We all acknowledge that climate change is a pressing issue but do we really understand. Do we really understand that everything in the world that we claim ownership over belongs to mother nature. Our clothes are made from fibres grown in the earth. Our houses made from bricks that are made from clay from the earth. Our paper is made for trees that populate the earth. Even our coins are made from metals which were extracted from the earth. We have taken and taken and taken. When do we start giving back? Can we not even take a step back to realise there is NO FUTURE if we continue. There will be nothing. We say there is only one planet and its true. This is our only home. If there's a God or cosmic force it sure as hell wouldn't give us another planet after the way we treated this one.

Around the world, reduction in air pollution is taking place due to the global lockdown. The imternaional cutback of human activity is giving the planet a chance to heal.

The good thing about the lockdown is that my carbon foot print is reduced. We're using the same amount of electricity and water in the house but we aren't travelling around outside. Stay safe!

Tip #11
Unplug devices that aren’t in use. Even if they’re off, they could still be drawing energy. So simply pull the plug, and reduce your electricity bill!

So I started driving lessons last week. I know what you're thinking - awful for the environment, and I know. I learnt that braking slowly/over time is not only good for the health of passengers but also the environment, as it releases less emmissions.
I am not going to buy a car unless it's an eco one, but I a still going to learn how to drive and they don't teach that in eco cars.

Small things go along way. Have shorter showers this weekend = Save water. Take public transport/cycle/walk more = less toxic fumes/greenhouse gasses released into the atmosphere. Don't litter = less plastic on the streets/in the oceans. Please, make change now!
It really just hit me
If the world continues on the way it is now, nobody has a future. I don't have a future because I'll be dead by the time I can achieve things. I'll never be able to grow old and have kids and actually amount to something.

These are some things we can all do to reduce our carbon footprint which helps the environment.
I know I need to be better, I implore you all to try at least one of these things every week (it can be the same one). I will.

The UK general election is fast approaching and now is the time to enact change. The people have the power to vote for whoever they want, as they should.
One thing I beg of you; consider the environment before you vote. This may be the last general election where a change in leadership could make a significant difference with climate change. Read the manifesto if whoever you're voting for and see what promises they're making about the environment.
Now is the time to act!

I'm proud to say I'm now a full fledged vegetarian, and well on my way to veganism. Even if you aren't ready to become a vegetarian, I ask that you take one or two days a week to have a completely vegetarian, or better yet, vegan diet. I emsure you, the planet will feel it!

WE NEED TO DO MORE
I can sit here all day and post little infographics on how best to reduce your waste, but I'm not practicing what I'm preaching if I'm not making serious changes to my diet.
Calling all veggies and vegans!
I need your help, gimme your tips and tricks, reblog this and get your friends to give me tips and tricks, educate more people!

I know I've been gone for a while, but I HAVE NOT abandoned the cause.
I wanted to share this because I feel like we need to hear about the positives as well as the must changes.
A while ago, my city change their buses from petrol/diesel based to Biogas powered double deckers (with chargers). These new buses qualify for the Low Carbon Emission Bus Cetificate.
I think this is a really positive step towards my city becoming carbon free before 2030!

Guys, im back! We need to stop eating so much meat since the keeping of livestock is contributing to global warming more than vehicles and deforestation. This is shocking but now that we know we need to act on it. <3

Did you know: a large source of air pollution is domestic gardening? Between the petrol powered mower and nitrogen-based fertiliser, your gardening habits are probably doing more harm than good. It is TRUE that grass lawns soak up (and store) CO2 but other factors make it so that the emissions given off are more than the carbon soaked up. There are a number of compromises that will allow you to keep a nice lawn whilst reducing air pollution such as:
1) half the regularity of mowing your lawn i.e. once a fortnight instead of once a week.
2) Keep watering to a minimum.
3) Only use fertiliser when grass is newly planter. A natural alternative is grass cuttings/clippings. This is better than fertilisers since it’s the perfect source of nutrients for turf grass. Additionally it will save gardeners money... win-win.
4) Use a mulching mower. These are lawnmowers which recycle the leaves/grass in your garden and let them sink into the grass.
5) LET IT GROW. (unpopular opinion I know)

It’s honestly heart-breaking. I cannot express how sad this makes me feel. We all need to do more to stop this atrocity.
A good way to help is to sign petitions on line. It’s free, it’s quick, and it’s a great way to work towards positive change. Just search ‘Deforestation Petition’ and take your pick!
