Family Guide

This was an idea I originally had back in 2021, after thinking about a certain family I had not yet explored; step-siblings. Having a diversity in family situations was always something important to me and that I liked working with for this universe, as it is a small way to connect to real-life with people having different family situations and possibly something people can relate to. Since I've added a couple more characters after the initial draft(some of which still need to be officially introduced, such as Delaney and Terrance), and changed a few of their family situations, I feel like I have a pretty good diversity.

This guide doesn't really delve into the actual family dynamics, but more so family structures. Basic information includes the siblings and how close they are in age, and the marital status of the parents. Some may have more information than others, depending on how complicated their family situation gets.

I kept this guide pretty simple like stated earlier, but if you would like to learn more about any particular family(or one of the new characters), feel free to send an ask about them and I can talk more about them! :3 For now, I hope you enjoy! ^w^

- Jennifer and Tyler Adams

Jenny and Tyler are eight years apart in age. Their parents are married. Through their paternal aunt, they are cousins to Caleb Thompson.

- Delaney Alder

Delaney is the only child born to her mother and father. Her mother died from cancer when she was only eight years old. She lived with her single father for many years, until his recent marriage to Eve Williams' mother. She has had very few long-lasting or meaningful interactions with her new step-sister, still being wary to approach her even as they are living in the same house now.

- Matthew and Madeline Becker

Matt and Maddie are seven years apart in age. Their parents are married. Through their maternal aunt, they are cousins to Ashley, Suzie, and Sophie Evans.

- Shadow Blackson

Shadow is the only child in her family. Her parents are married. She has one paternal uncle, who gave her three younger cousins. She has one maternal uncle who gave her two older cousins, and one maternal aunt who gave her one older cousin and two younger cousins.

- Ashley, Suzanne, and Sophia Evans

Ashley is four years older than Suzie, and 12 years older than Sophie. Their parents are married. Through their maternal aunt, they are cousins to Matt and Maddie Becker.

- Blaise and Isabella Garcia

Blaise and Izzy are twins and the oldest in their family, though are unaware of who is actually older as their parents never told them. They have two younger brothers, one who is five years younger than them, and one who is thirteen years younger than them. Their parents are married.

- Alana Greystone

Alana is the only child in her family. She grew up with her single father. Her mother was a goddess, who left her in the care of her father not long after her birth. She has had some contact with her mother, though it has been very limited throughout her life, so she has no real relationship with her.

- Jaylin Hart

Jay is the oldest child in their family. Their parents are in a polyamorous relationship, consisting of one mother and two fathers, no pair officially married but instead are long-term partners that are all equally in love. They also have two younger siblings, a sister who is four years younger(born from their mother and second father), and a brother who is seven years younger(born from their father and second father). Jay's biological father is a demon, making them and their brother half-demon.

- Ryan and Leah Hauser

Ryan and Leah are fifteen years apart in age. Their parents are married.

- Danielle Iglesias

Dani comes from a big family, having six siblings. She has a brother six years older, a sister three years older, a sister one year younger, a brother three years younger, a brother five years younger, and a sister seven years younger. Her parents are married.

- William Liu

William is the only child in his family. He grew up with his single adoptive mother. He never knew his birth parents, only knowing that one was a human and one was a vampire.

- Jessica Maricotte

Jessica is the only child in her family. She grew up most of her life with her mother and step-father. She never knew her birth father, only knowing that he was an angel.

- Kayla Miller

Kayla is the only child in her family. She has two fathers, who are married.

- Clara Mondel

Clara is the only child in her family. Her family situation has always been a bit complicated. She lived the first few years of her life with her parents in their natural realm, who sent her to the mortal realm when she became of school age to gain experience living like a mortal. She was in the foster care system for several years, as no foster parents ever wanted to adopt her due to the unpredictability of her angel powers. She finally got adopted by one couple when she was thirteen years old. She had the chance to reunite with her birth parents once she turned eighteen, but came to enjoy her time in the mortal realm and has chosen to stay until she will be called back later in life to fulfill her angel duties.

- Callum Morrison

Callum is the only child in his family. He grew up with his single mother. His father was a god, who wanted very little to do with him after finding out about his birth. He has met his father a few times when he was younger, but has no real relationship with him.

- Terrance Muse

Terrance is the oldest child in his family, having a brother three years younger than him. His parents are married.

- Rena Naegi

Rena is the only child in her family. Her parents are married.

- Oakley and Autumn Palmer

Oakley and Autumn are four years apart in age. Their parents are married. Their parents had a difficult time trying to conceive a child naturally, so they eventually opted for adoption to start the family they always wanted. Both Oakley and Autumn were adopted separately, and have no biological ties to either their parents or each other.

- Calliope and Orpheus Romano

Calliope and Orpheus are two years apart in age. Their parents are married.

- Daniel Sato

Daniel is the only child in his family. He lives with his single father. His mother is a succubus demon, who left him in the care of his father not long after his birth. As she wanted nothing to do with him, Daniel has never met his mother before.

- Mai and Liam Small

Mai and Liam are four years apart in age. Their parents, Theodore and Eleanor, are married.

- Kyle Stewart

Kyle is the only child born to his mother and father. His parents recently divorced a few months prior during winter, after drifting apart romantically during the past couple of years. His parents are still in the process of finding new homes, with Kyle choosing to stay with his mother as he was always closer with her. Andrew Winston is his older half-brother by eight years from their mother, Sharon's, first marriage.

- Caleb Thompson

Caleb is the only child in their family. They have two mothers, who are married. Through his maternal uncle, he has two cousins, Jenny and Tyler Adams.

- Serena Walters

Serena is the middle child in her family, having a sister older than her by six years, and twin brothers younger than her by four years. Her parents are married.

- Evangeline Williams

Eve is the only child born to her mother and father. Her parents divorced when she was eleven years old, after her father's affair was revealed. After the divorce, she lived with her mother, moving across state. She has had very little contact with her father, hurt from his affair and preferring not to speak to or see him anymore. Her father remarried his new lady, with her gaining one step-sibling and two half-siblings from the marriage. She knows of these siblings, but has never met them. During the past year her mother finally remarried, to Delaney Alder's father. She has had very few long-lasting or meaningful interactions with her new step-sister, unsure of how to interact with her even as they are living in the same house now.

- Andrew Winston

Andrew is the only child born to his mother and father. His parents divorced when he was only four years old, as they had too many differences to make a long-term relationship work. After the divorce, he lived primarily with his father. Kyle Stewart is his younger half-brother by eight years from their mother, Sharon's, second marriage. His father eventually remarried during his teenage years, though he has no step-siblings or half-siblings from his step-mother.

Finally... FINALLY THIS STORY IS FINISHED!!! 😭😭😭 I did not mean to take so long finishing this next chapter, but it has eluded me for the longest 🥲 I first started the document for this chapter little over a year ago, which was already over a year since the last chapter(chapter 4) was posted. I had just been so stuck on how I wanted it to go, as I had a few vague ideas for things that I wanted to happen, but had no idea how to connect them. Sometime in the late fall I decided to re-read and write down notes for all the previous chapters, to jog my memory of what has already happened and see what ideas could form from there. It actually helped me quite a lot, as once I got to this chapter I finally had more ideas to connect everything together!

This chapter is very long at 9.1k words, which is another reason why this chapter took so long to write. My reasoning for this chapter being so long is that I simply just wanted to be done with this story already, so I put all of my finish-up ideas into it and expected it to get pretty long to wrap everything up. I didn't truly expect for it to get this long, but there is 3-ish scenes in it, that I wanted to build up. Some of the conversational points might be repetitive, but at this point, I am just too tired and exhausted to care too much as I just wanted this story done lol. I will say though, that I am pretty surprised and a little bit proud of myself for writing so much, as this is the most amount words I have ever written before(for a chapter of a longer story, or short story/one-shot in general)! I'll see how my other story ideas go, but hopefully I can keep this type of momentum up to write more fleshed out and detailed stories in the future~ :3

After almost exactly 4 years since the first chapter was posted, the Fantasy AU story is now complete~! :D Huge thank you again to @littlechaoticwitch, for creating this little AU idea for me so many years ago, which I absolutely adored and went off(maybe a little insane too) with my inspiration and love for it~! <3 I hope you guys have enjoyed the whole story up to this point, and that you enjoy reading this chapter! ^w^

I finally got around to posting the fourth chapter of my @spooksverse-asks Fantasy AU story to my ao3! Did not mean to take so long in uploading it lol. This chapter was originally posted in July of 2022. Finally, an appearance from Queen Eleanor!

As this is the last of the chapters I had already written, that means the next chapter will actually be new writing(well, more-or-less as I've been working on it for a while lol)! This chapter is the one where the boys finally confess, which means they will be an official couple in the next chapter!

I didn't get a chance to share this the other day, but I posted the third chapter of my @spooksverse-asks Fantasy AU story to my ao3! This chapter was originally written back in September of 2021. Finally, Mai appears, and there is only one more old chapter to edit and upload!

Looking back on the original description for this chapter on my DeviantArt, I remembered I intended for it to be pretty angsty. And while re-reading it, I definitely got that angst feeling with the conversation between Liam and Kyle. This chapter is also the chapter I have done the most edits for! Sometime last year when I was in an angsty mood with my characters, I gave more consideration to my idea of Kyle's parents divorcing. This idea came up as I just couldn't picture his parents in moments together much in my head, and with their different busy schedules and lives, I don't see it as being too surprising for them. So, this edited chapter serves as a mini exploration for that! I will most likely touch on the subject in the main universe at some point, either as a short story or during the main story, as it would happen close enough to the beginning of it.

I posted the second chapter of my @spooksverse-asks Fantasy AU story to my ao3! This chapter was originally written back in July of 2021.

When re-reading this chapter to make slight edits, I forgot about some of the cute moments in it! Particularly, the scene in the library of the colors complimenting Kyle's colors(and Liam in denial about his feelings), and Kyle's inner excitement at the physical contact from his crush. It's been years like I previously mentioned since I first wrote and read these original chapters, so while I have remembered the major plot moments, little details like that I have forgotten about. I know some people may cringe or feel dissatisfied with their old writing, but reading those small moments again are one of my most favorite parts about looking over my old work again!

I finally got an ao3 account last weekend, and the first thing I thought to upload to it is the Fantasy AU story! As mentioned above, I am currently still writing the next/last part of the story, but I thought this would be nice to have all the chapters in one easy place now!

When the next part is finally finished, it will of course still be uploaded individually on my DA + here on Tumblr and ao3!

I've uploaded my first work to ao3 last night! Since I'm currently still trying to get the next/last part of the Fantasy AU story for Spooksverse done, I thought it would be fun to upload the story on there and have all chapters in one easy place! All of the already finished chapters are from 2021-2022, but I will be leaving them as they were originally written for the most part, with some minor edits here-and-there if it calls for it.

For anyone who doesn't remember or follow @spooksverse-asks, this story focuses on my OCs, Liam and Kyle, in a Fantasy AU setting! Liam is a prince who does not wish to rule, and Kyle is the knight he is training to take his place on the throne, though their training together gets more complicated as they start to grow feelings for each other. This AU was also made for me by the amazing @littlechaoticwitch so many years ago, which I have to thank again after all these years for creating such a lovely AU idea that I absolutely adore~ <3

Heyo everyone, sorry for the inactivity on this blog the past few months! Things have been pretty busy for me irl, but since I'm still currently on winter break right now, I've been trying to get back into my art/general creative groove! One of the art projects I want to try and get to right away for the beginning of 2025 is some redesigns, because I have a handful of ones that I didn't get around to in previous years. The 'third quartet' (Oakley, Serena, Blaise, and Izzy) will of course be up first, but another group I wanted to redesign was the junior trio!

I used this picrew that I usually do to figure out their new design concepts! For Daniel he will be getting be getting a slightly different haircut/hair texture, plus slightly pointed ears and slit pupils as a nod back to his half-demon heritage more. He will also get a slightly new outfit(mainly a jacket and accessories), and possibly a piercing(s) such as the eyebrow one in the image, though I'll have to think about it more first. Kayla's hair will become curlier + put up and away, she'll get simple earrings, and her new outfit is inspired by the one in her moodboard. Maddie gave me the most difficulties, but her hair will get a fluffier + longer, she will also get earrings, and her new outfit will have new shoes and a layered look. Not exactly like the one here, but I'm thinking of giving her a sweater she knitted or crocheted herself?

Those are my ideas so far! These aren't meant to be their exact new designs, but just something to generate ideas and have a good basis for before I eventually get around to drawing them. O hope you enjoy in the meantime!

I think it was definitely an interesting challenge! Suzie and Liam came out the best in my opinion, and Kyle gave me my biggest struggles DX There wasn't many options that fit him this time around, but I still tried my best! Shadow also came out pretty good too though!

Here is what I have for the "Dead Boy Detectives" AU I mentioned in one of my previous posts! :D Like mentioned on that post, for now I just took my four main characters(Suzie, Shadow, Liam, and Kyle) and tried to translate them into the roles of the four main characters from the show, with some similarities but obvious differences to not be total copies. I did have some struggles with these initially, but I think I got my ideas to a good place right now. If you would like to see more from this AU or learn more about, please let me know! . Suzie: Crystal stand in. Still has her medium-related abilities, but was a full part of the popular kids at her school. A people-pleaser who had a hard time stopping her "friends" from being bullies, but found it hard to break away from them as she kept getting pulled into their bullying antics. Aside from those "friends", she has also had a few boyfriends who were also not the best of influences or good for her mental health. She also didn't receive the best attention at home, as she is the middle child and her parents didn't always know how to help her compared to her sisters. Not wanting to be forgotten or pushed aside, she did what she could to stand out and have more people on her side, even if said people weren't all that good to be around. Experiences some sort of corruption event at the hands of an ex that allows for her to temporarily forget her family and meet the others. First met the boys after she wanted answers for what she felt was a supernatural cause to her memory loss, before they later all met Shadow and came together as a group.

. Shadow: Niko stand in. A witch who is also a loner as she found it difficult finding or making friends with similar interests as her, or who didn't immediately outcast her as "weird". As her mother died when she was young, she found it hard to let others into her life as she shut most people out as part of not confronting her feelings. Originally born with black hair, but during a spell she was working on that went wrong and she ended up getting possessed, her hair gained blonde streaks afterwards. She was attending a normal public school before her possession, where afterwards she dropped out, both from feeling lethargy and that there was no point in her learning stuff she already had a somewhat good grasp on. Out of the others she first met Suzie, feeling drawn to her before she met the boys. After hearing about their mini detective agency, she wanted to join to contribute her witchcraft and pre-existing supernatural knowledge on potential cases.

. Liam: Edwin stand in. Died from an electrocution accident. In life he was very quiet and reserved, kept to himself as he attended to his private school studies instead of making friends, which he was never good at. While he always tried to present himself as calm, mature, and put-together, he has a lot of internal feelings he either tries to hide or is oblivious to. Cordial with most people, though he does have a low-key sassy and bitter side that sometimes peeps through when dealing with people he doesn't particularly like. Had an interest in the growing technology of the world, partially thanks to his parents' business, and planned to learn all he could to be a knowledge resource for all. At the same time, he also wanted to learn more about the time manipulation abilities he seemingly had, not knowing where they came from or why he had them. One day when he was walking near a factory he abandoned his better judgement to check it out, experiencing a fatal shock that ended up taking his life. Was stuck in a limbo-like state for many years, before he found himself back on the mortal plane. Soon after his return he met Kyle, who quickly became his best friend as they talked and related life experiences with each other.

. Kyle: Charles stand in. Died in a car accident. While he always had a good relationship with his mother growing up, his relationship with his other family members in comparison wasn't the best. His father was always busy with work, so he rarely had time to be there or be supportive of him. His older half-brother, while not around a lot, always was a big source for his anxiety as he always felt like he was walking on eggshells around him with his dismissiveness and hostility. Through his other struggles in life, he tried to remain positive by enjoying the things he loves, such as retro or obscure media and fashion trends, theater, and golf. While these things did bring a more positive outlet to his life, between some family and peer troubles, he was too riddled with anxiety one night and ended up in a devastating car crash. Not long after he came back as a ghost, he met Liam, who quickly became his best friend as they talked and related life experiences with each other. Both wanting to do better by others than how they were treated in life, they started up a mini detective agency, with Liam taking more of the "brains" role with his research and gadgets, and Kyle taking the "brawn" role with his impulsivity and more "physical" interests.

A quick drawing I made a couple of nights ago, since I've had the Fantasy AU on my brain(currently still struggling but trying to write the next chapter lol 🥲). Since I've also thought about drawing Vera again, I thought to combine the two ideas and draw her as how she would appear in it! :3

Since the current timeline of the AU focuses on her parents being young adults, obviously she's not around yet but here is her in some princess garb! The orange dress is inspired by this one I found on Pinterest, and her tiara is slightly inspired by Princess Aurora's! I also added a gold fairy necklace, to callback to her being a fairy~

Because it has become my latest fandom as of the past few months, would anyone like to see a DBDA AU for my Spooksverse characters? It would focus on the Main Group(Liam, Kyle, Suzie, and Shadow) taking on the roles of the four main characters(Edwin, Charles, Crystal, and Niko), with a lot of differences of course but some similar vibes. Honestly, the show has given me so much inspiration for both the Spooksverse universe and the Main Group themselves, so this AU idea came quickly and has given me some interesting parallels to think about.

Was tagged in this picrew chain a week ago, and I thought it was cute enough to make the main characters in it! :3 Kind of had to improvise with Liam's outfit since there was no hoodie option to give him, but I still like what I came up with for him, and I think the others came out cute too!
