Remember to tell yourself you are valuable and valid, that your existence matters, that you deserve you own space, rights, and respect. Tell yourself you are beautiful. Even if you don’t believe it at first. Repeat words of love to yourself, so you will internalize this as self-love. You might have learned to hate yourself, but you can learn more than that. You can learn how to care for yourself and love yourself, and let that love win.

This is a reminder for you to take the medication prescribed to you if you’re feeling sick, instead of trying to push through without it. Don’t wait until your pain gets too high and intolerable. You don’t need to prove to anyone you’re sick enough to get help, to go to the doctor, to get proper medication. Most people don’t live in pain daily, and it’s okay to need something to soothe that. You’re not weaker for needing it. You’re not a burden or an annoyance when you ask for help. You don’t need to break down before you get help, to wait until it gets “bad enough” to have any relief.
You deserve take care of your body, and it’s not morally wrong to need assistance, you don’t need to do it all on your own and it doesn’t mean you failed. I’m sorry someone made you feel like it was a bad thing to take medication, as if you had no control over yourself, as if you were being dramatic. You don’t have to prove your pain to them, but you need to validate what you feel and seek proper care. Please take care. You’re not meant to live in constant pain.

It’s okay to take a break sometimes. It’s okay to do nothing productive for a whole day, or even longer. Your brain needs to rest just as much as your body does. You aren’t a failure, or falling behind, or wasting time by resting. Your value isn’t based on your productivity, and you don’t have to be productive at every possible moment to be of worth.

Please don't worry about "being a fraud" or people thinking you were just faking your illness when you have good mental or physical health days. Allow yourself to enjoy feeling well, instead of overthinking how your illness and recovery might be perceived. Don't let feelings of imposter syndrome come over you and keep you from living your life. You don't always have to be at your worst for your illness to be valid and a serious matter.
