I've been struggling a lot with wanting to tell people I am transgender, but also feeling like I'm not allowed because I'm ftx.

As an agender person, I full heartedly believe that I'm just a person not a gender, but my anxiety mixed with societal norms has me worried that I'm not trans even though it feels right.

Please help me calm my anxieties for a moment, I can finally call myself trans, right?

Okay, my comrade, I'm gonna make this supah loud for you so we can blot out anybody wrongly telling you otherwise:

If you identify as a gender that does not match your (assigned) sex, you are entitled to the label "transgender" 💛

It literally doesn't matter if the gender is binary or something else entirely. This isn't to insult you, but sometimes I notice internalized transphobia especially in the nonbinary community which isn't always addressed. In one way, I believe it can manifest as saying, "I am not allowed to call myself trans because I am not a binary person" even when it isn't accurate (this is also about nonbinary people who would otherwise call themselves trans if not for nonbinary transphobia and doesn't apply to nonbinary people who don't want to call themselves trans).

The trans community isn't run by binary people. Hell, I'm a nonbinary trans male. There's room enough for us all, my friend
