CLIMATE CHANGE - IT’S A THING AND HUMANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS EXACERBATION - Our planet is full of wonderful and beautiful landscapes, creatures, ecosystems, weather, etc. It is so important that we are allowed to conduct research and create a scientific catalogue of this world. Marking discoveries insights awe, hope, inspiration, and wonder. Collecting data helps us conserve, understand, and protect the natural world and our resources. EVERYTHING is interconnected and we can not spend a moment believing that studying any part of it is useless and unimportant compared to $$$$$. I will not let people forget how important and magnificent our planet is. I will continue to encourage a love for understanding ourselves, our effects on others and this planet, and the natural world.
Here is a picture of the Dead Sea from the top of Masada in Israel. The Dead Sea is shrinking from the effects of climate change. The desert is becoming more arid, causing the sea to lose water to evaporation faster than it can replenish it, and surrounding agriculture’s use of the landscape and water is causing sink holes to appear. Not only would the loss of such an important Israeli feature impact Israel’s economy, the wildlife is majorly affected. “Endemic species and migrating birds are seeing huge changes in their habitat because of the sea’s decline, attributed partly to climate change. According to an article by Dave Levitan on Environment 360, sinkholes have swallowed trees. An Israeli researcher, Eli Raz, said that special habitats and endemic species are under threat due to receding water levels. Oases that once existed can disappear, affecting migratory birds.” - love you’re planet. Educate yourselves and others. And DO NOT STAY SILENT. -

To those in the Trump Administration that believe that humans may not play a role in climate change. The effects are becoming increasingly obvious. Although California is in a drought (from climate change in the first place), it is not equipped naturally or structurally for a more than average down pour. Biodiversity is at risk. People are at risk to new diseases that will now have a wet, polluted place in California. We need to continue to know that climate change is caused by our actions. Otherwise, our efforts to combat the set in  effects caused by the changing climate and create a healthier environmental future will become less important than money, borders, and emitting horrible gas. We have to give climate change our upright attention to create cleaner a planet, healthier lifestyles, and a more connected world.

One of my favorite Anthropology professors from San Diego Mesa College took a group of students to Tanzania and has a great blog about their adventure there! Take a look, feel inspired, and learn a bit about other people :) I can’t wait to finish reading.
