"scream at me if you must. curse my name. i will not stand between you and what you need to express."

Pasithea is a goddess who is rarely seen without a smile.

She is friendly, playful, and very even-tempered despite being of an age where most - divine or otherwise - experience tumultuous emotions as they transition from child to adult. Her domain being what it is means she naturally avoids the more negative emotions, and rarely feels them herself. But that is not the case in that moment, nor has it been since she found out the cause of her father's tormented wanderings. Hearing it confirmed as truth is simply the final crack needed to break the dam of chaotic emotion inside her.

A prickling heat bubbles in her chest and radiates up into her head, drawing a flush to her cheeks as she looks at Hera. Pressure builds against her temples, and her heart begins to race despite feeling like it's being squeezed by invisible hands intent on stopping the organ from working. Gone is any trace of her usual calm - her smile absent, her stance tense, and her aura completely vanished. Her nails dig against her palms, the ink-like eyes there squeezed shut tighter than they have ever been. In this moment, none would ever guess she is the goddess of relaxation. But she does not do anything that Hera suggests. She looks hard at Hera - at her mother - and opens her mouth.

"Why?"

A single word, spoken in a voice that trembles.

A single word, that asks multiple questions at once; Why did you do it? Why keep it secret? Why are you so calm?

Aglaea; The desire for him was pretty instant, but love... I imagine it was a little while after they officially started courting. Heph was probably explaining something to her she'd asked about, and she just... knew. The way he always listened to her, and was happy to answer her questions and explain things? Or the thoughtful gifts he would make for her with his own hands? Yeah, that got her. She knew then she was hopelessly in love with him.

Minthe; She fell hard and fast for Hades, it really didn't take much, which is partly because she was young, and also because she was a loner. Gloomy, awkward, anti-social - all things others would say about her, and so she wasn't really someone who got much attention. Hades showing interest in her was a shock, and as she got to know him she just... fell. But the moment she really knew it would've been the first time they were intimate. Sex is a big deal for her, and the desire was new. So the first time they had sex, she gave more than just her body - Hades had her everything, if he wanted it, and she knew she was hopelessly gone for him. It's why she took it so hard when his feelings changed and Persphone came into the picture.

Medusa; It's complicated. Medusa loved Athena prior to the curse, but it was less the romantic kind, and far more devotional. That then got kinda buried after the curse because of shame and self-loathing. I think it took a while before she let herself entertain anything more than that after she and Athena reconnected. But when you've loved somebody on a devotional level, it's so very easy to let it slip into something more when that person is in proximity to you. It's even easier if that person is also pretty much the only person you see. Athena became a bright spot in the darkness, and she clung to that. I think she still held her feelings inside though, even when things got more intimate between them. Deep down she knew, but part of her felt she didn't deserve to love Athena like that. I'm thinking that she actually didn't allow herself to truly feel everything until after her revival. Death kinda puts things into perspective, and well... Let's just say Athena was on her mind when death came for her.

Amphitrite; Definitely more of a slow burn here, considering she resented him at first and was still a bit miffed about the whole situation. They probably fought a lot in the beginning, especially with Poseidon's moods, and there were times she probably gave him the cold shoulder for weeks after. But since his goal wasn't to own her, and that became apparent to her as time went on, she softened towards him. He'd tease a smile or a laugh from her, he'd listen to her when it counted, he'd treat her as a partner more than a prize. It all helped. But also so did the sex. Much to her chagrin, she found him incredibly attractive, and they definitely had angry sex more than once, which kept said attraction burning hot. Eventually they were able to learn how to live with each other and from there I think it just grew. Respect became friendship, and then friendship became love. She can't pinpoint an exact moment when it happened, but I like to think the first time she said the words was just another day. She woke up beside him, looked in his eyes, and blurted it out. It wasn't the smoothest of starts, but her love ends up running deep.

Hskshjsk OKAY WELL!! None of them are actually bad when it comes to style, so this is gonna be an interesting thing to think about.

First is obviously Aglaea. She knows how to dress, she keeps up with trends, she's probably got a million different outfits, and girl is an expert at accessorising. Definitely the most fashionable.

Second place probably goes to Amphitrite. She's a queen, so she likes to keep herself looking nice even when she's dressed down - plus she likes to give Poseidon something to look at. But she doesn't necessarily stick to trends, because again, she's a queen. She wears what she likes, but she always looks good.

Third place I'm going to give to Minthe. Her style isn't flashy, but it's elegant. She sticks to simpler styles when dressing down, and the colours are limited and dark, but she still looks nice. She caught the eye of Hades, so she definitely isn't a bad dresser by any means haha.

Fourth is Pasithea. Her style can be a bit... eclectic. The kind of style where you look at her and wonder exactly how she manages to pull it off, because it'd probably look ridiculous on anyone else. She likes to be comfortable, and while she definitely can dress up for certain occasions, she generally just wears whatever feels good to her, even if it's a bit out there.

Last is Medusa, although hers is an interesting case. Pre-curse, she presented herself quite beautifully and kept up with trends. Being kinda vain, her style sense was actually pretty good. Post-curse however, she tends to stick to very simple, plain garments; mainly in the form of wrap-style clothes. This is partly because it's easier to dress this way, but also because her new form brought her shame, and she lost the desire to preen herself. She's actually pretty dishevelled while still living in her cave, and she sees no point in trying to make herself pretty or fashionable. Also, living in isolation makes it pretty difficult to keep up with trends.

Poseidon's rage could stir many emotions in her, depending upon the circumstances of it. When he raged with justified divine power, it stirred in her a heat that could boil the entire ocean were it given form, spurring her to lustful action until they'd both exhausted themselves. Those were the rages she enjoyed, and could herself be prone to as well.

But it was the rages caused by small slights that stirred something different; a sorrowful pain to see her husband lose himself to the red hot anger that could possess him in a split second. Reason and control escaped him, turning him more beast than god until the anger was satisfied with the carnage he inevitably caused, usually bloody and fatal. She doesn't weep, but sometimes she wants to. It's hard to see him that way, but never has he disgusted her. Not in the past, and certainly not now.

Paying no heed to the mangled mess at her feet - which are spattered with flecks blood - she steps closer to him, and uses her thumb to wipe some of the ichor from his face.

"Then I will love the badness," she says, as if it's that simple. Because for her, it is. They have been through much, their start a rocky one to say the least, but in their centuries together they have endured. No matter how many loves have come and gone for either, they have always, always come back to each other. Poseidon has her love, and it will take more than rage to drive her off.

"I believe you can get better. But if that belief proves false, it doesn't matter. You are my husband; father of my children, holder of my heart. I have loved you through many storms, and will love you for many more. No matter the circumstance of your rage; I will be there."

poseidon rages, and there will be suffering. it was a truth he had known his entire life. he was a beast contained within a man, a tempest stretching and aching for release. little things had always set him off, driving him towards the madness, the red, the violent eruption. he liked to think it was a point in his favour that his rage no longer meant cities flooded and civilians drowned - but there was something more intimate about his outlets now. the snap of flesh and bone beneath his fist, the taste of ichor in his mouth, the satisfaction of beating someone within an inch of their life - or beyond, if they deserved it.

in the end, poseidon did not know which was worse. one of them certainly made him feel more like a monster when all was said and done, and it was not the simple wave of his hand to summon tidal waves.

it was almost too easy, the way his cool, calm demeanour shifted to rage. like pressing a button, the easygoing poseidon was gone, shedding that skin to unleash the beast beneath. there was no logical thought in his brain, no reason, despite how hard he worked when he was normal to keep his composure. there was something desperately wrong with him, and until he figured it all out, this would keep happening. the bloody knuckles, the split lips, the blackened eyes. the mangled bodies he left behind.

he couldn’t even remember what this one had done. it didn’t seem to matter now. but whatever it had been, poseidon had lost it, fists pummelling the man’s face until there was nothing of note left behind. the poor lad had gotten a few jabs in, strong enough to break poseidon’s nose - but he had lost, in the end.

amphitrite’s look of tenderness made him sick. he was a horrible person, couldn’t she see that? she should have recoiled in disgust. she should have left him. that would have been easier to stomach than her kindness.

“what if i’m never better?” poseidon whispered, ichor dripping into his mouth. “what if i’m always going to be bad?”

does aglaea prefer giving or receiving oral sex and how does it stack up against other forms of sex? does she have a preference for position, dynamic, etc?

Oh, she definitely prefers receiving. She can be a biiit of a pillow princess sometimes, though she is perfectly willing to participate in more for her partner, she's not selfish. But for sure she enjoys just having pleasure lavished on her, and receiving oral sex is pretty up there with her favourite kind of sex. I think it loses to vaginal simply because it lacks the closeness she likes to have, which leads nicely into the next part of the answer.

When it comes to positions, she likes ones that allow her to be close to her partner. So any positions that allow face-to-face and pressing the bodies close, because she likes to hold and be held. The intimacy gets her going more, and it means kisses and lots of touching are easy to do. And as for dynamics, she's definitely more on the submissive side. She likes to initiate, but once things heat up, she likes to submit herself to her partner's whims. She can be dominant on occasion, but it's not something she would be happy doing all the time.

does medusa have a high sex drive? what does she look for in a sexual partner?

Her sex drive kinda can adapt to her partner, but I think naturally it's on the low-average end of the scale. But she does have a high intimacy drive; kissing, cuddling, petting, nuzzling etc. She seeks this out a lot and can be quite touchy-feely, which can often lead to sex even if it wasn't her intention to initiate. She's almost always happy to have sex when this happens, but really she was just seeking physical contact. It's definitely also more intense post-curse, because all he time spent isolated in her cave made her touch-starved, so now she wants it even more. Partners shouldn't be surprised to find her touching them in some manner if they're in her vicinity, even if it's as simple as her tail wrapping around an ankle or something.

As far as sexual partners, I don't think she's that picky, though this is something I definitely need to think on more. I think she prefers nonhumans, but it really depends on the individual. She likes to touch, she likes to give, and she wants to make her partner happy. Emotion needs to be there - she's not a casual sex kind of girl. Idk, I need to play with her a bit more for sure.

@nectaric sent a meme: anemone: how does your muse view the world ; as a cruel & unforgiving place , a land full of wonders , or something in - between ? where does that world view come from ( what experiences , life lessons , etc . ) ? - for minthe!

Minthe's view of the world is... pessimistic, I'd say. I think even when she was young she thought of the world as a place that could be cruel or dangerous, but that definitely took on a bitter edge after Hades and her punishment. Unfortunately it has defined her views on many things, and she's certainly less trusting of good things now, because she sees the world as a place that may grant you your sweetest dreams, but also will rip it all away again on a whim if you don't tread carefully.

This view is only further backed up by the misfortune of those who tend to cross paths with the gods, or those who have stories written about them. She will hold these up as examples of why the world is cruel and how it will punish you no matter what, because that's "just how things are". It's quite sad, but she's stuck in a place of darkness, and it's so hard to see the good when you're as isolated as she is.

Headcanon re: Pasithea's parentage and her relationship to Dionysus and Hera.

I've had a lot of time to think of this but have been afraid to post it because I have an irrational fear of being perceived as cringe but screw it, here is my headcanon for Pasi's relationships with her parents.

Yes, parents. Because both Dio and Hera are her parents, but in different ways.

In my HC, her birth happened just prior to Dio being driven mad. I'm leaving it vague as to whether she was born in a traditional manner or otherwise was created, but either way, she was an infant when Dionysus, her father/creator, was cursed to wander the world in madness. The length of his wanderings isn't certain, but it did last multiple years at least, so it's safe to say he wasn't there for her childhood. However, she knew he was her sire, and likely did seek to know him in other ways, which leaves her forming a sort of bond to him despite him not being a presence in her young life. His absence wasn't his fault, so she hold no grudge or anger towards him - only a distant affection.

Later in life does get to know him, and she generally has a positive relationship with him. He's her father at the end of the day, and she loves him.

But lets rewind back to her infancy. She's brand new, and her father has gone mad. She, for whatever reason, has no other parent to raise her. So Hera takes her instead.

Perhaps it's pity, perhaps it's Pasi's soothing aura, or perhaps it's something nefarious, but Hera takes Pasithea in and raises her as her own. Hera becomes the mother she didn't have, and she bonds to her quite strongly. She views Hera as her mother, and refers to her as such even when she knows Hera didn't birth her.

I imagine it isn't until she's older she finds out about Hera being the one to drive Dio mad, and that does drive a wedge between them for quite some time, though Pasi does forgive Hera in the end. The relationship is never quite the same after, but Pasithea does still care for Hera, and still sees her as her mother. What's between Hera and Dio is their business; Pasithea will love them both and stay out of their animosity for each other.

And so it's this reason in my canon that Pasithea is referred to as a daughter of Hera as well as being a daughter of Dionysus. Dio is her father because fathered/created her, and Hera is her mother because she raised and nurtured her.
