Just saw a post asking how tall people are and now I want to make it a poll. Apologies to people in the fringe height categories, you do not get specifics.
I had to consult a chart for this
*edit - the chart did not help, I'm shit at maths (see my reblog), if your height is not included please feel free to vote based on vibes alone into whichever category closest to your height feels right
#wanted to comment something along the lines of why are you people so tiny and then remembered i'm dutch#question answered#but yeah i can name 4 people from the top of my head who are over 2#and uh. maybe one who'd be in the first category?

A chemist, a physicist, and a biologist go to the beach. The physicist is intrigued by the waves, walks into the ocean to examine them and drowns.
The biologist is intrigued by the various forms of life, walks into the ocean to study them, and drowns.
The chemist is sitting on the beach with a lab notebook and writes “Biologists and physicists are soluble in water.”

Martin (2015) argues that even if adopting vegan practice makes no causal difference to decreasing animal harm, not doing so makes the consumer complicit in harming animals. Central to Martin’s view are the notions of role-taking and group function. Individual consumers of animal products are complicit in the suffering and killing of animals not because they contribute directly (or even indirectly) to such harm, but because they willingly choose a role and participate as a member of a consumer group that functions to signal demand... In order not to be complicit, one must—at minimum—abstain from the consumption of animal products, regardless of whether such abstention is causally inefficacious.
"Veganism and Capitalism", Robert C. Jones and John Sanbonmatsu

btw if you’re fat and your partner doesn’t love you wholeheartedly, if they’re attracted to you “despite” your body, if they avoid touching you, if they look away from certain parts of you, you’re allowed to break up with that person. look at me. you can do better. you are not unloveable and you don’t have to settle i fucking promise.

#big snake plushie and tiny whale plushie are equally close#was using both as pillows just now so they would not be doing great#but at least they both breathe air so they would survive long enough for me to call animal rescue#unless the snake decides to attack me but if it incarnates with a full belly we should be good i hope

anyway you should always remember that all those foreigners you see dying on the news are just as real people as you are who have just as much interiority as you do. there is nothing about you that makes you more important and it is by pure chance that you are not in their position. in fact, this holds for all of history. every person, no matter the horror of the fate that befell them, had just as much interiority as you do. i feel like some people haven't fully internalized this.
