Posting this to share the pain 💔
Wow, seeing it for myself hurts me more than I thought it would, haha.
"Pained understanding flashed in his eyes"

If I'm not mistaken it's the time we see that sad expression on his usually emotionless face. Bet it feels extra hurtful hearing that particular line from the only being immune to your uncontrollable destructive powers. For healing purposes, I demand the option to hug him in the next update.
We thank you for your sacrifice, dear Anon 🙏

I'm replaying episode 10/season 2, and in the final battle the narration says sth like, Hunger is just standing there, not helping the horsemen but he also wouldn't leave. So one of the choices you get is to tell him to "get lost".
...and the narration says that you could see pain in his eyes, but he wouldn't show it. And then they show him and he. Looks. So. Sad. And the prompt says [Hunger is used to this reaction, but he was upset to hear it from you]. 🥺
Tumblr media
Ouch, Anon.
Ouchie.
I went to sleep with a heartache, lol.
Man, if this is upsetting to us, I can only imagine how devastating killing Hunger will be. Author better compensate for the angst with some fluff in his romance ;')

I was replaying HS2 and I completely forgot the horsemen have a sexy second form. Do you think our boy has one too? 👀
🙈Shameless admission🙈: The certified monster lover in me is delighted whenever the horsemen's second forms pop on on my phone screen. I kinda wish they went more wild with Plague's eldritch form, tho. She still looks too comfortably human.
Our boy certainly has a true form as well! For some reason, I'm imagining his to be a tall shadowy figure with elongated elegant limbs, ghastly tendrils from his back, and ethereal green eyes. He'd basically look either like the embodiment of a restless nightmare or the embodiment of a peaceful dream :)

When they showed the field of flowers, I started crying so hard, because that is where she spoke to her dad for the last time (that moment was magnificent; it emotionally destroyed me).
And I'm thinking, that must be such a special place for her. And now that's where she and Hunger kissed for the first time. My heart... 🥺💗
You know what's crazy, Anon? Mc's father, in that dream she had of him, even ascribes death, hope or the illusion of hope to what warmth brings to a stagnating, waiting winter.
Looking back at it, it kinda reminds me of Hunger and Mc's little exchange, with Hunger being the Ice king coldness and Mc being warmth that melts his walls down.

The parallels are so beautiful. Both scenes were emotional. And I find myself enjoying the idea behind mc's safe mental heaven being a filed of daisies. Something so simple yet so rich in symbolism.
Tumblr media
Daisies are often regarded as weeds in fancier gardens, but in reality they are humble, useful plants. In nature, they are a primary source of food for honeybees, while for us humans, daisies are still being used as base ingredients in today's herbal medicines.
They are beautiful in their simplicity, and hold various meanings.
One popular myth, for example, says that daisies spring when a child dies. It is said that God sprinkles them in the path of parents to ease their grief by reminding them of the child's innocence and cheerfulness.
In the matters of life, daisies signify hopefulness in new beginnings, in friendships they are regarded as the unending gratitude and unwavering loyalty you have for your friends, while in love, daisies represent the pure and tender love of soulmates.
Thank you for coming to my flower language TedTalk ;)

Honestly, ending 2 sounds like my cup of tea. I could see the author doing sth like that. I kind of hope she writes sth like it.
It's a strange situation. In HS1, you could side with Malbonte and still get a happy ending, and the world would only change. In this case, these motherfuckers are destroying existence as we know it, so... it's hard for me to think of a happy ending between MC + horsemen.
I'm excited to see what awaits for us in season 3 sexy scene wooohooo. In fact, I'm actually enjoying HS2 more than the first one. Everything about the 4 horsemen is just so fascinating and more interesting than Malbonte.
;) I'm a sucker for well written bad endings. Be they tragic, bittersweet or terribly sad, if they make me feel anything other than disappointment, then I consider them a success. I hope we get this quality lvl from what endings hs2's author planned for us!
Season 3 promises soo much good stuff. We only got to choose our li this update so this means we will finally have exclusive romantic scenes with our chosen lis. Finally!
HS2 > HS1, and I will proudly die on this hill :))). I personally think the entire apocalypse theme is well written, while the horsemen make for interesting antagonists; each is unique and comes with their own colourful little personality. I am into the whole inhuman Eldritch entities vibes they and the Mother have going on. It elevates HS franchise to something more valuable, than the typical paranormal smut filled reverse-harem romance that HS1 used to be. It used to be so darn campy and cringe now that I think about it...eugh.

do you think Hunger will lose his "powers" at the end of the story?
A very good question. I honestly have no idea in which direction the author will take with Hunger ( and War for the matter). Their endings seem set in stone to be bleak if we go with what we already know, from the story so far, about the Horsemen. I hope we do have good endings with them, tho :(.
But as a result, the bellow text is entirely my speculation mixed in with wish fulfillment ( because why not! :D)
Soooo, I'm thinking that Hunger will have three romantic endings:
Mother of Life takes away his powers, downgrades him into an immortal, and lets him live out his eternal life however he wants to, as a gift. Hunger and Mc remain together, as they help rebuild and heal the ravished world left by the Apocalypse. (Good Ending 1: By Wings and Ash)
Mother of Life takes away his powers, downgrades him into a mortal, lets him live the rest of his days on earth as the ultimate punishment, and upon his death, his soul/life essence gets destroyed. The Mc remains at his side until he dies of old age. Hunger gets what he initially wanted (death, and the chance to experience all he joys that life has to offer without his powers getting in the way) but ultimately feels a deep sorrow about leaving Mc in the end. (Bad Ending: Mortal Sorrows, Immortal grief)
Mother of Life elevates both Hunger and Mc to Godlings. Now as a powerful being, blessed by Mother herself, Mc and Hunger stand on a gentle equal and balanced footing. In this ending, they both depart Shepha and Shephamalum's realm to create their own utopic worlds together. They eventually become the Mother and Father figures inside the pantheon of a new civilization on a planet they created ;> (Good Ending 2: We be but little Gods)
Thank you for the question! What do you think about all this, Anon? Do you think the author will be cruel enough to give us bad to worse endings ? :''' )

"What if I want to experience this with you?" I don't think I'll ever get over this. My cold, frozen heart just melted. I haven't loved a LI like this since Loki.
I have to praise the author, I just adore how... "Alien" he feels whenever he's present. Quick, someone give her an oscar or sth.
I originally thought a sequel to HS1 was a bad idea with a poor storyline, but the author just proved me wrong. HS2 just kept getting better and better despite its terrible S1 start.
Hunger is now in my top rc lis ;). He's intriguing as a character, and incredibly wonderful as a li. And God, yes! The alien aspect of him is pure delight to me too. It's an element that is so well executed with Hunger!
Anon, if you're ever interested in reading more about this character archetype (stoic and emotionless God, with a slight mischievous yet highly cunning side, who also supports and respects the fmc for her aptitudes and company), I highly rec you check out these books for their respective pairings:
Cassiopeia and Hun-Kamè from Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia:
Tumblr media
Yeine and Nahadoth from The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N. K. Jemisin
Tumblr media
(art by Liam W.)
I can def see traits from these two in our dear Hunger :>

Besides his diamond scene, and all the praises and worried looks he gave mc, I think my fav scene is still the one with him grinning like a Cheshire cat at Death almost calling him out as their group's betrayer, LOL.

Oh my God, his blushing face. 💕🥺 ...he's so beautiful...
He so is, Anon ❤
I'm truly excited to see all of his expressions. Rn, he's pretty emotionless but, Anon, you should see how many soft expressions he has. And they are all only for mc's eyes 🥺

Were you romancing someone else before Hunger? I was romancing Luci, but he lost me when he killed her dad. I get the situation, but still. Fuck him, and not in a good way.
Hello, Anon
My original romance was Loy 🙃 but now he's permanently gone from the story. I'm glad Hunger lived up to my expectations so that my mc can quit being a widow. It wasn't fun going through 1 and a half season with no LI, ngl. I was close to dropping HS2 midway through s1.
Totally understandable reaction to Luci's behaviour. I hated him killing mc's dad especially when we didn't even had a good relationship in the first place. Like dude, did I asked you to do that... I wanted mc to have her character development moment but no, Luci took it away from her and made it about him 😬
