{mother/son conversation} Laura: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Stiles: "Hmmmm, I wish I could be a flower because then I could smell bees but they wouldn't sting me." Laura: "But you know that flowers can't smell, right?" Stiles: "Oh. Well I still want to be a flower so I can help the bees get the pollen on their fur." #tinysoul #borninsavannah #soulsofsavannah #thankslaura #flowers #bees #kidsofinstagram

"I’ve never seen this part of the world - Nova Scotia. It’s very interesting.” Of all the places you’ve driven, what is your favorite? “Vancouver, British Columbia, for the 2010 Olympics. We went up and transported the hockey teams once we got there. I was supposed to drive Team Canada, but ended up driving Belarus. Team Canada arrived the same time that Team USA did. The guy who was right under me in our company, he had Team USA. When Team Canada got there, they said, we want a Canadian driver and a Canadian bus. So, the fight was on since day one." Do you remember if Belarus medaled? “They didn’t medal, but they advanced to the second round. Nobody thought they would make it anywhere.” I have a theory as to why they did - the bus driver! (haha) Did you get to watch any of the games? “Oh, yeah. We watched all the practices, and they told us we could not veer off the specific routes, and 'if you do, a helicopter will land right in front of you and police will surround.' I have never seen more security in my life, and I did twenty years in the Marine Corps!" -Al #soulsofsavannah #travelingsouls #coachlighttours #canada (at Nova Scotia, Canada )

"I have been riding for about 4 years now. I started skateboarding when I lived in Germany, then I just picked back up with long boarding when I moved here." Why were you living in Germany? "My dad is actually a special forces officer for the US Army. I saw a really cool skateboard in Germany and got it. I really didn’t even know what it was, but my dad taught me how to ride. Then, I just picked up long boarding. A skateboard is a little shorter and a longboard is for cruising. You don’t do any tricks on the longboard, it’s just for riding around and taking in the city." -Ashley #skateboard #longboard (at Forsyth Park)

Where did you honeymoon? "Key West! It was a huge challenge finding somewhere to go within driving distance that was also as beautiful and friendly as Savannah. Key West was somewhere neither of us had visited before, so we researched for weeks on where to stay. We took Dave's convertible and stopped overnight at his mom's in Vero Beach, which is half way to KW. We met some amazing people during our 6 day visit. There was a couple staying at our hotel who were from Macon! Anyone we chatted with commented at how beautiful Savannah is and that it is one of their favorite cities, and we get to live here! We met a bartender who was in the process of purchasing a restaurant location near downtown. Although a 12 hour drive, we felt like we were so close to home. We will definitely be going back." -Kim & Dave #travelingsouls {photo submitted by the honeymooners} ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #travelingsoul & #soulsofsavannah on your summer traveling photos! we want to know where our Sav souls are!! ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ (at Key West)

"I feel uncomfortable. I'm not photogenic." You're great! [later that evening] What is your dream job? "Be a teacher. It took me a while to figure that out. Up until last year, I wanted to do everything - sometimes I still get the urge to run my own bakery, be an astronaut or paint all day and make no money at all. But when I sit and think about it, being a teacher just seems awesome. Of course, it will be a lot of work and probably pretty stressful and exhausting at some points, but I feel like I could do a lot of good things with it, too. Eventually, I hope to work up to my ideal position, which would be to work at an international school like the one I went to in Israel. I would get to teach and travel. And the school there was beautiful (a huge plus)! -Samantha ‪#‎teacher‬ ‪#‎artist‬ ‪#‎international‬ ‪#‎travel‬

[Kelly continued] “I am not artistic by any means, but I am very emotional as a person and just love tattoos. I love how you can express yourself without saying anything...The mask is the first aspect. It’s very feminine and when you think Mardi Gras, you think outgoing and social, which I am. But then I am masked because I am a little bit reserved. I am very outgoing, but also like — I need to crawl into my home with my four dogs and just have my me time. I also have a masculine mask here watching over the feminine one because I’m a hopeless romantic — I needed a man watching out for the girl. The owl is for my mom…she had this poem ever since I was little ‘The wise old owl sat on an oak, the more he saw, the less he spoke.’ It’s about not talking but listening. And she is kind of like the wise old owl in my house." @districtcafeandeatery (at The District Cafe & Eatery)
