UNDERREVOLT (an undertale au)

Soooo.... I decided to make an Undertale AU, out of pure boredom! It's still being reworked and I'm still iffy about the name (the double 'r' annoys me) so if y'all have any name suggestions please tell me! I'm currently working on art for this (mainly character designs and maybe i'll do concept art for the areas if this gets a good response?) and I hope you enjoy my AU!!

UNDERREVOLT

During the events of Undertale Revolution, GASTER had already disappeared. Mettaton’s body has already been created and Alphys appointed as the new Royal Scientist. Unlike the classic Undertale, Mettaton’s default body is his NEO form, which has been altered to have somewhat better defenses. The Amalgamates and Flowey have both been created. Flowey is still relatively new to the world and mainly sticks to avoiding monsters. Sans and Papyrus are still quite young. Frisk is the 4th human to fall, 3 human souls already being collected (Kindness, Bravery, Integrity, in that order). The humans that fell prior to Frisk are either put in for DETERMINATION experiments (their SOULS are stored for the Barrier but their DETERMINATION and bodies are used for experimentation) or are in hiding, being kept safe by Rebels.

When Toriel retreated to the RUINS after the death of the prince and the declaration of war on humans, many monsters found themselves agreeing with the queen and felt that if their queen did not want harm to come to any humans who fell into the Underground, they should too.

More passive monsters such as Froggits, Whimsuns, and some Moldsmals followed Toriel into the RUINS as a stand against the King. However, a lot of monsters who agreed with Toriel felt the need to act. Many small revolts and protests appeared across the Underground, soon becoming the focus of the Royal Guard.

Revolts turned into a full-on rebellion, and the Underground was greatly divided. Royalists, Rebels, and Neutrals. In each category, there are Mains and Rogues (does not apply to Neutrals). Mains are usually known to be in that category and often work in large groups of people in that same category. Rogues often work undercover in small groups or alone, and it may not be known they are in that category.

Royalists (note: all Hotland, CORE and True Lab enemies are Royalist with the exception of Muffet)

Mains – ‘there is a spy among them.’

Asgore – King of the Underground. Currently trying his best to keep his kingdom from falling into pieces. Currently failing. Asgore doesn’t want to turn to violence when it comes to the Revolution, though his advisors, Alphys and Undyne, believe otherwise. Has no remorse when it comes to humans and gives the Royalists the instruction to eradicate any humans seen in the Underground.

Undyne – Captain of the Royal Guard. Undyne and Alphys are advisors to Asgore. She is working hard to keep revolts at bay, but the Royal Guard is not large enough at times. Her hair is cut short and her armor was developed to be impermeable by Alphys. As part of the DETERMINATION experiments, she takes injections of DETERMINATION in the hopes of making her stronger, though due to the lack of physical matter in monsters, Undyne is relatively fragile without her armor. She also lost her left hand to the DETERMINATION experiments. In charge of Waterfall.

Alphys – Royal Scientist. Alphys and Undyne are advisors to Asgore. Trying to harness determination and plans to somehow utilize it in the revolution. Creator of Mettaton’s body and the Amalgamates. Not as shaken by the Amalgamates as her classic self is and is considering using them as weapons. In charge of Hotland.

Mettaton – Used for propaganda. Usually stays in Hotland, often found in the Lab. Frequently visits Waterfall for reasons he will not disclose. Keeps Hotland under control and on the Royalists’ side with his propaganda TV show, though often hints that his viewers would be better off staying neutral. Lets the MTT Hotel serve all Royalists, Rebels or Neutrals, if they pay the price. Steps in for Undyne or Alphys to oversee their areas if need be.

K-9 Unit – Royal Guard in Snowdin. In charge of Snowdin.

RG-01 & RG-02 – Royal Guard in Hotland.

Final Froggit – Works to keep Hotland and the CORE under Royalist control.

Whimsalot – Works to keep Hotland and the CORE under Royalist control.

Astigmatism – Works to keep Hotland and the CORE under Royalist control.

Knight Knight – Works to keep Hotland and the CORE under Royalist control.

Madjick – Works to keep Hotland and the CORE under Royalist control.

Rogues

Monster Kid – Idolizes Undyne, practically brainwashed by the mentality that all humans are scum and should be eradicated. Mainly looks around Waterfall for Rebels and general trouble and reports to Undyne. Many people think Monster Kid is neutral, so he makes a good spy.

Burgerpants – Works for Mettaton. Mettaton tells him to serve all Royalists, Rebels, and Neutral if they pay the price. Isn’t very active in the revolution.

Jerry – Works as an undercover spy in Snowdin, watching and reporting every suspicious move. Jerry.

Tsunderplane – Works as a messenger for the Royalists, flying over Snowdin, Waterfall, and Hotland to deliver messages to allies.

Pyrope - Isn’t very active in the revolution, but reports suspicious behavior or any rebels found in Hotland to Alphys.

Rebels (note: all RUINS (though inactive in the revolution) and Waterfall enemies are Rebels except for Temmie and Undyne)

Mains

Shyren – Can’t help but stand against people who hurt her family. She mainly works with Aaron, Woshua, and Moldbygg but Shyren also helps a certain group of ghosts.

Aaron – Aaron works with Shyren, Woshua, and Moldbygg. He’s a lot more cunning than he lets on and good when it comes to distractions. ;)

Moldbygg – It shares views with Moldsmal and works with Shyren, Aaron and Woshua. Carries information that can be used against the Royalists and is willing to give it to others they trust.

Woshua – Basically the janitor of the Underground. Often works with Moldbygg, Aaron, Shyren and occasionally, the Bird That Carries You Over A Disproportionately Small Gap.

Snowdrake – After what the Royal Scientist did to his mother, Snowdrake will stop at nothing to make sure the Royalists are taken down. He doesn’t quite understand what’s going on, but he’s rebelling anyway.

Chilldrake – An opportunity to help his friend out and be part of one of the greatest rebellions in all of monster history? Hell yeah! Chilldrake will stop at nothing to stand by Snowdrake. It’s not quite sure what’s going on, but it’s rebelling anyway.

Ice Cap – Works alongside Chilldrake and Snowdrake, in the hopes that a human would appreciate his hat. He is often used for distractions to keep Royalists out of their way.

Rogues

Napstablook – They work undercover with the ghosts of Mad Dummy and Ruins Dummy. Their group is arguably one of the most active out of the rebels, but they work hard to hide their acts from the Royalists. Their source of information is apparently the most reliable there is, and the riskiest.

Ghost of Mad Dummy – Mad Dummy works undercover with Napstablook and the ghost of Ruins Dummy. They keep watch on Undyne and cause her far more trouble than needed in their role as a training dummy outside her home. It still tends to get angry over letting their cousin just—ah, that’s probably not a good idea, to talk about such sensitive information in a place like this.

Ghost of Ruins Dummy – Ruins Dummy works undercover with Napstablook and the ghost of Mad Dummy. They spend most of their time in the RUINS, monitoring the area. They report about the state of Queen Toriel several times a week and this information is used to send out good news and motivation to the rebels.

Sans – He used to work in the Royal Laboratory with Gaster and Alphys. After the former Royal Scientist disappeared, he retreated into Snowdin with his younger brother Papyrus. When the revolution began, he took Papyrus into hiding and now is willing to give information to any fellow rebels – if you’ve got the G. He only sides with the rebels because he made a promise.

Papyrus – Papyrus sides with the rebels because of his older brother, Sans. Both are currently in hiding in the deep forests of Snowdin. He actually admires the Royal Guard (Undyne especially) and he would like to fight alongside them, but his brother would not let him. Papyrus doesn’t really know what is happening with the rebellion.

Bird That Carries You Over A Disproportionately Small Gap – Bird works as a messenger for the rebels, those located in Waterfall especially.

Neutrals

Muffet – Despite the revolution suggesting the worst of situations, she continues selling her famously over-priced spider confectionaries to raise money for her cause. Muffet now also offers to be a hitman for a day for you – if the price is right.

Temmie – The strange cat-dog creature is still asking people to pay for her ‘colleg’ fees, and still loves her dog residue. Upon paying for ‘colleg’, however, she lets down the dumb façade and now offers highly priced, extremely valuable information on both Royalists and Rebels and, of course, the ‘Tem Armor’, just for you.

Gerson – Gerson will sell you items as normal, but the Torn Notebook and Cloudy Glasses are not available. Instead, he sells Worn Hammer (11AT) as a weapon from his hero days. The tortoise is conflicted about the revolution, so he is undecided about what side he should take. He thinks the best option just may be to stay neutral about it.

Bratty & Catty – The two vendors both slightly favor the Royalists, but Bratty and Catty both agree that it probably wouldn’t be, like, a good idea to get involved in something so controversial. After all, they wouldn’t like to know where all the monsters who let something slip disappeared to. Instead of selling the Empty Gun and Cowboy Hat, they sell the Rusty Necklace (9DF) and Astronaut Food.

Snowdin Shopkeeper – Remains neutral as she doesn’t want the revolution to taint her business. She does not sell the Manly Bandana or Tough Glove, instead selling the Torn Scarf (7DF) and Wooden Spear (small, only a little larger than Toy Knife, 5AT)

Nice Cream Guy – Staying positive, he continues to sell his Nice Creams as usual throughout the Underground, as if there isn’t a revolution occurring.

River Person – They know a lot more than they let on, but even though they spill such important information to those riding on their boat between the ‘tra la la’s, they speak so cryptically that very few can understand what they are trying to say. They let all ride the boat, as usual.

Gyftrot – They just want some peace and quiet, and don’t want to be involved in this revolution business.

Vulkin – Vulkin isn’t awfully bothered. It’s really just willing to help those who need it and isn’t really informed about current events like the revolution.

Flowey – Though slightly favoring the r, Flowey prefers to sit back and watch the conflict unravel, finding it quite entertaining. The flower rarely interacts with other monsters unless he feels the need to for whatever reason.

Frisk – The silent human believes in pacifism and wants to regain peace between the Royalists and Rebels.

This AU is also why I haven’t been posting a lot (not that I do anyway lmao) and why requests haven’t been done (theres actually only one request ;-; pls send them in if u want one!! any fandoms accepted but no nsfw)
