku Shiyou ne Otonari-san by Ogi
A young policeman lives in the apartment to a pretty sketchy guy, who just don't like him at all. That's what he thinks, until he has to ask him for help to get an insect out of his apartment, and an unlikely friendhip is formed. And maybe more...?
This is a cute story that feels really short. I love the artstyle, and especially all the unique expressions and "chibi" versions of them, they are VERY funny. I do think the story feels a little bit like there's a chapter missing in there... I can't put exactly my finger on it, because the conflict is there, and while its a little strange that the mc's feelings are so vague when it's his POV, that might just be part of the buildup to show what the two of them are insecure about in the other. But somehow, it feels a little like they fell in love very fast, and then have a pretty serious heart to heart about issues that I had barely registred as serious issues yet. Maybe I just want my romance to have more little POV moments that makes it clear they are falling for the other? Anyway, it was an enjoyable comic in the end.
Surprisingly enough considering one of the guys is about to commit some light sleep-rape (!?!) in the first chapter, there is no sex at all in this (and he doesnt do it)! Some heavy petting in the extra chapter, but nothing in the main story!

Golden Sparkle by Suzumaru Minta
A sheltered boy who has been raised by his gentle mother and sister is afraid of girls, who are much meaner than the ones in his family. Cursed with good looks, his only way to escape is to attend an all-boys high school, where he makes a best friend. When things like masturbation comes up in conversation, our hero is clueless, but fortunately, his friend offers to teach him all he knows!
This is... so cute... And gentle! And funny! And sexy! I think the two main characters relationship is really sweet, and while at first glance they might fit into some tropes, they have surprising sides that gives them depth and makes them feel real. I love how the main character is clueless and really wants friends, but is also really frank and straightforward, often pretty blunt. And that is friend who is cool and chill, also have a side that will draw conlcusions and make decisions on his own, and keep his struggles to himself. Not so chill after all! The premise is silly, but it is 1. sexy and 2. ends up feeling thematically perfect for two characters to approach realisations about their sexuality from different points of view. I love the art style, it's simple, fluent and expressive, and has some very good little faces here and there! And 3. It is very funny. I love how the main character super bluntly texts updates on his sexual journey to his friend, who is going through internalized homophobia. It aint easy. It's basically a story that starts very silly, then dips into some a bit more real issues, but doesnt loose its lighthearted sweetness!
9/10 I'm just charmed by this every time
