So this month I've done a lot of work 3D modeling possessed versions of Pokemon in VR each week, totalling 5 Pokemon. Here's the collection of the renders.

From the top, in order, we have Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Meowth and Gengar.

I don't have a ton of experience in 3D modeling, but I'm hoping that by putting my stuff out there I'll be able to work with more people who do this type of work and maybe make some friends and peers who I can do stuff with.

i just woke up from a dream where i was reading a quote by john darnielle about a mountain goats song he had written. the quote was like

in the silmarillion there is a story about the second son of a king who married an elf maiden and the couple had a son of their own. in order to protect the son from the deadly politics of their time, the elf woman made a new, slightly different reality where she could hide him until he would no longer be in danger. this song is about the son becoming the successful owner of a gym in a version of the story where his mother failed to protect him, and neapolitan whispers and infighting led to the downfall of the family. it’s called “in the hall of the yellow king”.

I've been working on making 3d models in VR and it's remarkably like sculpting. I tried to use blender a couple times but my stupid brain couldn't handle the menus, but working in VR is so much more fun and fluid. It gives me a sense of accomplishment I haven't felt before making art. Plus, I can export them to my friends or eventually myself once I get a 3D printer to bring my work into the real world.

So yeah I'm gonna start posting them here. Here's my latest WIP, a little baba yaga house I did in Polysketch while I was at an arts n crafts night. This 3d model is available for free below in case anyone wants to look at it up close, it's a mobile friendly service that allows anyone on any device to look at and download 3d models.

Another Ukrainian journal and little phrase for the day. Вироблення нових звичок, building new habits.

I want to make a difference in the way I build myself up this year. I want to be conversationally fluent by the end of the year, just one of my goals, but in order to do ANY of my goals I have to work on my neural plasticity and get better at listening, retention and study.

I was able to meet with my Ukrainian tutor this last Sunday and go over some of the phrases I've been learning, and he helped me parse what was a proper translation versus a Google translation, which works for specific words but not phrases as a whole and leaves out the context these phrases have in English versus Ukrainian.

I'll be posting a lot more on here various projects and efforts to learn new stuff, like 3d modeling and video editing. Hopefully some of them will be TikToks when I'm good enough at recording my 3d modeling sessions and voiceover work.

I hate that even just hearing someone's name mentioned or seeing a shared post by someone can make me fully dissociate, even when they're someone a lot of people really like. Who a lot of my close friends really like. It's been years now, but my palms still sweat sometimes, I still have confusing nightmares and complicated dreams. My heart beats out of my chest for hours and my head is encased in a thick fog.

Can't really talk about it anywhere else cause social media, but yeah.
