Some Solstoria side characters:

I'm going to talk about original characters. This will be pretty long because there's three of them. I'm so sorry. Each character's name got updated, but they still technically have their original names!

Miksa (Maxi) Nielle (Danielle) Van (Evan)

I've had these characters since 2009! Let's talk.

These are characters from my first iteration of Solstoria and I had... no clue how to use them in Solstoria. But I think I figured it out. The best way I can describe Solstoria's world: Humans are not natural to the world and are starting to change because of the natural "magic" of the world.

Some countries have closed themselves off the world to stay "pure" but most of the population lives with it, but stay away from the HIGH magic areas. (These are called Wayward Lands) Basically, humans are trying to coexist in a semi-harsh world. There's guidelines and rules to keep the populace safe

There is a town called "The Wayward Village" on the outskirts of the Wayward Lands that takes in severe cases of magic infused folks, or those born outside of societal norms. A witch rules this town.

Miksa and Nielle are natural creatures of the world with human influence.

Miksa is from a tribe of people who embraced the world as it is. The severe levels of magic, over the centuries, made them more magic than human, but they still retain souls. Nielle is a snow maiden who wandered after the Eternal Winter. She has "gained" a soul. She is a fairy tale come to life.

Van is a simple human sailor who took them under his wing. Miksa found Nielle and didn't want to leave her alone, so he left his tribe to find clues. Van is half-belan/Helenian. (Belan = From the Kingdom of Belacuna) (Helenian = From St. Helena.)

I didn't really know what to do with these characters.. but I think they're going to be the faction that represents the future of the world. Eventually, the concept of "Humans" we know will someday cease to exist.

People fear losing their humanity, that their soul will be stolen from them, that they'll be denied an afterlife- but how people handle this is based on their beliefs and backgrounds. (It is an awful time in some countries) And yet Nielle is gaining her own humanity by being w/ others so who knows.

Happy Webcomic Day!!

Solstoria is a webcomic about siblings navigating life in a pretty magical, odd world and maybe one of them gets turned into a crow so his body can be used as a vessel for a magical being. The story follows Samantha as she becomes a knight in training in the semi-modern kingdom of St. Helena and her struggles to find her own way, also maybe save her idiot brother.

It's slow going but it's my passion project! I hope you all enjoy. :)

Hi everyone!!

Sorry Solstoria's been quiet lately. Along with the server move and some issues with Hiveworks, it's just been a little difficult focusing. I'm going to start working on pages again this week (my previous page was half done...) and I just want to make sure when I work on Solstoria it's to the best of my abilities, even if I'm slow as a mule.
