okay, so im listening to d4vd’s new album withered for the billionth time now. i gotta say, if no one makes a ghostflower edit to “what are you waiting for” ….i will.

You know I feel like people forget how pumped Gwen is to go get her man at the end of Across. Like, there’s actually seemingly a lot of confidence involved.

The way she beats Reilly effortlessly and casually breaks his watch, the bravery in confronting Miles’ parents and owning up to her hurting him(“It’s not your fault. It’s mine.” / “I didn’t want to hurt him. But I did.”), the confident reassurance to his parents(“You got it.”), gathering a band of all her closest spiders to go rescue him, the confident smile at the camera(“You in?”).

Like, girl reconciled with her dad, found out he doesn’t have to die and canon is seemingly utter bullshit, and Hobie left her a watch already pre-programmed to Earth-1610(“I’ll be back soon. I promise.”)

She is ready to beat up some chumps and put herself right between any danger and Miles. This is why I feel a strong sense that Gwen could possibly have a fake-out death or actually briefly die and be brought back. (The latter would be extra funny for defying canon.)

The ball is obviously going to be in Miles’ court, it’s up to him to decide if he wants to forgive her(and whatever he chooses will be fair from his perspective), but god you can’t say Gwen isn’t going to give it her all to prove herself to him and show she’s WITH him now, til the end.

Gwen is moisturized, energized, and ready to throw hands. Love that for her!

(P.S. I think some really intense stuff(and a Talk) will happen to bring her and Miles back together. And I think their relationship/connection will be stronger than ever after it’s all said and done.)

i totally didn’t expect it in hobies dimension either!!! and tbh, i wasn’t exactly sure what to expect during their reunion, but i wondered whether they were going to be given another type of “clocktower scene” or if they were going to have to partially hash it out mid-action scene. i think i prefer them sectioning out time for them to just work it out alone. but im not gonna lie, i think i would’ve enjoyed miles being petty towards gwen mid-battle. maybe we’ll get both, considering i doubt they have time to immediately talk it out considering miles’ current situation (stuck in e-42).

I didn’t think they’d go this route with their reunion/ talk, but I’m quite pleased about it. Most people assumed it would be on E-42 or E-1610 so it being in hobies dimension is super interesting

I guess it is possible miles and the spider gang meet on E-42 and they travel to hobies dimension to rest up. Gwen probably takes that time to actually talk to miles
