it's not her fault there's been an oversight, that miguel hasn't factored in that only one variant of natasha romanoff is a spider, a spider like them anyway. it's an exploit he should have anticipated, and frankly so should her knowledge of the multiverse. someone doesn't become as paranoid as natasha is for no reason.

the facility itself should be harder to break into, but she supposes she can't fault a bunch of idealistic teenagers and jaded adults for thinking they'd survive if someone really decided to breach their supposed-safe place and decimate it. they've survived a lot, after all, this bunch --- and there's credit due there. but not from her.

she's not trying to hide, as she gazes over nueva york. she wonders what the version of herself that lives here is doing, vaguely, wonders if she's happier or more at peace. she thinks about them a lot, the others, wonders if they're the key to mapping it all out. if they have the answers. the risk, of course, outweighs the reward and so she remains in the dark.

figuratively more than anything, as neon lights flash against her skin. her eyes flicker to her left when she hears his approach. she's been waiting for him, wondering if he'll step willingly into her web or if he's going to put up a fight...
