Pride Flag Pin Pattern

Happy pride month, everyone! 🏳️🌈
Here is a quick and easy pattern for pride flag pins! I will include instructions for the pins pictured above, and even for some flags I didn’t have the materials to make, so you can show your true colors all year long!
(Don’t delete my caption while reblogging! Thanks!)

I finished my first ever scarf!!!
it's not good, not by a long shot, but I'm still proud of it. It's decent for my first time ever knitting.

I don't wanna post myself wearing it rn because I look like shit

I haven't had an orts jar in forever so I decided to make myself a cute one!
Orts is an old school word for leftover strings at the end of a fiber craft piece. There's a belief that my grandma taught me that collecting the orts in a jar collects luck and when the jar is full you can stuff a small item or toy with them as a lucky charm and then start a new collection of luck in your jar!

So my sister wants to start sewing more, because
a. She’s 5′ 11″ and can never find pants long enough for her legs or shirts long enough for her arms.
b. She hates synthetic fibers as much as I do and it’s difficult to find natural fiber clothes that aren’t made of cotton
c. She’s a biologist and would physically fistfight microplastics if given half a chance
So her gift from mom and dad for her birthday was a sewing machine. Not a super expensive one but a good solid serviceable one.
And recently she asked “So where do I GET wool or linen and thread that isn’t polyester” and mom was like ‘go ask your sister’
And I, of course, crashed into the group text like “GET A PEN I HAVE WEBSITES FOR U” and honestly I’m thrilled about this

I made a cross-stitch pattern for Pride month based on Gilbert Baker's original pride flag colors and their meanings. the pattern is about 80 x 100 stitches. I'm hoping to have it stitched in time for June next year, but I'm posting it here so everyone else can try it out too! 🏳️🌈

Finished product:

The fabric doesn't look that yellow irl I swear. Also ignore the bow around his neck.
Patterns link!! U know the drill, don't steal and monetise.

hey. hey. you can make notes on your sewing patterns. no ones gonna stop you. go for it, circle your measurements, write notes, scribble hate !
#this is actually very helpful to me#the last time i used a sewing pattern was in home ec#i recently just got back into sewing so it's been a hard habit to break to not write notes on my patterns

sewing life hack

don’t cut out your pattern pieces, trace them onto something sturdier, like parchment paper. it’s much easier to make alterations that way, and you keep the original pattern intact to use over and over again, without losing any pieces, or any of the instructions printed in the margins
