How would the Diaboys react to a sacrificial bride who is the complete opposite of Yui? They are both best friends, but they are completely different. She is tougher, more independent, bolder, and braver, and doesn't accept being treated like a mere piece of meat. She has even fought with the boys without caring about the punishments they would receive, even going so far as to retaliate and defend Yui, exposing the boys' hypocrisy.

My answer: she will not live long.

I know many users here have written prompts and headcanons about a sacrificial bride who is the complete opposite of Yui and this one defies the DL boys bcos she is not just a piece of meat but lemme remind you: THIS IS DIABOLIK LOVERS AND THE BOYS ARE VAMPIRES. To vampires, humans are food. Yui/MC is treated as such even if the story progresses and they become nice to her (like eventually date her or something.)

Even in Ayato's route, he couldn't comprehend Yui/MC as "human" because all his life, human equals food. But that doesn't mean he doesn't cherish her or love her. He has those special feelings for her, of course.

But if it's an MC who openly defies the DL boys, they will never get out alive. They will suffer before they know it. The boys are all vampires (or unique beings from the demon world). They can break a bone or two if they feel like it; or even torture the girl until she dies.

well, y'all, it's that time again

i'm starting classes again today. i'm taking 2 classes this time vs my previous 4 so i'll still be around, but there will be times where i'm doing homework/studying.

and don't worry, none of my fics are going anywhere! i'll have some free times (like weekends) where i'll have a chance to write, but my classes are going to have to come first.

Slowing Things Down

After the ask response I posted a few days ago and the queue running out yet again, I have decided to slow down the queue.

For the majority of this blog's lifetime (it turns 9 this August), there have been 24 posts a day, about once each hour.

However, I think it would be wise to bump it down to 12 a day.

This will give me more time to gather posts for the queue, as well as take breaks.

i've been busy planning my wedding

So according to IMDB Summer Howell has officially been cast as Carrie White in the upcoming miniseries adaptation!

I know I've seen some people disappointed in the decision (they have nothing against Summer as far as I've seen, I think they just consider her too conventionally attractive) but I'm so excited to see her performance and hopefully get more recognition because she definitely deserves it!

(Also it means we could finally get some more material for Chucky AUs! Yay!)

Oh god I've been so exhausted by this day, but we had orchestra tickets so I was gonna suck it up and go, but when I looked at the tickets just now they were for 11am this morning (instead of 7pm tonight), and it's like the universe itself said, "hey I know it's been shitty lately and you're exhausted, this one's on me girl. You can go to bed at 8pm tonight."

Hey all! The poll closed, and here are the results:

Fourteen people said they'd use the discord, which is enough to create one. We'll try to get the discord up and running when nominations open - we already have plans. We also will keep this tumblr updated and open for questions - along with the dreamwidth, which allows for anon (no account) comments.

The beta one is fun:

Eight people indicated that they'd use the beta list if it's posted on discord only, seven of which are authors, five of which are betas (some people are both authors and betas)

Five people indicated that they'd use the beta list and want it to be posted on tumblr, two of which are authors, four of which are betas.

Five people (five authors and four betas) had no preference.

I think what I'll end up doing is posting the google form for betas on tumblr and discord, but have the results available on discord on demand, then people and request the beta list on tumblr or dreamwidth by ask or request. The reasoning is that we are technically posting people's contact information on the internet (even if it's 'send an ask to this tumblr'), so I want to be mindful of that and limit access a little.

Nobody posted against the prompts idea! The other options were pretty close between signups only, signups and writing period, and throughout the fest - with throughout the fest slightly ekeing it out. We're going to go with the posting the prompts throughout the fest.
