āI stopped that-!ā He snapped in reply, stamping a foot to punctuate the sentence.Ā āI havenāt taken anything else from fellow prisoners.ā He set his jaw, but that turned into almost ducking away as the other approached. A good deal of surprise radiating through him at the sheer shock of the conversation turning so foul, so quick.
āWhy would I lie about this? Why would I lie, now, at least? Thereās consequences to not getting that medication, and I thought it might take longer to set in, but so long as I canāt get back on track with that regime, Iām going to continue experiencing pain and atrophy!ā He bit at his lip before dropping his gaze to the floor, by this point having backed away enough to have himself cornered. His hands were now pressing against his own abdomen in attempt to get some of the cramping pains to cease, if only for a moment. At least over the past two days, in his usually quiet dedicated work, thereās evidence that something truly was wrong - Heād been avoiding moving very much, shied away from any exercises, and often just found something, be it a bedpost or pillow or his own legs folded against his chest to cling onto tightly.
āIām not lying. I promise you, sir, Iām telling you the truth right now.ā He moved his attention back up to the man, the threat of tears actually pricking at his eyes, which had gained a visible wet to the corners.Ā āIām begging you to believe me-ā
southernbellum:
Disbelief spread across his face. All heād overhead and information been able to quietly acquire told him that Robert was a good man. One who would do go to the ends of the earth to protect his men. Apparently one had to earn the privilege of becoming one of his men.
He had the option of storming away- That could be taken either way, that he told a complete lie, or it was the truth. Too much risk of losing any work heās done. Hoganās trust was imperative. There was the almost too obvious option of just opening his shirt to reveal why he needed testosterone, but thatās both clichĆ© and an incredibly dangerous move, especially considering how little trust he had in Hogan yet. The uniform did not help that, nor the relative position of power.
āColonel Hogan. Iām telling the truth. What do I have to do to get you to believe me?ā Outright begging was his next option, if that didnāt work.
āHow about giving me a good reason to believe you?ā Rob barked back, standing up from his chair again, irritation getting the better of him. If there was one thing he couldnāt stand it was not being told the truth - the lack of sleep from the past nightsā missions didnāt exactly help the case either.Ā
āLook, Lanier, Iāve all but had it with you,ā he continued, stepping up to Jon. āIf you wanna spend your time here isolating yourself and being your own best buddy thatās not my problem but it sure as hell is my problem if one of my men is first caught stealing and then gets cozy with the Krauts! And then has the nerve to ask me for a favour while still lying in my face!ā

Jonathan is a bit taken aback - it had been a long time since heād really been close enough for continued interaction with certain humans to actually have consistent conversation. Usually he was transferred to another place as soon as he started making friends. Something about keeping him from getting distracted from his job.
āKeeping ones loyalties straight, and understanding oneās role in the scheme of things. If it werenāt for mistakes I made a long time ago, Iād never have been made to be here.ā

āThereās more to serving oneās country that being in its military.ā
This is a man who appears barely old enough to be out of basic training, and yet he carries an officerās rank and bears the scars of far too much life. He might be a touch intimidating if he werenāt quite so short.

iuriis:
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Currently, he was sure that there was no one around here to hear what was going on or enter inside to catch the near harassment. At the step away from Jonathan and George advanced forwards with much DETERMINATION on what he had set his mind on. He decides on doing nothing in particular except making his way towards Jon, until he could see both of them getting closer to the wall behind. Before he would let the other man ESCAPE from this perfectly timed trap, George would make an attempt at pushing him right against the cement, one of his hands reaching for Jonās NECK and the other his HAIR, as a means to pin him down. To make it worse, his knee went for pressing into him as well.Ā ā ā- I should like to see how TRUE that is.Ā ā
Yelling for help would not give any sort of relief- it would only get him in trouble, likely sent home if not merely transferred to the auxiliary forces. Instead he started to make another attempt at distance, but before he could get started in the next step, breath fled his lungs and the sharp pain of skull impacting concrete filled his eyesight with stars. Both of his hands moved towards Georgeās neck, nails ready to dig into flesh as soon as contact was made, however weakened his strength might be by the sheer surprise of the motions.

A defiant glare sparked in the ladās eyes. His jaw was much sharper now, and albeit freshly shaven, a shadow of stubble was barely visible if one looked close enough. He had taken great care in tailoring his own uniform to be broader at the shoulders, bring attention to his face and chest - now suspiciously flat - and attention away from his hips. One with very keen eyesight or who knew exactly what they were looking for might spot the tell-tale curve of waist, but he had done a good job of concealing himself for the most part.Ā āThat may have been true at one time, but times have changed, as has my name. I am Jonathan Thomas Edward Lanier, and will respond to no other name.ā He took a step backwards, just to keep himself just outside of armās reach.Ā
southernbellum:
Instinct tugged his shoulders back and chin upwards as he was inspected. He had been in military service with quite a bit of devotion for a good while now, and it showed in the discipline instilled to his posture and carry. āI donāt exactly have the most lenient of brothers. Daniel is hardly kind.ā He toned lowly, and the otherwise neutral expression fell to one of disdain at the name. āJonathan.ā He corrected, shifting his weight slightly before resuming the same posture. āI was a traitor to the Union. Daniel saw fit that I serve as a soldier.ā Granted, he meant in his own army. Not to the service of a Nation heād swore to leave be. This was Jonathanās passive act of rebellion, so far as he was allowed. āI go by Jonathan these days.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā George looked him over and tried to determine the most major changes in his appearance and style. To him, Jonathan was still a woman and to him this was a good offense. To think that someone was MENTALLY ILL enough to think they were the opposite gender than that of which they were given at birth. They would have to fix that. He scoffs a little, then snorts. ā ā- No, YOU told me your name was JEANNE. My dear, I wonder what had happened with you.Ā ā He takes a step forwards, standing right before the American and with much authority. ā ā- Must I show you why you are WRONG?Ā ā One hand inches closer to Jonās hips, wishing to touch him.

Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon settled an argument by drawing a line on a map 247 years ago today. That line went on to frame the greatest conflict this nation lived through, and it still marks the boundary of being southern.

Instinct tugged his shoulders back and chin upwards as he was inspected. He had been in military service with quite a bit of devotion for a good while now, and it showed in the discipline instilled to his posture and carry. "I don't exactly have the most lenient of brothers. Daniel is hardly kind." He toned lowly, and the otherwise neutral expression fell to one of disdain at the name. "Jonathan." He corrected, shifting his weight slightly before resuming the same posture. "I was a traitor to the Union. Daniel saw fit that I serve as a soldier." Granted, he meant in his own army. Not to the service of a Nation he'd swore to leave be. This was Jonathan's passive act of rebellion, so far as he was allowed. "I go by Jonathan these days."
southernbellum:
This meeting was incredibly unlike his reintroduction to Alfred, who he had managed to hold the lie of being a completely different person for nearly a month before it was discovered. And yet the man of Britain seemed to know immediately, before Jon had ever even approached the man. There was always the chance George had been watching since the day he returned to D.C., if not soon after. In any case, he turned his head towards the hand, honestly going for making himself dramatic.
āA lot has changed since you and I last spoke.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā George was filled with connections and links, and he was bound to have his ear and eyes to the keyhole. Nothing escaped him when he wanted to learn of it, or only rarely it did. George made a small step FORWARDS, coming in front of Jon to get a better look at him and the developed changes of his being. How much he preferred to have him as a woman, and to have him wear much more easily tearing clothing. Like DRESSES. ā ā- Yes, yes, that is EVIDENT. I can see for the worst.Ā ā He added with a slight smile, then tilted his head. ā ā- Itās quite peculiar you do not speak to me in so long, and all of a sudden you are showing your loyalty once again, only when war struckā- I think no one ought to have so much liberty at hand without paying a REASONABLE price, Jeanne. ā
