The analysis here is amazing, and I think saving Enid is how Wednesday to going to finally be able to start healing. Being friends with Enid has started to form cracks in her walls, but saving her like how she couldn’t do for Nero would break them down. Wednesday is stronger now, she won’t be pinned against the wall and be forced to watch someone she loves die this time. She’s not a small child with no power anymore.

I think one of my favorite things about Wednesday character is how she is always learning from the past. I mean it’s almost like she’s a sear or something. Everything is she now is because of something she has been through.

Saving Enid will allow for her to ‘evolve’ once again. Wednesday has attachments issues not because she can’t get attached but because she can’t trust the world to not snatch that attachment away again. By saving Enid, by her own doing, Wednesday is proving to herself that attachment isn’t a bad thing.

Enid looks angry, Wednesday looks scared. Enid also looks like she could devour Wednesday. Truthfully, might be how their first kiss goes down....

It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for their first kiss to be full of angst and high stakes emotions. They light each other's fires in every way. 🔥

In other news, I think it's very interesting they have this scene in Wednesday's vision. Because it's not "Enid" it's "vision Enid" and I think "vision Enid" is more of a reflection of Wednesday's angst and guilt. If I were an English student and I wanted to dissect the storytelling, I would suggest there is a parallel with this and the Nero story.

Wednesday wasn't able to save Nero and Nero was one being she loved beyond all else. It destroyed her watching him be murdered. The same is happening here in S2, but Wednesday is determined to change the outcome. She will not let someone she loves die. I guess we shall see if Enid's death occurs, just like Nero's, as Wednesday stands helplessly by. Or, if she faces the fear and guilt and angst manifested in "vision Enid" and saves her wife from her fate. Or. As she says she will die trying. (so sorry, you seem to have triggered the analysis nerd in me 😳

The last lines could be something like…

“There were many things I learned during my second year at Nevermore. 1. The school can surprisingly hire suitable teachers. (referring to the new music teacher) 2. Pugsley is not nearly as pitiful has he was when I left him. and 3. I am in love with Enid Sinclair, how mortifying.”

Ok, ok, ok, ok, hear me out.

Season Two theory.

*Discussing possible leaks*

So one of the leaks talked about how Enid and Esther’s relationship is actually low-key kinda fixed in season two. So here are my thoughts.

Whit Enid finally wolfing out Esther is overwhelming pleased with her daughter, and she spends all of break spoiling Enid. This love bombing continues throughout the first half of season two.

It’s made pretty clear in season one that one of the things Enid wants more than anything is the acceptance of her pack/family, and she finally has that and doesn’t want to loose it, so she gets into a new relationship with someone who she thinks fits the standards of her pack/mother better.

My theory is that Enid kinda becomes obsessed with this new acceptance from her pack. After feeling so alone for so long she finally feels like she is accepted ignoring the obvious conditions on the acceptance. She doesn’t necessarily neglect her other friendships but she doesn’t prioritize them the way she used to.

But, after her breakup with her second boyfriend due to the potential abuse as alluded to by the leaker, Enid realizes what she has been doing and starts focusing on her other friendships the way she used to, especially Wednesday, with the blinders forced on her by her pack gone, Enid is finally able to see how Wednesday has been acting odd.

Enid notices how Wednesday looks over her shoulder more, appears to have memorized Enid’s schedule and is also there to walk with her between locations. Enid is now able to see Wednesdays protective habits and without all the extra time being spent with the pack Enid can help Wednesday solve this mystery.

I really like this train of thought because one of my biggest issues with the leaks is how out of character is seemed for Enid to be especially considering how much character growth she got in the first season. But I think this explains all that. I mean at the end of the day Enid is a 16/17 year old girl who only wants to be accepted by her family. So of course when she finally gets that she will jump into it. 

This also opens up season 3 to explore complex pack dynamics more and build more of Enid’s relationship with Wednesday. Will she choose Wednesday, the pack, or will she be able to prove the pack system flawed?

Anyways this probably isn’t what’s gonna happen but i liked the thought enough to share.

Wenclairtober 2024, Day 6 - Worst Fear

The gang is gathered in a quad carpeted with shreds of a distinctively red fabric. On the ground is Wednesday, curled into a tight ball, with Enid clutching her protectively while glaring up the others.

Enid: This isn’t funny.

Bianca: It kinda is. Nevermore’s infamous tiny terror, sower of trauma, needing us to rescue her from a fear demon? Irony much?

Ajax: Dude, I’m pretty sure I saw her crying.

Enid: Shut up.

Yoko: *eyes Enid* Guys, let’s change the subject.

Kent: Yeah, that thing wasn’t even scary! Just a ginormous red duffel bag. Like, what the shit?

Bianca: Why that was Addams’ worst fear is beyond me. Fucking weird.

Enid: Shut. Up.

Yoko: Guys!

Ajax: And the stuff it was screaming on repeat! What was it again?

Kent: I think it was “You want to be alone, Wednesday? Then be alone.”

Wednesday: *curls tighter*

Bianca: Huh. The demon’s voice. Didn’t it sound kinda like—

Enid: *snaps* SHUT THE FUCK UP!

The Nightshades turn to stare in absolute shock. Enid’s face is twisted in a feral snarl, irises burning an irradiated blue and carnivore’s teeth on full display. Only Yoko notices the hints of something beneath the rage.

Guilt.

Yoko: *claps sharply* Okay! Nightshades, OUT. Let’s give them some space.

Still stunned, the others put up no argument as Yoko hurriedly leads them out of the Quad. Enid manages an appreciative nod to her best friend, who returns it with a sympathetic look.

Enid: Shh-shh-shh. We’re alone now, Willa. You’re safe. You’re okay.

Wednesday: *barely whispers* Please don’t go.

Enid: I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here.

Wednesday: You are. You’re going to leave me again. And it will be my fault.

Enid: Oh baby, no. That’s not true.

Wednesday: I tried to keep you safe. Back in that mansion. Made sure you got in first. Kept you behind me. But I— *choked sob*

Wednesday: I only hurt you. Like I hurt everyone. And I’m so sorry.

Enid: Willa, you— no, we didn’t know. You did hurt me back then, but I didn’t have to abandon you like that. If I knew how badly it hurt you—

Wednesday: I deserved it. And I’ll deserve the next time.

Enid: There won’t be a next time.

Wednesday: There will. I haven’t seen it, but I know. I will hurt you again, and again, and again. And you’ll leave, until you finally don’t come back, and I— *sobs*

Wednesday: *brokenly* I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m—

Enid: Wednesday, listen to me. I promise you, no matter what happens, I won’t shut you out. We’ll work on it, together. I love you.

Wednesday: —sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m—

Enid tightens her hold on the seer as she disassociates into her non-communicative chant. The two remain there for hours, the werewolf gently comforting her mate with soothing words and firm touch. She doesn’t know how long Wednesday will need, but she is committed. She won’t abandon her again.

Not now.

Not ever.

I think we are all missing the fact that its cannon now that Enid is able to talk Wednesday into making TicToks with her.

Enid Sinclair doesn’t think she deserves love. She has been belittled by her mother, ignored by her brothers and neglected by her father. People who are supposed to love her have shown her time and time again that they don’t.

So it’s no surprise that she could end up in an abusive relationship. Enid is so desperate for someone to show her love that she doesn’t care how she gets it.

Now imagine this, Enid, the one who thinks she is unlovable, learns what true love feels like from someone who thought they could never love someone.

Wednesday is THE perfect person for Enid, whether it be romantic (please please please) or not. Wednesday cares, and Enid somewhat knows that. I hope in season two as they explore the relationship between Wednesday and Enid, we get to see Wednesday show Enid more care knowing that Enid needs to know that someone is on her side.

At some point Yoko tries telling Wednesday about it to embarrass Enid, only to be greeted with a face of Confusion.

Late Enid had to explain what a horse girl was, and once Wednesday grasped the concept she agreed with Yoko about it being embarrassing.
