ACTIVITY

We have now officially been back a week, but because of being gone for the month that we were, Summer and I have been slightly lenient on activity. Now that the week grace period is over, we are now holding an activity check. Instead of your usual activity check where we check for three days inactivity, we're going to be using activity since we've been back. So if you have not posted within the week that Something Special has been back, you are now on warning and have 24 hours to post and interact. Failing to do so is releasing your character and position within the group. As of now, the following currently have 24 hours to interact:

Like the above title says, we're back! After a month long hiatus so everyone could focus on their school work, exams and etc, Something Special is opened back again for posting and interacting. Within the next couple of days we will be doing an activity check to see who is still with us, which means if you want to stay apart of the Something Special family, you have to start interacting on the dash again.

Summer and I have also decided that with the hiatus a little time jump is in store. When we left off, it was the beginning of the school year. Homecoming had just happened, Halloween was coming, etc etc. Now that we're back, it'll be the current time of the year. With that, we're going to adopt what they did on the show right before the flash forward scenes we got. Mr. Schue has been made principal, the school is to be made into a school dedicated to the arts and Sam has been given leadership of the New Directions (or not if the our Sam decides they don't want that for their character). So it’s summer break, which means those who attend school and return to Lima in the summer will be home now. 

If you're sticking with us, we also would like you to send a paragraph or so of what your character has been up to in the last couple of months when we left off. Once you've sent that in to the main, we'll tack them onto the character bios so people can look over them and get a feel of where people are. 

We’re also considering downsizing the group a little bit. Nothing is set in stone yet, but with the difficulty of finding people to play the new newbies before our break, we think it might be best to pull them from the group. Once we make a definite decision, we'll let you all know. Thanks, and we can't wait to start writing with you all again.

With so many of our group on hiatus due to the crunch from final projects and exams for college, the two of us have discussed things and have decided to put Something Special on a full hiatus from now until Friday, May 15th. 

We love this roleplay and our players, and rather than have the majority of you stressed out about activity and plots getting sidelined, we want you to have one less thing to stress about, and we hope that in a month’s time, with summer break starting, that we can re-open and be as active as we were at the start. Discussions of a mini revamping and time jump are pending, we’ll keep everyone up to date on that. 

So, crack those books, kill those finals and we’ll see you soon!

BIOGRAPHY

After her break-up with Santana, Dani decided to quit waitressing and bartend at the pub her roommate had been working at for the past year. It wasn’t all because of the Latina, obviously, Gunther was pretty gross and as much as she loved singing, having to do it in a greasy diner just wasn’t something she could do for much longer. Plus, bartending paid more, it landed her a regular gig on Wednesday nights, and she wouldn’t have to see Santana during her shifts, which was enough for Dani. While she enjoyed her job, the last couple of months were kind of a blur to Dani, just because not much had happened. Her close friends were also her coworkers, and their nights out usually consisted of drinks at the pub. Her weeks were plagued with routine and it was starting to take a toll on her. Even songwriting was proving difficult these days. She had always been so sure that music was what she wanted to do with her life, but more and more she was starting to doubt that, and that scared the crap out of her.

BIOGRAPHY

Ever since she’s transferred to Thurston, Marley has felt strange. Despite the ups and downs, the fights and arguments, McKinley always felt like home to her, and although she had some of her friends at her new school it just wasn’t the same. Things with Jake were… awkward, to say the least, and Ryder and Unique were good friends, but it didn’t compare to having a family like she did last year. Sure, transferring was the safest option after Sue threatened to get her mother fired, and no matter how much she loved everyone at McKinley she wasn’t going to behave like a selfish brat and demand to stay, but that didn’t mean she didn’t miss it. People like Miss Pillsbury and Mr Schue would’ve known what to advise if she told them about her problems, maybe even Finn or Santana. But here? Here she only had her few friends and herself.

This, however, didn’t stop her from trying to enjoy her last year the best that she could. Getting the best grades possible and working on her songs was important to her back then and it still is up to now. After all, the only way she’s going to get into a proper college is if she applies for a scholarship, and for that she needs to excel at everything. Marley isn’t really sure of what school she’s supposed to apply in order to follow her dreams just yet, but she knows that when the time comes she’ll probably send a thousand applications and hope for the best.

Alright beautiful members and main lurkers, couple of admin notes to update everyone on things. Layne and I have been discussing how to improve things and make important information easier for potential players as well as current players, to be up to date on plots in play, who’s doing who, what characters might be most wanted, and what characters/players are on hiatus. 

So first thing is first, we now have a Hiatus Page, please do look it over as it not only lets you know who’s out and for how long -- but also has the new hiatus rules and the ‘form’ to send into the main to request hiatuses. 

We have also decided not to have a gossip blog, but to do a Weekly Update on the main, which will basically be in the same style as the previously on voice over at the beginning of an episode -- and give a basic rundown of what’s been happening in the lives of all the gleeks in play, to hopefully help not only keep us all up to date, but help potential new people coming in not feel so duck out of water before diving in. 

The first update will cover the start of the roleplay up to where we all are now. So I need you guys to please send in blurbs to the main, via ask/fanmail/submit, to cover the time in basic plot points of the last two months. You don’t need to go too in depth, and if you guys could submit those blurbs tonight (Monday), that would be ideal. Updates will be on Mondays or Tuesdays of each week, and we’d like you to send your blurbs in, in future, by Sunday night.

That’s the basic update for now, we have other things that we’ll be informing you guys on later, we don’t want to bombard you with too much at once. In any event, we want to thank you, our players, for sticking out the activity lull and we’re very glad to see life on the Something Special dash again.

Would your Blaine be opposed to reuniting Blainofsky?

I’ve spoken with her, and she is not opposed to the idea of it. That said, it needs to be stressed that ships are based on chemistry -- so there is no promise of a Blainofsky endgame or midgame, it all comes down to chemistry.

Everything is current, all our players have contacted us in regards to activity, and for the time being no one is in danger of losing their role. So for the moment, you can find open characters here (x).
