I've been thinking about this for a while and I ofter see it happen in different groups. When you are presenting a new idea for a group of people and everyone agrees, what does it mean then? Probably that it's something that everyone is comfortable listening to and it isn't pushing anyone out of their comfort-zone? At least a few people should feel that it's not possible to do, then it's a sign of a big and brave idea. Many organisations say that they want creative ideas, but when it comes to reality many managers and leaders only want a 'certain kind' of idea that fits their pictures of the history and future. What do you reckon? How should you feel when you are exposed for a new idea? #MondayMorning #LeadershipReflection #leadership #creativity #ideas #future #history #myworld #myway

Procrastination and motivation are two sides of the same coin. Follow my new Instagram blog here ➡️ https://instagram.com/sofiesandell A friend says he can't get anything done if he's not procrastinating like crazy until the last minute. Others find motivation from nothing and are always prepared when the right moment occur. I've been in the gym today for over an hour and I often think about Usain Bolt when motivating myself to exercise. I read that he doesn't enjoy his training and can be pretty lazy. But if you want to become the fastest man in the world you have to just do it. It helps me to see a lazy Usain Bolt working out in front of me and then off I go. I want to stay strong 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 What's your best anti couch-potatoes metaphor?

As a speaker I get like ten requests per week to speak for free and it makes me exhausted. It seems to be a trend to expect people to collect knowledge and then just share it for free. And so many speakers are not taking themselves serious enough to ask for payment. Sometimes my friends who work in the corporate world ask me to speak for free. They would never dream about doing that, even just for 30 min. I speak for free for organisations such as JCI that I have an emotional connection with, for small money for charities and for corporates there is a normal speaker fee involved. In case you wonder there is hours and hours of preparation involved in every speaking gig, you don't just go there without preparation. I also do lots of research to stay on top of thing in the digital world. If you go to an event without being prepared it's not what I consider a professional speaker. Thoughts? #publicspeaking #exposureisnotpayment #wouldyouworkforfree?? #plummersdontworkforfree

I passed a small shop yesterday that sold cards and small mini books about just everything. I loved all of the books and had to take a picture of these quotes. To try to be someone you are not is definitely a personality killer making you feel grey. #bekind #beyourself #personalbranding #leadership #socialmedia #DigitalLeadership

The Web is a world on its own – big, wide and scary. The Web is not fair, equal and there are many injustices taking place online all the time, plus that the web is putting children and vulnerable people at risk. Here are some of my thoughts how to make the web a better place: 🔶 Access to the internet should be affordable and accessible for everyone. In 2013 40% of the worlds populations had access to the Web. It should be a human right to have access to information online. Online bullying should be banned, and there should be ways to punish people doing it. 🔶 Freedom of expression must be better understood by more people. It’s never right to threat to murder, rape or maltreat someone, in the real world or online. 🔶 There should be no harassment against girls and women sharing their opinions online. Right now there are millions of women who are choosing not to express their opinions just because they are afraid of being trolled. 🔶 Privacy matters for everyone. No government should be able to spy on what all of us do online. The mass surveillance that going in at the moment is not right. 🔶 Medical information on the Web should be verified by an expert in the topic. Our medical record should be safe and not be shared without our prior consent. 🔶 Better customer support from the major social media networks such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google. It’s shocking that they still hide behind a wall when you report issues such as scam, threats and online trolling. They should have proper customer service centres where you can report issues and get advice by talking to a person and a personal email conversation. 🔶 Websites with poor userability should be rebuilt. Great information layout that’s easy for humans to understands should be compulsory for new websites. 🔶 When you search for something the search engines should understand what you actually mean, and not show up too many spammy results. 🔶 The porn industry should not be online in the extent it’s now. Did you know many boys start to watch porn at the early age of seven. Awful, this must stop now. 🔶 There should be no way to hide child pornography online.

The ceiling from the room I had a meeting in earlier today. We were not allowed to use social media while in the room. #strict #bepresence Interesting discussions about the future of digital and how digital mature businesses in the UK really are. It turned out that 25% of SMEs are not digitally aware and that 58% of charities don't think a website will help their engagement. Businesses are developing A and B teams. Things change fast. #DigitalLeadership #socialmedia #digital #leadership (at Institute of Directors)
