Kari on Hiatus

So guys I am so sorry I need to do this, but I have been getting in over my head lately and have taken on way too much. It has been starting to affect me mentally so I have had to pick a few things that had to give. Sadly the Buddy blog is one of them.

There are no ill will between me, Rach and Erin. They have both been very supportive in my decision to take a hiatus from this blog. I will still be writing. I will still be found at my person blog, but as for now I am stepping down from this one. Y’all are left in very good hands with my two girls.

Once again I am sorry and I hope you will forgive me for not being around here for a while.

Buddy Challenge: Mix and Match

Hey guys the new buddy challenge is here. It is not something you need to feel obligated to do, but it is a team building exercise we offer to all of you.

Here are the rules

Who?

You have to be in a buddy group to join. You work with your two buddies creating a 3 part story. You can write all the parts together or one part each and beta for each other.

If one of your members don’t wanna join that is fine - the other two can do it. If two bows out the third sadly can’t join in. You need at least one of your buddies to to this. 

How?

Pick a prompts from each category. You can write any pairing you want. For every part at least one of the three prompts you picked has to play an important part in the story. You don’t have to send us an ask to join. You don’t even have to tell us what you picked. 

You chose the pairing. All is allowed. Only rule is you gotta agree. 

When?

You can start writing whenever you want. If you want us to reblog your story to the blog you have to submit it to us via link. We take the last submissions on September 3rd 9pm EST.

Writer’s Advice - Week 19

First of all I am so sorry this is a day or so late. I was supposed to post it Friday but I and other writer’s had our fics stolen onto wattpad and I was so upset I forgot. Sorry for dropping the ball.

Anon: ** I’m writting my first series, and I keep having to go to read what I wrote because I forgot.How do I stop forgetting?

 Erin: Hey sweetheart. I totally understand how frustrating that can be. I’ve had to do it a few times myself. One trick I’ve started to help me remember small details is keeping a list of named characters and places. It doesn’t matter how small it is, if I give it a name, it goes on the list. So when I need to reference it again, I can just go to my list instead of trying to find it in the story.

 Kari: Honestly my best advice is do an outline. Keep it and add the details you might remember too it, but I don’t know. My brain is just a maze of weird details that stick. I still remember everything from series that are a year old. Sorry I am no help on this. (this was honestly Rach reply when I told her I couldn’t answer this: “shut up not all of us have freaky memories and can tell episodes from a single screenshot.” - Whoops did do that once :P

 Rach: I keep notes, especially sticky notes. More often than not my desk is covered with plot notes all scribbled out which helps me keep track of all the little details and different plot points and that I can also move plots around if necessary. Find a system that works for you and stick with it.

Also Kari is a dork.
