#sugarscrubs seem harmless because they are "natural" and don't contain confusing chemicals like AHAs, BHAs or Retinoids but the sharp sugars crystals can irritate the skin and they really need to be used with more caution than their chemical cousins. The general rules with sugar scrubs is to not use them on the face (more gentle physical facial exfoliants include ground walnut husks and regular bathroom towels but avoid synthetic micro beads as they an environmental pollutant) and use them gently on the body, just because its called a sugar scrub, doesn't mean that exfolitaing is scrubing your skin off. To us it smells like antiseptic (when I was a kid tea tree mixed with sorbolene was the go to home remedy for taking the itch out of mosquito bites) with a sweet fresh lime finish. Spending this rainy afternoon making #perfume, #massagebars and #lipbalm. For our non-vegan formulation we use #unrefined #beeswax that we get from a beekeeper as a byproduct of the honey refining process. As it is unrefined it adds a #honey smell (and possibly flavor) to our balms.

This pure #oliveoil #soap has been cured for 3 months. Pure olive oil soap becomes brittle and hard as it cures so it doesn't cut into nice neat bars, but big beautiful rustic chunks. Our pure olive oil soap is made from water, sodium hydroxide lye and olive oil. #soapflakes have a number of uses for personal and household cleaning, our soap flakes are made with olive oil, sodium hydroxide lye and water nothing else.
