While February is coming to an end, that does not mean Black history ends, too. Black history is forever and is rooted so deeply throughout the world. S.Magazine wanted to help honor and celebrate it with an extended edition to our February magazine release, expected to release at 6pm (est).

Good evening all.
This is Tera, the editor of S.Mag and I hope everyone is having a good day! I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has read, liked, reblogged, or written kind and positive words on our second issue. It’s been so heartwarming for the team to see our work being appreciated by the community.

I’m also posting this to clarify some issues brought up about a couple of contents within the second issue.
Firstly, we’ve removed a page from the Home for the Holidays section, as we found out that it contained the Star of David on a Christmas table setting. Thank you to those who pointed this out to us, as it was not our intention to offend anyone.
Secondly, we’ve received DMs regarding using the word “Oriental” in our Chinese New Year lookbook section. Thank you to all of you who have reached out to us about the term and what it meant. I think I do need to clarify this a little more and help you understand why the word was being used.
I am a Southeast Asian, myself (for those asking if we do have any Asians on the team) and from where I’m from we commonly associate that word geographically, as a term to identify the traditional beauty of Asians as well as the beauty of traditional style of art. That’s what I personally am used to and what people I’ve met throughout the years of my life have been associating that term with. When using the word “Oriental” as I designed the page, I had no intention on generalizing Asians, and did not realize the term was seen as offensive in other countries. When we planned the lookbook section, know that I wanted to portray the traditional Shanghai woman look, and not a general Chinese New Year lookbook.
Now, with the explanations that some have written us, and with research on my end with this term, I understand now that it is offensive to Asian populations in the western countries, or in fact any other Asians that knew this term was outdated. I do apologize for using that term and it has since been removed from the lookbook page. I hope you understand my side of the story as an Asian myself, and that I meant no ill intention. With that said, I hope I have clarified some of your concerns on this matter.
If you do have anything else you’d like me to clarify, my personal account DMs are open for anyone who’d like to chat more on this.
Thank you for your time!

Sul sul! S.Magazine is currently looking for talented builders to join our team. In order to make our spreads look lively and interesting, builders are a crucial role. We are looking for simmers who are well versed in build and buy, and can utilize all of the tools to their advantage. Some sets may require a minimalist look, while others may require more elaborate looks. Your computer needs to be able to handle a large amount of mods, and you must also be able to efficiently export your builds and any custom content used. S.Magazine is a bi-monthly magazine, so we need to ensure builds are done in a timely manner; consider the amount time it typically takes you to create builds, as well as your personal schedule before applying.
We would love to see you on the team, and appreciate your application! Dag dag!

that is so interesting, thank you so much for answering! I’m definitely thinking of applying :D just one more question — so the builds are based on the theme of the spread, is that correct? do we get a “prompt” before the deadline? thanks again!
You’re most welcome! ^^ Yes, you’re definitely right! The idea/theme of the builds and in fact the whole magazine are already pre-planned by the content planning team, therefore, I wouldn’t say there are any prompts. The build task will be opened for anyone in the team to take :)

hi! i hope you’re doing well! im super interested in becoming a builder but i just wanted to know — before making a commitment — how often do you need builds to be put out? and how much time do we get in terms of deadlines? i think this is a really cool idea and havent seen anything like this in the community before :D
Hi there, Thank you for being interested! :)
How often depends on the number of lookbooks / special build sets we want to include in the mag. In this next issue, we have over 10 that has been planned - but the builds are basically smaller lots that are decorated meant for photoshoots. The tasks definitely are being spread out amongst the team, so know that you won’t have to work on all of them yourself! In terms of deadlines, you will have 2 weeks or more to work on them as the builds will then have to be passed on to the sim creators/designers to work on the photoshoot for the sim models.  Hope that answers your question and we hope you consider joining us!
