II agree, Dean gets away with ALOT of shit then has the NERVE to talk down on other people for shit they’ve done, and the fans agree with him. Like is him demeaning Jack and literally telling him to die when he hadn’t even done anything yet( reminder that he had just been born) “putting him in his place?” Because if it is, that just comes across as bullying. I find parts of his character interesting, but my god, he needs to realize he isn’t the only one going through tough shit.

You hate Dean yet he's the only one who puts Sam and Cas in their place when they mess up. Why do you say he's abusive when when what he does needs to be said and done?

He doesn’t put them in their place when they mess up, he yells at them, berates them, ignoring the fact that the things he usually mad about are things he himself did but oh no no no one can mention deans faults in the show because uwu poor deans feelings! Deans Gonna cry if he receives even a fraction of the “putting in place” (aka him being a asshole) energy he dishes others.

Tell me, why does Dean feel the need to continue bring up Sam and Castiels faults SEASONS after it’s happened? Is that really putting them in their place? Constantly reminding them the times Dean thinks they fucked up? They aren’t jokes. If you look at Castiel through out the seasons his confidence has plummeted since meeting Dean.

Also news flash, Dean is almost never “right” in the story. However the writing tries so hard to make Dean right (even though actions and logic speak louder then the shit that’s flowing out of Deans mouth). It was “right” for dean to say “hunting is not black and white” back in season 12 but then a few episodes later he’s trying to kill jack and treating hunting as if it’s Black and White again. His words rarely EVER match his actions

Conclusion: Dean is abusive, he’s a hypocrite, and Cas and Sam deserve 100% better

dean winchester does not know how to be an actual adult. he has absolutely no emotional maturity, not even a tiny bit.

being abusive to everyone around you when things don't go your way or you're irritated or you think they have messed up is Not Okay.

I honestly wouldn't mind Dean so much if the show and fans acknowledged he's a terrible person

Like everyone has bad traits and his almost overwhelm his good traits most of the time

I think I wouldn't mind him if he wasn't played as a hero when he's an abusive asshole. I love villains, I hate when villains are sold to us as heroes in a delusional lie.

i haven't watched spn in a long time (i actually quit cos of the big emphasis on destiel in fandom & the defending dean no matter what) so i'm not sure why your blog was recced for me, but i'm really glad it was! it's nice to see a spn blog and read through posts and think oh this is a safe blog for me to look at and enjoy the character i liked and see opinions i actually agree with (what?? foreign concept with this show).

Right! I 100% agree! And tbh I stopped watching SPN back in s13 because of dean (and just the Bs ways they used to bring back characters, “ketch twin” I’ll never get over how bad a plot that is 😪.

But yeah it’s always nice to find a bling you can agree with and not roll your eyes. Which I’m sure people roll their eyes at mine but whatever 😂 they do them, I do me and you do you :)

If y’all can’t see that the only ways that Dean Winchester treats interpersonal conflict is either, if they are the perpetrators, with verbal and emotional abuse (see season 8 relationship with Sam, “it should be you up there” or “no one cares you’re broken Cas”), or, if he was the perpetrator, with guilting and gaslighting, or it being written over completely (see season 9 Gadreel story arc or season 2 “dad told me to kill you” arc)

In this instance Cas didn’t tell the Winchesters that Jack lost his soul so therefore see example number one
