Hey, idk if you're still running this, but would you know how to make Pearl's turtleneck thing? I'm working on a pearl cosplay and I'm using some turquoise v-necks as part of it (they were cheap and the best I could find)
Oh yes, we are active, just busy preparing more then anything. We are planning on making a tutorial in the future for her shirt (hopefully soon). I make all my own patterns by hand (which I will post) but if you are editing a shirt, I would use newspaper to make a blueprint in yourself (if that makes sense), or copy the pattern of a pre-existing turtleneck shirt. I’ll try to find tutorials of this but hopefully this helps and if you need more of an explanation, don’t be afraid to ask.

Pearl’s Socks Tutorial
This is going to be simple tutorial, I just winged most of it so figuring this out is pretty easy (I am just trying my hand at writing tutorials). I was recently looking for pink socks for my Steven Universe Pearl cosplay and I’m extremely particular about how they look so I couldn’t find any to suit my fancy. I ended up finding some white socks that were perfect and not too expensive. From this point, this is basically a tutorial on how I dye all my fabrics for my cosplays. Let’s go make some socks!
I started out with Rit Dye in Petal Pink and all I did was put a tiny bit of the liquid dye into a large cooking pot. (By tiny, I mean about ¼ of a teaspoon in about 2 quarts of water.) I mixed that in until it was satisfactory and then put the pot on medium heat.
I put my socks in and began to stir immediately. One of the most important parts of this is to keep stirring throughout the process to keep the color even (Be careful not to splash yourself, as I did) I lifted the socks out a couple times to check the color and once the water began to look less pink (the dye was in the socks), I moved the pot to my sink and took them out of the water with a spoon.

(Here is the picture of how it looked when I checked on it.)
If you are dyeing a large piece of fabric (like the ones you’ll see in some of my up-and-coming tutorials), pour out the water into the sink instead and use tongs to help pick it out.
Then I gently squeezed out the fabric as best as I could and put it in the dryer/let it dry. When it is mostly dry, the fabric will look lighter then when it was in the dye. I wasn’t happy with the color yet, so I went back in with another small amount of dye and repeated the whole thing. Remember: you can dye something darker but you can’t dye it lighter. I always take it in steps, the socks took 4 total coats.
On the 3rd time, I realized it was turning out too pink, and added a little Golden Yellow to the mix. Most of the dyeing process is just guesswork and finding out the right color ratios. If you want super accurate colors, I always recommend using a test piece of fabric before you dye an entire sheet.
When I was completely done and my fabric was dried to the right color, the last step was to keep the color from bleeding. I just used Rit Color Stay and followed the stove top directions. Even with the dye fixative, I still wash any dyed fabrics by themselves to prevent from bleeding.
And then you are all done and can go and dance or do whatever you do in your freshly dyed socks! Thank you for reading this tutorial (I know I was a bit long-winded) and if you have any questions or input, the askbox is always open!

(Note that this picture was actually taken after the third coat! I added more of an orange-y tint to them later on.)
