Pacquiao vs Bradley
Well i just watched the fight yesterday, which was a bit after the fight actually happened, as it was on at 2am over here. Unfortunately i saw the result of the fight by accident before i even got to watch it, so that sucked. But even though i knew the result, i was thinking all the way through the fight how on earth has he won this one. There was no way whatsoever that Bradley won that fight, the guy was completely beaten and you would struggle to give Bradley 2 or 3 rounds, let alone the 9 or so that two of the judges gave him, or the amount the 3rd judge gave, because he "judged" it a lot closer than it really was.
I don't want to bash on Bradley because it wasn't his fault he won and he looked as confused as everybody else when the words new champion came out. He gave everything he could and credit to him, he managed to go the 12 rounds and didn't get knocked down, even though he was very wobbly at one or two points. I liked his kind of angry defensive that he had going for him, whenever he was hurt he would throw a flurry of punches and try to fight his way out of trouble, where other people would back away(which is usually more sensible).
Pacquiao has definitely been robbed in this fight, and its hard not to go along with the crowd when they are shouting fix in regards to this fight. It has put another taint on boxing, and at the moment the sport could really do without any controversies like that. This fan base for boxing seems to be dwindling rapidly and these sorts of controversial decisions aren't helping, as its becoming more of a laughing stock and who knows if a champion is worth his grain, when it seems to be other people are choosing who should hold the belts (similar to wrestling really).
Changes need to be made to the sport and the scoring system before it becomes a sport of the past and UFC completely takes over. The way fights are organised and advertised needs be changed to a more deserving system. So that we are seeing the best fighters battling against each other, rather than handpicked punching bags. Fighters should also not be able to duck fighters if they have proven themselves, or their belts are vacated if they do. This should make the best fights happen, rather than us missing out on the greatest fight of that generation because one of them is scared. Although in the case of the Klitschko's this wouldn't be ideal as they promised that they would never fight each other. Although i bet one would vacate their belts to their brother if that was the case. Lastly the scoring system needs to change, so as to stop stupid decisions. I don't know how it could be changed, other than to let them fight until one gives up, but there must be other ways. I don't agree with the compubox way though, as it is too erroneous.
Anyway lastly Pacquiao probably brought about his own downfall in this match by letting it go to the judges decision. Early on in the fight (i think round 5) Bradley didn't have a clue where he was and was just about managing to stay on his feet, but the bell eventually went and they went to their corners. When Pacquiao came out he just took it easy and rested rather than applying the pressure and getting the knockout. He always talks about giving the fans a good show and wanting to please them, so i think he wanted to prolong the fight and give the people their moneys worth, but later on he was too tired to finish him off. So if there is a rematch i wouldn't be surprised if Pacquiao tries to get in and out as quickly as he can.
I don't know whether i think Pacquiao should retire now and upset the people who would make money on the rematch, or he should keep continuing for a bit longer and giving us some memorable fights before the next guy comes along. I can't see the Mayweather fight ever happening, as now Mayweather has another excuse to hide behind by saying Pacquiao has lost again. But i'll still keep my fingers crossed that it will one day happen.

Euro 2012
Well the summer of sport has started, which i have been looking forward to for months now. Well the start of it really was with the French Open but i haven't seen much of it, so i'll say the start is the Euros. Looking forward to watching lots of football over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully it will be football of a good kind and not many teams just playing defensive football, being too scared to attack incase they let a goal in (like at the World Cup).
Well the first match between Poland and Greece wasn't great football, although there were a few points. The first sending off for the Greek player should have never happened, and szczesny proved to me yet again that he's rather overrated. I mainly watched it because i wanted to see Lewandowski closely as Manchester United are after him. He looked like a good player, and might would definitely bring something to the team. I didn't really see him run much, so i'm unsure about his speed, which is quite important at the moment as its probably the reason Berbatov didn't get played this season.
Well the Russia and Czech Republic game looks a lot better. Russia should easily get through their group without much trouble, and i wouldn't be surprised if Greece or Poland also managed to get out of the group stages, as the Czechs aren't looking very good at all. The midfield gives the ball away too easily and doesn't get back quick enough to help their defence. I'd say Russia and Poland will probably go through this group, as i can't see Greece keeping their second half momentum up.
As well as the Euros there is boxing, tennis and the olympics to look forward too, so i'm going to be busy with that this summer. Wimbledon should be good and Pacquiao fights tomorrow night against Bradley, which will hopefully be a good fight.

Exam Time!
Well that is the first of my exams done. The systems analysis and database design turned out to be harder than i thought it would be. Considering i found the last couple of years papers relatively easy, i thought i wouldn't find this one too difficult, but it turned out part of it was pretty tough.
The multiple choice questions seemed to be the hardest part. Maybe it was because they were negatively marked and if i chose the wrong one then there would be consequences to it, which made me think they were harder. But anyway i found the questions where i had to write my answers out a lot easier, although i kept writing too much as filler, rather than getting straight to my point.
Well i think i should pass that exam anyway. Not sure what mark i will get really because of the multiple choice, but hoping for a pretty decent one. The next exam is the worst one of the bunch so i'm not looking forward to it.

Organising Myself
Well i don't know if i am trying to make it easier for myself so that i know when i need to do stuff, or i am just trying to waste some time so i don't need to revise. But i have been organising myself with the google calender and sorting out an app on my phone.
Well i am hoping that it is going to give me proper notifications on my phone when i have stuff to do, because im always forgetting things. So fingers crossed. The problem is that i'll probably do it for a week or two and thing create i'll never miss anything again, and then well i probably will get bored and forget to do it.
That's the only problem with doing calenders and year planners, that they are too time consuming and pretty boring. And well they are basically only good for wasting time, which yeaaaah i am doing.

Weekend of Revision
Well the weekend has been utterly boring i have just spent it doing revision for tests that i have next month. Oh well, hopefully i'll be prepared for them and this weekend will have paid off. Ive nearly finished revising the systems analysis work, i am just going through the last slide now. I think the last few days ive looked through over 250+ lecture slides and god knows how many web pages.
Well im going to get this last little bit finished and then move on to databases and try and race through that, so i have got enough notes. Then i'll try and get the computer hardware revision out of the way. Althought i expect after this week i'll be getting distracted, because my girlfriend will finally be back from her holidays.
On other news, i am loving the fact that City are now 8 points behind United and are looking to have give up on the chase. The Ashley Young dive was despicable and i doubt he's going to have made many fans because of that. I know United fans don't usually like people that resort to cheating to win. We like to do it as fair as possible, even though the rest of the teams don't see it that way. There's also good news in Spain as Real Madrid have had another slip up and drew with Valencia, leaving Barcelona to only be 4 points behind. It just needs one more slip up and Barca will have a good chance of winning the league. Madrid were lucky in a sense today because they could have lost it. The next El Clasico looks like its going to be a good match that's for sure.

Revision
Well it is four days later than i intended but i have finally started doing my revision for my tests coming up in May. Im trying to plough through it at the moment and get a lot wrote down, so i can just keep reading over it when i have some free time.
I need to get this systems analysis revision sorted and then i can move on to the computers and networks. I have another exam in programming, but i feel fairly confident on that and think i can just concentrate on the other two, and then read up on the programming when the others are done. I think i only really need to learn the keywords anyway for that.
Other than that there hasn't been a lot going on. This week has been pretty dull as nobody has been about because University is out for two weeks. My halls have been absolutely empty, like no sound coming from anywhere.
Well i was just writing this to distract me from my revision, so i best get back to it.

Today's Goals
Well today is a boring Sunday(my least favourite day), so i am just going to be doing work really. I want to get my collision detection and resolution better on my games assignment and i also want to do work on one of the database worksheets, which i am hoping to finish.
The worksheet is looking unlikely, because i started my assignment again so that i could make it neater. The first one was me basically just putting all the pieces in to it and making sure they work, and now i am trying to make it look better basically.
Although it is a boring Sunday, there was nothing boring about that Newcastle vs Liverpool match. I almost didn't watch it, thinking not a lot would happen. How wrong i was. So much laughable action and a deserved win from Newcastle. Andy Carroll got booed by the Newcastle fans, which i would have felt a little sorry for him if it wasn't for that awful dive/trip very early on in the game.

Games Programming Assignment
Well i have been pretty much working on my last games assignment for the year all week. I'm pretty far into it now, with most of the stuff done that is need for a 2:1. I just need to make my collision detection and resolution better and add some classes into it so i can add a second racer. The collision detection is getting on my nerves though, and will probably frustrate me for a few days.
As soon as this is done i can start on my revision and also doing my assignment for practitioners.

Been Awhile
Yeeeeah so its been awhile since i've posted on here. I will try and do it more frequently but right now i have way too much work to concentrate on. We have just broke up for 2 weeks for Easter, but the thing i'll be doing is work. Got several assignments to be handed in when we get back and exams coming up at the beginning of May that need revising for.
Speaking of Easter i am well impressed with myself at the moment. I gave up eating pizzas for lent, which is no easy task for me because i eat them a lot. But i've managed to stick to it upto now. I would have thought i'd be able to survive another two weeks without one also. So go me, basically.
I've missed the gym a few times this week due to the suns arrival, but i shall make up for it by going all next week.

Maths Test
Sweet i passed my maths test with 80% and i am kind of annoyed at myself because i probably could have got 95%. I just made silly little errors, which was annoying. But still i got a high mark and there is still room to improve. Now that's a few things down that i had to do. I am going to comment my code later and then hand in the programming assignment and that will be one more down.

Not enough hours in the day
Little bit overworked at the moment with uni. I am trying to keep on top of everything, well in a sort of way i am. I am just really focusing all my attention on one thing at a time and getting it out of the way. It is working okay at the moment, but i've got an assignment that will take quite a bit of time, which needs my complete focus but its got to be shared by other modules.
Well my current list of things that i need to do is:
Finish programming assignment.
Study for maths test.
Finish the games development worksheets.
Start games programming assignment.
Learn about GUI with C# and do my practitioners assignment with it.
Learn about oracle.
Finish the database worksheets.
Things that i want to do are:
Finish the Inheritance book.
Finish reading the first and second book of game of thrones, before the end of the second series.
Go to the gym.
Watch the football.
Finish Dead Island.
The second list sounds way more appealing to me. The first list to be fair will be at least 2 bullet points down my Tuesday, but still there is a lot of learning in it. Well creating these lists has distracted me enough, i best get back to revising for that maths test.

Programming Assignment
Well i am a little bit gutted that i have been creating my programming assignment, which is a profanity checker and well i spent like just under 3 hours trying to solve a problem which was easy. I ended up iterating through a for loop with the wrong variable. The only reason i missed such a simple error was because i was trying to use new techniques and i thought i must have gone wrong somewhere with them. Oh well, at least i have figured it out and now it's time to move on to the next part of it.

Mass Effect 3
Well Mass Effect 3 has come out and we finally get to conclude the trilogy that has been going on for the last 5 years. Bioware tend to do games with epic storytelling and this one is no different. The main story has tons of dialogue which allows you to invest in the characters and get to know them. Like the other games it seems that after every main mission in the story the characters aboard your ship seem to have something new to say, which in total is an awful lot of stories. Not only that but it also seems that every time you visit a place such a the citadel, as you are walking about people will be having their own conversations and every visit the story between them will have progressed a little. I often find i am just running around trying to catch up on them, such as the guy in the med bay who has to have his leg amputated.
I should really save my verdict on the game for when i have finished it, but my feelings towards it up to now is that it isn't quite as good as the second one. I am a bit of the way into it, just going round the galaxy rounding people up as usual, but it just doesn't feel like has the same wow effect that the 2nd game had. I'll no doubt be proven wrong by the end of the game. I was a little disappointed with the beginning of the game, i felt it was a good start but they could have done so much more, like people scrambling to flee and trying to help people evacuate, but it was mostly just go from point a and get to point b.
There seem to be a heck of a lot of cameos for the characters from the previous games. I am not sure but i'm guessing that the characters you meet is probably dependent on who survived other games. This game is based on the previous versions and that's one of the reasons that makes it so good. You have your own personal version of the game, which all depends on how you played the other games. That is if you imported your characters of course.
One of the down points for me was that i expected the graphics to be a bit better. They are at the same level as the last game, but i just expected it to be a little bit better, that is probably my high expectations for this game though that is bringing it down. The sound is a problem also, at times it is just too quiet and some times it just doesn't seem quite in sync.
Overall though the game is brilliant, its pretty addictive because you want to see what happens. I expect it will still be addictive to play even when i have finished it the first time. With this game now ending the trilogy and the gears of war game ending it, and many others ending there series, it does have the feeling that this console generation is coming to an end.

Weekend Sports
Well it is rather late but i figured id say about my input on the sport at the lately.
Boxing: Klitschko vs Mormeck Ill start with boxing. Specifically the Wladamir Klitschko vs Mormeck fight. It wasn't much of a fight to be honest, Klitschko just looked far superior in every aspect. Which is a shame really because i was looking forward to a decent match. The commentators were frustrating me though when it came to them saying Klitschko was constantly pushing his opponents head down. Which granted he did do a few times, but a lot of the time it was due to Mormeck leaning in with his head and practically bending over before he got anywhere near him.
Overall it was good to see Klitschko win, but Mormeck barely threw a punch. Its a shame the way the heavyweight division is at the moment, because there just isn't anybody out there who seems to be able to compete at the Klitschkos level. People say its boring for the sport that they are always winning, but its not like they are ducking the hard fights. They are fighting the people that get put in front of them, its just the people they do fight aren't anywhere near as good.
David Price might be one to watch, but as he said he's not thinking about it for atleast 18 months. That is fair enough, because he does need to get some more fights under his belt and some better opponents. But the only problem is that the Klitschko's aren't exactly young and they may retire before he is ready, because as we saw with the last Vitali fight he seems to be slowing down and age might be starting to show. It is a fight to look forward to if it happens anyway. The other British prospect for a fight against them is Tyson Fury, but i really could not see him lasting long against them.
Tennis: Murray vs Federer It was a shame this match really. Murray did really well to beat Djokovic and all the hard work inevitably came to nothing, because he stumbled at the last hurdle. In fairness Federer is looking very sharp at the minute and looks as though he might grab himself a grand slam this year. I could see all of the top 3 grabbing one to be honest, although i would like to see Murray get one, he was unfortunate in Wimbledon last year, as he did have Nadal on the back foot for awhile, but he just can't seem to keep control when he is in front. That happened in his match against Federer also, he did manage to get a good run going and broke Federers serve, but he just can't keep control of it when he does get in front.
Well i think that is enough as it has already gone on for ages. It is a bit late but i don't think it really matters. I'll no doubt comment on the mid week football tomorrow.

24 Season 8
I've just started watching the final season of 24 again, basically to distract me from any work i've had to do (i suppose that is what i am also doing by writing this post, oh well). But i had forgot how awesome the final season actually was. I mean it doesn't live up to some of the other seasons really, but it does have its moments. One of those moments is when Jack is stabbed by Renee and after a sudden moment of shock he rips the knife out and throws it into a bad guys neck. Now if that isn't epic i don't know what is. It makes me laugh how he is absolutely unaffected by being stabbed though, once he has killed a few guys. That's rather hardcore.
Something that strikes me as odd relating to this show is the fact that Freddie Prinze Jr did a brilliant job in this show, and yet since doing it he hasn't been in much. Or according to IMDB he has been in 3 things in since. Now it might be just me, but i thought that his acting was great in this and its a shame he was only in it for the final season as it would have been good if he was in others. Maybe he will be in the movie, whenever that actually gets done.
Well i am going to finish watching this season and then probably watch my favourite one, which is season 3. Or maybe i'll just start from the beginning as it gets addictive when you start watching them.

Metal Gear Solid HD
Well i've just started Metal Gear Solid HD and it is as good as i remember it. It takes me back to a time when i used to just run through these games constantly. Funny enough though i can barely remember what to do and where to go, so its like playing a new game in a sense.
It is a shame that they don't have the original Playstation game on it though. But like it has been said it probably wouldn't look good in HD, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be fun to play.
One thing that has got to be said about the Metal Gear Solid games is that they do have some of the best bosses in the game. The main example being Vamp, he is cool and you kind of don't want to beat him because of it.
Wow though i had completely forgot how long the cut scenes can be. It takes like an hour before you can even start Snake Eater properly. But at least it tells a good story by doing so. Although i must say the ones in number 4 on the Playstations are a bit excessive and go on way too long.

Going Fitness Crazy
This week i've been going fitness crazy and hitting the gym every spare minute i have. Well not every spare minute, but i've been four times for about 2+ hours each time and going tomorrow to do a load of cardio.
I have to say its been killing my body though, i woke up yesterday after working on back and doing some running the day before, and i felt like i had been on the losing side of a fight. My body really didn't appreciate the fact that i was getting out of bed to go to University and then the gym again later on.
Oh well it'll be worth it. I have been doing some Hiit after doing a workout and i've been wondering what is better. Whether doing speed training will build stamina and burn more calories or whether doing interval will? Does anybody know? From what i've seen over this week, i'd say speed training seems to be the one i get the most from.
