I'm getting so pissed with people who are saying Gwen isnt trans. Like they're trying to explain why her dad has a trans patch on his jacket and why she has a trans flag in her room, by saying she supports trans people... wtf???? Literally what ally has a TRANS FLAG, IN THEIR ROOM, BECAUSE THEY SUPPORT TRANS PEOPLE??? That's some shit closeted me would tell my parents when they saw me drawing rainbows. People that are saying this shit are literally just transphobic and dont want her to be trans. Gwen is trans and fuck everyone that argues against that.

I think it’s a shame that we don’t have more animals that are pink. imagine what a beautiful world we would live in of you could reliably see at least one pink animal every day. sigh.

Today, Jenan and her family got a new tent.

In the video, the family puts the tent together and moves their belongings into the new space. There are logos for German Humanitarian Assistance and Norwegian Refugee Council on the outside of the tent. Jenan and her family are refugees in Rafah. Before the war, Jenan was a college student in Gaza City.

MARCH 2ND TOTAL SHUTDOWN FOR GAZA
March second is a day dedicated to a TOTAL SHUTDOWN for Gaza to reject the invasion of Rafah and to put an end to the Palestinian genocide. Prepare yourself for this date. Find a protest near you. Call your reps and yell at them. Be aggressive. You can find protest near you with the site shutitdown4palestine.org . SPREAD THE WORD. A total shut down means TOTAL shut down, don’t post anything unrelated to Palestine, call in sick to work or school (if you can), go to a protest. Buy groceries and necessities beforehand and DONT SHOP ANYWHERE ON MARCH 2ND.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE.

TW for homophobia and murder.
I'm mostly typing this up because I'm disappointingly surprised there's little to nothing about this tragic loss on here. I'm not the greatest at typing stuff like this out, but nobody else seems to be doing it, so I'm going to instead. Some details are fuzzy because the timeline and exact details are still being worked out in ongoing investigation. If I got anything wrong, please correct me.
At 9:50am on the 19th of February, Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies were shot and murdered in their home by a policeman Senior Constable, Beau Lamarre-Condon. Assistant Commissioner Michael Fitzgerald is saying they believe the murder of Jesse was premeditated, but that Luke was killed alongside him because of happenstance, being at the home at the same time Lamarre-Condon planned to kill Jesse. Lamarre-Condon allegedly bought a surfboard bag two days prior to the murders, having to go back to the store for a second bag after killing them and hiding their bodies in a blue tarp in the backyard. Police believe Lamarre-Condon's initial plan was to carry Jesse's body in the surfboard bag, but after also shooting Luke, hired a van to transport them to the bush in Bungonia. At some point during this process, he also sent messages to Jesse's friends using his phone, saying he was 'moving to Western Australia'. In the weeks leading up to the double homicide, Beau Lamarre-Condon displayed increasingly worrying behaviours, allegedly stalking Jesse, putting water in his engine, keying his car, and breaking into his house. Following the days of the murder he tried to cover his tracks, enlisting the help of at least two acquaintances. He ultimately turned himself in because of extreme suspicion and scrutiny after four days, being arrested, and four more days later, finally cooperates with police investigators and tells them where he hid the bodies after speaking to a new lawyer. The bodies were found a few days ago, but the investigatory search continues to secure hard DNA evidence to prosecute Lamarre-Condon and to solidify the timeline.
Beau Lamarre-Condon has previously been in court for using unnecessary violence with his taser, however, all records were cleared by police. He faces court for the murders in the coming July.
This double homicide comes at the end of Australia's pride celebration, which we hold in February (along with June internationally), with NSW police still being granted access to attend the Sydney Mardi Gras out of uniform after earlier being uninvited. As of right now, the AFP decided to not join in the march, where they planned to walk alongside the NSWP.
Sydney and Australian queers as a whole are grieving the loss of two bright, young, talented men, but I've barely seen any news other than from AU about this. I hope the wider world can remember these bright young men too. Jesse Baird was a TV reporter and presenter. Luke Davies was a flight attendant. Jesse was 26. Luke was 29. They were both regarded as kind, talented, and full of life by friends and family. I hope they can finally rest in peace and their friends and family can grieve peacefully. They are gone far too soon.

Please be aware that the "opt-out" choice is just a way to try to appease people. But Tumblr has not been transparent about when has data been sold and shared with AI companies, and there are sources that confirm that data has already been shared before the toggle was even provided to users.
Also, it seems to include data they should not have been able to give under any circumstance, including that of deactivated blogs, private messages and conversations, stuff from private blogs, and so on.
Do not believe that "AI companies will honor the "opt-out request retroactively". Once they've got their hands on your data (and they have), they won't be "honoring" an opt-out option retroactively. There is no way to confirm or deny what data do they have: The fact they are completely opaque on what do they currently "own" and have, means that they can do whatever they want with it. How can you prove they have your data if they don't give everyone free access to see what they've stolen already?
So, yeah, opt out of data sharing, but be aware that this isn't stopping anyone from taking your data. They already have been taking it, before you were given that option. Go and go to Tumblr's Suppport and leave your Feedback on this (politely, but firmly- not everyone in the company is responsible for this.)
Finally: Opt out is not good under any circumstance. Deactivated people can't opt out. People who have lost their passwords can't opt out. People who can't access internet or computers can't opt out. People who had their content reposted can't opt out. Dead people can't opt out. When DeviantArt released their AI image generator, saying that it wasn't trained on people who didn't consent to it, it was proven it could easily replicate the styles of people who had passed away, as seen here. So, yeah. AI companies cannot be trusted to have any sort of respect for people's data and content, because this entire thing is just a data laundering scheme.
Please do reblog for awareness.
