A Picture of the Past 📷⭐️

A project I wanted to share for a while now, but I didn't because it's something kinda new and I'm getting nervous ahhh.

Anyway, I got the idea from a dream I had weeks ago and I liked it sm that I wanted to make it real. "A Picture of the Past" is a story about a young journalist and History student called Edwin (no he did not make the mimic) who travels back in time for his upcoming uni project to learn more about a historical figure called "The Star King." However, their meet-up doesn't go as planned.

You can see the cover for the story on the first slide, and the characters' refs on the second slide! It's supposed to be a very light-hearted and short romance story, just a little silly side project. I really want to turn it into a comic one day, I can't get it out of my head UGHHH but we'll see 😋

When I heard the audio I couldn't stop thinking about these two idiots, why I had to join this trend. Really happy with how it turned out, because I barely do frame by frame animations (and I'm still new to it) but I definitely wanna practice it more. Drawing ocs is fun but making them move?? I decided to redraw it because the old cover wasn't high quality enough to look good when printed, the resolution was too low, so I decided to redraw it with a better quality. The other covers are from 2022 and 2023.

BUT I'm really proud of myself for sticking to it for so long, with working on the universe/characters for like 9 years and drawing the actual comic for nearly 3 years... I'm just so thankful I get to share it with y'all and see the story and characters develop just like you! 🥺✨️

I don't say it a lot but y'all's support means so much to me and I just can't thank y'all enough 😭💕 thank you for accompanying me on this journey, like fr, THANK YOU SO MUCH 🫶

Year of the Snake 🐍

This art was originally planned to drop on 29th of January, first day of the year of the snake but things happened (my graphic tablet's pen broke and problems with ordering a new one, after that two surgeries yara yara) I'm still heart-broken that i couldn't come back to it much earlier T^T it just comes to the fact that i never can be on time with... pretty much anything? Oh well (hope i get better at it)

Regarding the art itself - it's my first art of Xue since I got them (which was a while ago) I think that they fit the theme very well! Couldn't miss the occasion :3 more so because this year i try to draw at least one art of every single one of my OCs and i'll say... It goes quite well so far!

I decided to go with more fitting to the character winter background despite the more occasion accurate spring (to my defence i associate January with winter still xP) Oh! and for those wondering what those words mean :

迎春 - Greeting the new year (spring) 令和七年 - Reiwa 7th (2025)

For those more familiar with Japanese, let me know if it's correct. Never can be too sure ^^

I realized I haven't drawn Aiden in a looooong time, so I wanted to dedicate a fully rendered drawing to him! My goal was to highlight his scars, since they are the remains of his past, rubbing it into his face. I barely mention it but he's actually one of my fav characters, I love him so so much 🥺✨️

I'm really happy with the outcome too, yk when you draw and feel like you're finally able to draw again/your hand does what you want? That's how I felt with this drawing! He was a blast to draw again 💕💕
