Watching the PM's and FM's press conference and they mentioned how the Labor govt is oh so transparent before he dodges like 6 questions in a row (only broken bc he was lobbed a dirt easy one: has he talked to trump)
Oh nvm it's over before anything was said.
Man, I do love how both the govt and these journos are so happy to talk about "sleeper cells". What a racist bunch of dipshits

bill is so funny to me. like clara knew what genre she was in but bill? homegirl is clearly living in an indie coming-of-age queer college movie and the doctor keeps trying to get her to help him defeat horrors. she's got an essay to write. girls to kiss. she doesn't have time for this shit man.

Was going to write something for a competition but did that thing where I put it off too long. Now there's like 10 hours left, I need to sleep, and all of a sudden I hate my writing
Well, guess it's not happening this year
#I'll finish the story one day#it's cute and i like it#i just got so bogged up in the cold open / set up / unnecessary world building that. ugh#writing#writeblr

can we all agree that the jukebox in the Tardis is basically just a sympton of the overall desire for the current run of Doctor Who to look like it's doing things that it isn't. Like this Doctor is the fun music loving doctor that's why he has a jukebox he never uses. this tardis is accessible that's why it has a ramp in the door that never gets used.

Got to love media's obsession with redeeming abusers and absolving them of their guilt. It's usually with neglectful, or otherwise abusive, parents who our protagonist has to overlook the harm done to them for "the greater good" or to "be the bigger person" (I'm still not over Ryan forgiving his dad in Resolution)
But you raise a really interesting point that Ruby isn't just forgiving Conrad for the things she did to him, but also what he did to the whole world. It's saying that being the bigger person isn't just downplaying yourself, but also your loved ones too. The hell kind of world do we want to be in where everybody has that mentality?
Like, do i belive in second chances? Yes, for the most part.
But do I also believe Conrad should have died in prison like the Doctor said he would? Also yes.
It's not that i don't think he could be redeemed, it's think everyone is capable of change. But Conrad didn't do anything to earn that second chance. He didn't come around, he didnt change sides and help fight the bad guys. He didn't realize he was wrong and ask for forgiveness. He got Ruby thanking him for making his wish world "kind" ( a big fuck you to Shirley who was homeless and Rose who was just gone from reality), and then she wished he was "happy", which feels out of character for her seeing as how a minute earlier she wanted to punch him, and I don't remember any prior indication in her character that mentioned she was especially compassionate.
Just a weird choice in an episode full of weird choices.

This is my thoughts with Ncuti too. Such an incredible actor right there and I fell in love with him immediately. The fastest I've taken to any Doctor. I remember thinking after Church on Ruby Road that this guy could become my favourite
Even when the episode's weren't working in s1, he was giving it his all, delivering lines in unexpected, incredible ways. To this day, I maintain that Space Babies is a better episode then people give it credit for simply because he's selling it
And then s2 just didn't give him anything new to work with. The same beats, the same exploration of ideas. Leaning more into a darker, more manipulative persona absolutely, but never really acknowledging it. And now it's over and we'll never see how another batch of episodes might have pushed him further
Verada Sethu was the first companion who I'd seen in something before being announced for Who*. Her role in Andor s1 was small, but it had such a profound impact on me and her talent was so obvious that I was so incredibly excited. Then The Robot Revolution came and I knew we had a contender for "best companion" material. Then...
I'm so utterly disappointed and devastated that Belinda is just... so under baked. Verada deserved so much more

#ncuti gatwa#the second half of this series really felt like it was spinning its wheels for me. for multuple reasons#but mostly because Gatwa wasnt given anything to sink his teeth into
